    Analyzing the 2026 Metal Landscape

The pairing of Killswitch Engage and Machine Head—former Roadrunner Records labelmates—is a “full circle” moment for fans of early 2000s metal. By including technical acts like Rivers of Nihil and the hardcore-infused Judiciary, the tour bridges the gap between the “Old Guard” of metalcore and the hyper-technical sound dominating the 2026 charts.

  • IRON MAIDEN Is Finally Set For 2026 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction

British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden are finally set to enter the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as part of the 2026 Performer class. Joining them this year are Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan.

Additional honors will be handed out across several categories. Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Gram Parsons will receive the Early Influence Award. The Musical Excellence Award will go to songwriter Linda Creed, producers Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, and Rick Rubin, while Ed Sullivan is set to receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

“Induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is music’s highest honor,” chairman John Sykes said in a statement. “We look forward to celebrating these remarkable artists at this year’s ceremony — it’s going to be an unforgettable night.”

The ceremony is scheduled for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with a broadcast planned on ABC and Disney+ the following month. That date lands in the middle of Iron Maiden’s Australian run, with shows booked for November 13 in Melbourne and November 15 in Sydney.

Manager Rod Smallwood addressed the news, saying: “We’d like to thank the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for including us (and former members who were all part of our story) in the 2026 roll call of inductees.

Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades. However, having said that, it’s always nice to be recognized and honored for any achievements within the music industry too!”

He continued: “It also seems appropriate for the band to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year as we continue our 50th-anniversary celebrations with our Run For Your Lives world tour visiting the Americas and beyond. We would also like to congratulate our fellow 2026 inductees and extend our gratitude as ever to our fans for their loyalty, perseverance and support for over 50 years now! See you all, somewhere on tour.”

The lineup being recognized includes Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, and Janick Gers, along with former members Dennis Stratton, Paul Di’Anno, Blaze Bayley, and Clive Burr.

Eligible for the induction since 2005, Iron Maiden have built one of the most consistent catalogs in metal, starting with their self-titled debut Iron Maiden and continuing through 16 additional studio albums. The band has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and remains a major touring force decades into its career.

According to Rock Hall guidelines, artists become eligible 25 years after their first release. Beyond that, selections are also based on influence and overall impact on the evolution of rock music, a standard that continues to spark debate year after year.
