There is absolutely nobody in the popular music realm who moves in more secrecy than Beyoncé. Her tracks simply do not leak. She’s the pioneer of the surprise album drop. On more than one occasion, she has put out entire full-length statements without advance warning. So when unreleased Beyoncé music gets stolen, it’s a five-alarm feature. One man in Atlanta briefly did possess entire hard drives of Beyoncé’s music, but that music never leaked. This morning, that man got a two-year prison sentence.

(written by Islander) The cover image on Tooms‘ new album Karst might make most people wonder about the musical direction this trio from the west of Ireland decided to follow over the years that have passed since their 2020 full-length debut, The Orb Offers Massive Signals. It doesn’t seem to match up with the band’s […]

Where they from?
Binghamton, NY. The Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76ers both got swept in the second round of the playoffs. I would brag, gloat even except for the fact that the Mets are a bajillion games under .500 and it’s not even Memorial Day. Misery loves company, I guess.
Why the hype?
Our beloved Binghamton badasses are back better than ever. Common Decency are a throwback to early aughts grungy grindcore/powerviolence in the same vein as Chainsaw to the Face and Spoonful of Vicodin. The band conjures bursts of rage at the speed of hate while sounding like they recorded everything in a hantavirus-infected trash compactor. Something like this would have fit right in on This Comp Kills Fascists.
Latest release?
Split w/ Self Love, out now on Rat Mix records. It’s the janky stop/start sections that really do it for me here. Also love that the vocalist sounds like a drunk little league Dad yelling at the umpires for missing ball and strikes. Springtime in Binghamton must be beautiful.

Metalcore act, Following The Signs, formed in 2017 out of Corc City, Ireland. The 5-piece act is made up of Alan Jevens (vocals), Noel Crowley and Vincent Renoux (guitars), Rory Taylor (bass), and Chris O'Hanlon (drums). Following their 2023 album "Conflictions", Following The Signs just released their newest EP "Evolve" on March 20th, 2026.
The title track, "Evolve," begins with upbeat, chiming synth keys that grow in dynamics before launching into melodic distorted guitar chords as alternated screaming and singing vocals build a sense of vocal contrast. Slamming drums and heavy guitars are met by the electronic synth influences, creating a unique sound that changes things up from traditional metal.
After the second chorus, Following The Signs jumps into a brutal breakdown as speeding double bass drumming leads into slowed tempo destruction as low growls and piercing screams cover the heavy vocal range. After a jazzy guitar interlude, the band launches into a final anthemic chorus to close out the track.
Fans of progressive metal, metalcore, and melodic metal will enjoy Following The Sign's mix of melody and heaviness. You can stream "Evolve" available on all platforms now.
