Paul McCartney Unveils First-Ever Duet with Ringo Starr, “Home to Us”
Paul McCartney Announced First-Ever Duet with Ringo Starr at Special London Fan Event Today
“Home to Us”
Featuring Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri
The New Single, Available from Friday May 8th Taken From The Forthcoming New Album The Boys of Dungeon Lane
Out May 29th via MPL/Capitol Records – Available to Pre-Order Now
Speaking at a special fan album playback event today at London’s Abbey Road Studios, Paul McCartney revealed his first-ever duet with Ringo Starr. Titled “Home to Us”, the song will be released this week on Friday May 8th and is the second song to be released from Paul’s forthcoming album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane.
Today Paul surprised 50 lucky fans invited for an exclusive first listen of his new album, joining them inside Abbey Road Studio Two to share stories behind the new songs and recordings.
Following the rapturously received “Days We Left Behind,” “Home to Us” is Paul’s first ever duet with Ringo Starr, and features backing vocals from Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri. The song was formed around a drum track Paul invited Ringo to record for the album with producer Andrew Watt, and marks the only song on The Boys of Dungeon Lane that features a guest drummer. Paul plays the majority of the instruments on the new record – much in the spirit of his 1970 solo debut album, McCartney.
Speaking about “Home to Us”, Paul said: “Ringo went round to the studio and drummed a bit. I said to Andrew, we should make a track and send it to him. So this song is done totally with Ringo in mind. In writing the song I’m talking about where we came from. In common with a lot of people, you come from nothing and you build yourself up. Ringo was from the Dingle, and that was well hard. He said he used to get mugged coming home, because he worked. Even though it was crazy, it was home to us. I made the song around that idea and sent it to Ringo. He sent me back a version where he just added some lines to the chorus, so I thought, maybe he doesn’t like it. I rang him and he said he thought I only wanted him to sing one or two lines, and I said I’d love to hear him sing the whole thing. So we took my first line, Ringo’s second line, and then we had a duet. We’d never done that before. Then we wanted some backing vocals and I had the idea it would be nice to hear girls. Chrissie Hynde said she’d do it, and Sharleen Spiteri, they’re mates. So they did it.”
Since the new album was announced, The Boys of Dungeon Lane has been surrounded by excitement from fans and media all over the world, and that anticipation reached fever pitch today. Awed fans in attendance have been describing the experience as an inconceivable dream come true.
The Boys of Dungeon Lane is not only the first new solo album from Paul McCartney in over five years; it is a revealing collection of never-before shared stories, personal memories, and some newly inspired love songs, from one of the most culturally significant figures of our time. Turning the lens inward, Paul revisits the formative years that shaped both his life, and the very foundations of modern popular culture. The album is arguably his most personal and introspective to date, untold stories that transport the listener back to where it all began. The new songs find Paul in a candid, vulnerable and reflective mood, writing with rare openness about his childhood in post-war Liverpool, the resilience of his parents, and early adventures with George Harrison and John Lennon long before the world had ever heard of Beatlemania. The Boys of Dungeon Lane is the story before THE story.
The Boys of Dungeon Lane is released on May 29th via MPL/Capitol Records.

Chilean prog rockers Aisles release new single Lobsters and Ants

Chilean progressive rock band Aisles continue unveiling new material ahead of the announcement of their sixth studio album.
The latest single ‘Lobsters and Ants’ is an avant-garde prog metal blast that showcases the versatility and intricacy the band has crafted throughout their entire twenty-year-long career.

‘Lobsters and Ants’ expands the focus and showcases a fierce and powerful side of the band, differing in tone and approach from the earlier singles, ‘Blue Skies’ and ‘Now Is the Time’, yet still drawing from the band’s unique emotional and atmospheric take on prog rock.
Their upcoming album – the band’s sixth in 20 years – is a testament to their versatility and musicianship alongside emotional vision and artistic concept. The song specifically drew inspiration from surrealism, most evident in the avant-garde construction of the piece and its spoken-word section, inspired by the Argentinian writer Julio Cortázar. Mixed by Adam Noble and mastered by Robin Schmidt, it captures Aisles at their most bombastic and nerve-wracking chemistry.Or Stream on YouTube
The band state: “The song reflects on a world driven by madness and chaos. We gave ourselves the freedom to explore the absurd, diving into that space in search of meaning.
“The main riff originated from an idea [bassist] Daniel created during our first composition camp, which became the foundation of the track. The lyrics are surreal and open-ended; they may or may not make sense, leaving space for free interpretation.”
The band invites those interested in following their steps to join their Patreon for further exclusive content:
“We also captured some incredible footage of the creation of the ending poem, something that feels almost like a cult prayer, closing the piece with a haunting, ritualistic atmosphere.”
Having released five highly acclaimed studio albums, progressive rock band Aisles have created an unparalleled musical approach that combines intricate melodies and sonic openness. They have toured the Americas, Europe, and performed with prog legends Leprous, Marillion, Focus, and Riverside.
In 2005, Aisles released their debut album, The Yearning, recognized for its elegant and delicate melodic work. In 2009, their second album, In Sudden Walks, inspired by existential literature and theatre, was nominated for Best Foreign Record at the Prog Awards in Italy. Their third record, 4:45 AM (2013) was ranked among the best albums of that year in numerous publications specialized in progressive rock.
Their fourth studio album, Hawaii (2016), a conceptual double album that narrates the life of humanity in space after the destruction of the Earth, was called a “masterpiece”. The success of the album allowed Aisles to tour in Europe, the United States and Mexico.
In 2018, they released the EP Live from Estudio del Sur, complemented by four live-recorded videos available on YouTube. The band released their fifth album, Beyond Drama, on 5th April, 2023, after the departure of three members and the reconfiguration of the group. On 30th April, 2023, Aislesreleased the instrumental suite Bahamut, inspired by the science fiction novel of the same name written by Chilean author Francisco Ortega. On May 2024, they released the EP Obras de Los Jaivas, where they tribute Chilean prog folk group Los Jaivas, featuring four guest singers – and closed the year with new single ‘The Dream’, introducing new vocalist Boris Seeder.Aisles are:

German Vergara: guitars and vocals

A Return to the “Machine”: New Music on the Horizon
Beyond the tour announcement, the most electrifying news for the Clutch faithful is the band’s return to the studio with legendary producer Gene “Machine” Freeman. Having helmed fan-favorite records like Blast Tyrant, Earth Rocker, and Psychic Warfare, Machine’s reunion with the quartet suggests a return to the high-energy, razor-sharp production that defined the band’s most commercially successful eras.
While the band had previously toyed with the idea of working with Tom Dalgety again, the shift back to Machine indicates a clear vision for the upcoming fourteenth studio LP. Writing has been ongoing between touring commitments, and the new material is expected to drop before the ball falls on 2026.

Three Decades of Unshakeable Bond
Formed in Germantown, Maryland, the lineup of Neil Fallon, Tim Sult, Dan Maines, and Jean-Paul Gaster has remained unchanged since their inception in 1991. It is a rare feat in the music industry, resulting in a musical telepathy that makes Clutch one of the most formidable live acts in the world today.
Influenced by the D.C. hardcore scene but rooted in fuzzy, athletic rock, the band has outlasted trends by focusing on the experience and the community. Whether they are sharing the stage with Slayer or Mastodon, Clutch remains a theatrical, high-octane entity that continues to push the boundaries of modern rock.
