Mouth Culture have become the third band to sign to new UK label Killabop, and it comes at a very exciting time in their journey.

The deal encompasses their debut mixtape ‘These Days’, which was released back in 2021, as well as their upcoming debut album, which they are still working on and should arrive very soon.

They join VENUS GRRRLS and Hongza as part of the Killabop family, a label set up to support and champion young British talent.

The band had this to say about the signing, stating, “We pride ourselves on writing killer bops, so it only makes sense that we’ve found our home at Killabop. From the moment we met Nav and the team, we knew their vision aligned with ours. Working with a label that genuinely cares about its artists and the longevity of what we’re building is incredibly refreshing, and it’s rare to find people who truly believe in something. We can’t wait to see what the future holds. Blessed to be part of it.”

Mouth Culture released their latest single back in October last year. It was called ‘On and On’ and sounds a lot like this:

The band are set to head out on a headline tour across the UK alongside Overgrown. Here are the dates.

  • Slift Announce New Album Fantasia: Hear “A Storm Of Wings”

These days I think of the Sub Pop roster as hip, eclectic, and a little bit soft, but Slift get me back in touch with the label’s hard-hitting origins. Not that the French trio plays grunge, but their heavy psych, with its gnarly guitar riffs and barked-out lyrics, is raw and explosive in a way…

  • Rumor: Converge to Release a New Album ‘Hum of Hurt’ This June

    Converge_JasonZucco_20250407_Converge1416_HiRes-Default

File this one under ‘if there’s smoke, there’s fire’, but it’s looking like Converge isn’t done releasing new music. Just a little more than a month after the release of their latest album Love Is Not Enough, it seems the Massachusetts-based band is going to announce their next studio effort, Hum Of Hurt — along with its title track — tomorrow.

Though it’s not been officially announced just yet, album details have made their way online through sources like the French premium music streaming service Qobuz. Thanks to that and similar listings, we know that the new album will be released on June 5 via Epitaph Records. We also know it’s once again produced by Converge’s guitarist Kurt Ballou, and we know it features 10 new tracks totaling just about 33 and a half minutes of what’s sure to be unadulterated chaos.

There’s even an unlisted YouTube video for the title track that’s currently unavailable for viewing, but was uploaded a few hours ago. That’s apparently supposed to go live tomorrow, but here’s the rub: tomorrow’s April Fools’ Day, so I’m going out on a limb here to post this as a rumor and potentially get burned by some massive prank.

Either way, the prospect of new Converge music is too exciting not to share with you guys. If it all turns out to be a ruse, good job Converge. You got me. If not, then we’re all winners because fuck yes, new Converge!

    Hum Of Hurt tracklist

    1. Slip the Noose
    2. Doom in Bloom
    3. It Only Gets Worse
    4. Detonator
    5. I Won’t Let You Go
    6. It’s Not Up To Us
    7. Dream Debris
    8. It Used to Matter
    9. Hum of Hurt
    10. Nothing is Over

  • LEX LEGION – Featuring Classic KING DIAMOND MEMBERS & PAGAN’s MIND Frontman – Release Music Video For Debut Single “Sleep Eternally”

Lex Legion is a brand new band comprised of old friends with incredible heavy metal pedigree. Comprising four-fifths of the classic late 1980s King Diamond line-up – drummer Mikkey Dee, guitarists Pete Blakk and Andy La Rocque, and bassist Hal Patino – the group is infused with the jaw-dropping vocals of Nils K. Rue (Pagan’s Mind). And let’s not overlook that their members also boast Motörhead, Scorpions, and Death on their collective resumes.

Lex Legion‘s eponymous debut album is a single-minded, future-facing throwback of world-class hard rock/metal distinguished by tasteful, less-is-more arrangements, virtuoso musicianship, and relentless melody and harmony. Check out the album opener and first single, “Sleep Eternally,” below.

Lex Legion is totally written the way we thought in the ’80s,” said Mikkey Dee. “We wrote what we wanted, and if you liked it, that was a great bonus. If you didn’t like it, that was fine with us, too!”

Lex Legion was formed by Blakk and Dee, and completed by Patino, alongside La Rocque (a King Diamond constant since 1985, who also played on Death‘s seminal Individual Thought Patterns), and finally, Rue.

This is music for hard rock/metal fans, but also with a freshness and sense of excitement that only a debut album can capture. Lex Legion‘s members find themselves more musically accomplished than ever before, but now free of the egos of youth, and with friendship that comes with careers spanning more than forty years.

Despite their impressive resumes (Dee is also a Grammy winner and both La Rocque and Hal Patino are nominees) and busy individual schedules, Lex Legion is a serious passion project that’s been gestating for a quarter century, until the time was right.

Lex Legion‘s self-titled debut will be released by MNRK Music Group in June of 2026, with possible touring beginning the following year.

“It has elements of everything on the album,” said La Rocque. “The right tempo and the right kind of vocals, starting out like a fist in your face!” Rue’s soaring pipes and ominous harmonies are framed by Dee’s unmistakable powerhouse drumming, imaginative leads from both guitarists, Patino’s melodic basslines, and shifts of pace and tempo that will satiate fans of more progressive sub-genres.”

The second track and follow-up single “Gypsy Tears” (which arrives in May) seals the deal – eerie, rapturous, otherworldly, propulsive, and evocative, but also, straight-up driving, melodic metal.

“This is totally unique. No one is writing this kind of music, and there’s a big hole for us to fill,” Blakk concluded. “Welcome to our new journey of friendship and hard rock!”
