    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BROADSLAB UNLEASH “HELLACIOUS SOUL METAL” WITH NEW ALBUM THE FIFTH ESSENCE — OUT JUNE 26, 2026
Benson, NC – From the dusty outskirts of North Carolina comes a sound that doesn’t ask permission and sure as hell doesn’t play it safe. Broadslab are set to drop their full-length album The Fifth Essence on June 26, 2026 via Electric Desert Records, delivering a heavy, groove-soaked punch they’ve branded as “Hellacious Soul Metal.”
Leading the charge is the first single, “Keep on Rollin’,” released April 24, 2026, followed by the second single “Leslie” arriving May 22, 2026. Both tracks give listeners a taste of the band’s raw blend of Southern grit, psychedelic soul, and no-frills heavy metal muscle.
Broadslab pull from deep roots, fusing the spirit of classic rock with a darker, modern edge. Think the swampy groove of Southern rock colliding head-on with thick, down-tuned riffs and outlaw attitude. Fans of Corrosion of Conformity, Superjoint Ritual, and Down will feel right at home, but Broadslab aren’t just rehashing the past, they’re dragging it into the present, kicking and screaming.
The band’s name traces back to a region steeped in moonshine history, and that outlaw DNA runs through everything they do. Their music channels stories of midnight runs, backroad chases, and a lifestyle that doesn’t clock in or punch out. It’s loud, it’s dangerous, and it’s got dirt under its fingernails.
Recorded and mixed by Mike Dean and produced by Broadslab alongside Dean, The Fifth Essence captures the band in full throttle, no studio polish masking the grit. Just honest, hard-hitting sound the way it was meant to be.
North Carolina concert promoter Tony “Dio” Leonard sums it up best:
“If the Allman Brothers, Black Sabbath and Captain Beyond had a threesome, Broadslab would be the dirty result.”
This isn’t just another release, it’s a statement. Broadslab are here to carve out their own lane and leave tire marks all over it.

  • THE VERDICT: Inside The Brand New MOTÖRHEAD Museum And LEMMY Themed Bar

    lemmy-legacy-museum

STOKE-ON-TRENT, UK — A new Motörhead museum and themed bar, “Old No. 6,” officially opened in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, on Friday, May 1, 2026. The venue features rare band memorabilia and serves official Motörhead beers to fans visiting the nearby Lemmy Kilmister statue. Proceeds from the site will fund “Kilmister Halls,” a planned 1,500-capacity music venue designed to revitalize the historic Queen’s Theatre.

What can fans expect to find at the new Motörhead museum in Burslem?

Located in the heart of Burslem, the “Old No. 6” venue operates as both a shrine to Lemmy Kilmister and a functional social hub. The interior houses a curated collection of Motörhead memorabilia and artwork provided by the IFK Legacy CIC. Beyond the exhibits, the bar serves a dedicated menu including official band-branded beers and the signature “Lemmy Lemonade,” creating a localized pilgrimage site for the “Motörheadbanger” community.

The opening was strategically timed for the May Bank Holiday weekend, capitalizing on the influx of international tourists who travel to see the bronze Lemmy statue unveiled in 2025. This permanent installation, crafted by Andy Edwards, famously contains a portion of the frontman’s ashes, which were interred by guitarist Phil Campbell during a massive biker cortege ceremony last year.

How does “Old No. 6” support the future of the Lemmy Project?

The museum is more than a static display; it is a primary fundraising engine for the ambitious Lemmy Project. Profits are being funneled into the transformation of the Grade II listed Queen’s Theatre into Kilmister Halls. Once completed, this cultural hub will provide a 1,500-capacity space for live music, directly honoring Lemmy’s legacy in the town where he was born in 1945.

By establishing a permanent commercial presence, the IFK Legacy CIC aims to sustain the momentum of the band’s 50th-anniversary celebrations. The goal is to turn Stoke-on-Trent into a global destination for heavy metal history, linking the museum to the site of the legendary Heavy Metal Holocaust concert held at Port Vale Stadium in 1981.

What is the current status of the Lemmy Kilmister biopic?

While the museum celebrates the past, the upcoming biopic titled “Lemmy” is set to bring the frontman’s story to the silver screen. Directed by Greg Olliver—the filmmaker behind the acclaimed 2010 documentary—the project remains in active development. The film aims to chronicle Kilmister’s life from his early days in Staffordshire to his definitive years at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Los Angeles, where he passed away in December 2015.

The opening of the Burslem museum serves as a bridge between the artist’s humble beginnings in the Midlands and his final resting place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood. With the 50th-anniversary festivities continuing throughout 2026, the global interest in Motörhead’s “rebellious, free-wheeling attitude” shows no signs of slowing down.

    Our Take On It

Look, there isn’t a person in this scene who doesn’t owe a debt to Lemmy. Opening a museum in Burslem isn’t just a win for local tourism; it’s a middle finger to the idea that rock stars have to come from London or LA. It’s raw, it’s loud, and serving “Lemmy Lemonade” in his birthplace is exactly the kind of no-nonsense tribute the man would have appreciated. The “Candid Peer” take? If you call yourself a metal fan and you aren’t planning a trip to Stoke to raise a glass at Old No. 6, you’re doing it wrong. This is the new HQ for the lifestyle that Motörhead built.

  • KINGS OF THRASH (Featuring DAVID ELLEFSON & JEFF YOUNG) Taps STEVE “ZETRO” SOUSA For New Single/ Music Video “Bullets Ready”

The track pairs Kings Of Thrash vocalist Chaz Leon with Gabriel Connor, frontman of Los Angeles theatrical rock outfit Red Devil Vortex, in a dual vocal performance. Former Exodus singer Steve “Zetro” Souza also appears as a guest. Mixing duties were handled by Grammy-winning producer Cameron Webb, whose credits include Motörhead, Danzig, and Godsmack.

Young has spoken about the song’s origins, tracing it back to drum recordings made by the late Megadeth drummer Nick Menza during the production of a documentary about his life (transcribed by Blabbermouth). “During the making of the Nick Menza film, I acquired several demo recordings of Nick playing various drum progressions,” Young said. “In essence, the introduction, verses, and chorus of ‘Bullets Ready’ came from playing along to one of Nick‘s energetic grooves.

“During Megadeth‘s ‘So Far, So Good…So What!’ tour, it was often David, Nick, and me that would conduct the soundchecks,” Young continued. “It was a surreal and nostalgic feeling to be playing along and writing riffs with my long-lost friend. Nick’s playing inspired so much of this song, and his spirit is forever encapsulated inside this recording.”

The accompanying music video was shot in Hollywood and directed by Kings Of Thrash drummer Fred Aching. Additional footage was captured at the Nelson Valley Ghost Town in El Dorado Valley, Arizona — the same location used in the film 3000 Miles To Graceland.

Kings Of Thrash formed in April 2022 following a joint appearance by Ellefson and Young at an Ultimate Jam Night at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, where the two performed classic Megadeth material alongside Leon. The band was built around Ellefson‘s vision of a live show devoted to early Megadeth albums and seldom-played deep cuts from that era — a concept dubbed “The MEGA Years.”

In November 2022, the group played four proof-of-concept dates in San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Hollywood. The Whisky A Go Go show was captured on camera and later released as The Best Of The West – Live At The Whisky A Go Go, a double live album and DVD issued by Cleopatra Records in spring 2023 on digital and vinyl. In 2025, the band released its first original track, the thrash/punk-leaning “Lockdown,” with a music video also directed by Aching.

The band is currently on a global tour with upcoming dates in Canada, the U.S., Norway, Ireland, and the U.K.
