  • South Arcade Announce Massive UK Headline Show

South Arcade have announced the details of their biggest ever headline show, set to take place early in 2027.

The band will be taking over London’s iconic Brixton Academy on February 27 next year. They announced the show whilst on stage at the O2, serving as support for 5 Seconds Of Summer, which is as big a move as you can possibly make, really.

Tickets for the show will be on general sale from April 10 at 9am.

The band had this to say about the announcement, exclaiming, “We can’t quite believe we’re saying it but we’re so excited we can announce our crazy plan to headline Brixton O2 Academy! It’s such a cool venue and one we’ve seen so many amazing bands in so to be able to step onto that stage still doesn’t quite make sense to us! Now we just need to find some more huge spray cans…

The band released their latest EP ‘PLAY!’ late last year. Here is ‘Blood Run Warm’ from that very release, performed live at Kentish Town Forum.

South Arcade are on the cover of Rock Sound right now as one of our Stars of 2026. In a new interview, vocalist Harmony Cavelle and bass guitarist Ollie Green reflect on the key moments of 2025 and their ambitious plans for another 12 months of mayhem.

  • At The Gates Unleash “The Dissonant Void” – A Glimpse Into a Monumental Final Chapter – @thebeast

Swedish melodic death metal legends At The Gates are back with a crushing new single, “The Dissonant Void,” offering fans a powerful second taste of their upcoming album The Ghost of a Future Dead , set for release April 24 via Century Media Records .
Right out of the gate, this track hits like a freight train. Sharp, melodic, and stripped of excess, it’s everything longtime fans expect from At The Gates. The band even revealed that the song was originally considered as the album’s title track, which tells you just how central it is to the overall vision.

    A Visual and Sonic Experience

The video for “The Dissonant Void,” once again crafted by visionary collaborator Costin Chioreanu , is more than just a music video. It’s the opening chapter in a much larger conceptual piece tied to the entire album.
Chioreanu describes the project as a massive undertaking, building a dark and immersive visual universe that mirrors the emotional weight and lyrical depth of the record. This isn’t just promo content. It’s a full-on artistic extension of the album itself, with more to be revealed as the complete visual project rolls out.

    A Legacy Etched in Darkness

The Ghost of a Future Dead carries a weight that goes far beyond music. It stands as the final work of frontman Tomas Lindberg , who passed away in September 2025 following complications from cancer treatment.
According to the band, Lindberg was deeply involved in every aspect of the album before his passing. From the title and artwork to the track order and sonic direction, this record reflects his vision down to the finest detail.
No shortcuts. No compromises. Just legacy.
“This album is Tomas’ legacy,” the band stated. And from everything we’ve heard so far, they mean it.

    Built With Precision and Power

The album was recorded and mixed by renowned producer Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden, ensuring a polished yet ferocious sound. Visually, it’s backed by artwork from Robert Samsonowitz , further reinforcing the album’s dark and immersive aesthetic.
Clocking in at just over 42 minutes, the album delivers a tight, focused assault across 12 tracks, including:
    The Fever Mask
    The Dissonant Void
    A Ritual of Waste
    Tomb of Heaven
    Black Hole Emission
    …and more.

    A Worthy Follow-Up

This release follows 2021’s The Nightmare of Being , an album that showed At The Gates pushing their boundaries. This time around, they’ve sharpened the blade. The result feels more direct, more emotional, and arguably more intense.

    Formats for the Diehards

Collectors, you’re in luck. The Ghost of a Future Dead will be available in multiple formats, including limited-edition vinyl variants, CD editions, and digital releases. Some exclusive pressings have already sold out, so if you’re planning to grab one, don’t sit on it.

    Final Thoughts

“The Dissonant Void” proves that even in the face of loss, At The Gates remain a dominant force. This isn’t just another album cycle. It’s a farewell carved in stone, a tribute to a legend, and a reminder of why this band helped shape an entire genre.
If this track is any indication, April 24 isn’t just a release date. It’s going to be a moment.
Stay tuned. This one’s going to hit hard.

  • Kanye West Denied Entry To UK, Wireless Festival Canceled

Last week, organizers of London’s Wireless announced that Kanye West would headline all three nights of the festival, which was set to take place July 10-12 at London’s Finsbury Park. Companies like Pepsi, Diageo, Rockstar Energy, and PayPal responded by removing their sponsorship of the event, but promoter Melvin Benn issued a statement standing by West and urging “forgiveness and giving people a second chance.” It didn’t work. The UK government has denied West entry to the country, and this year’s Wireless is now canceled.

Sophomore album ‘A Tranquil Void’ released 5th June 2026 on APF Records

Formed in 2020, just before the pandemic hit, Urzah’s intensely collaborative and productive writing process was immediately evident, leading to the quick release of self-titled EPs ‘I’ (2020) and ‘II’ (2022). These laid the foundation for Urzah’s unique brand of ‘progressive sludge’. Inviting comparisons to Neurosis, DVNE, Mastodon and Elder, their forward-looking sound combines the abrasive elements of punk and post-hardcore with atmospheric post-metal passages and soaring melodies.

Urzah’s vision of ‘Earthen Heaviness’, combining oppressive darkness with moments of transcendence and cosmic awe, was realised on their critically acclaimed debut LP ‘The Scorching Gaze’ (2024, APF Records). The band’s sonic world draws on both the intensely personal – rage, loss, grief and self-doubt – and a profound awe and vulnerability in the face of the celestial and natural worlds, framing visceral human struggle within vast cycles of death, decay and rebirth.

Since their debut, Urzah has refined their live shows across the UK, playing festivals and headline shows, and sharing stages with a diverse roster of heavy bands including Bongzilla, Tuskar, Mastiff, Greenleaf, OHHMS and Dopelord, as well as progressive atmospheric bands such as Hidden Mothers, Underdark and Nadja, demonstrating their strong cross-genre appeal.

The band recently announced that they are set to release new LP ‘A Tranquil Void on 5th June 2026 via APF Records. The record marks a defining moment for the band, following up their critically acclaimed debut ‘A Scorching Gaze’ (2024, APF) with an even more assured, mature and ambitious full-length. Conceptually, ‘The Scorching Gaze’ and ‘A Tranquil Void’ function as a visual, musical and thematic diptych; where their debut burned brightly with the rage and destruction of an erupting volcano, their new LP captures the cathartic, contemplative still that follows.

2nd single “Hunter in the Veil”, according to the band, “draws on mythic symbolism and elemental imagery to explore cycles of power, death, and renewal. A graceful but menacing feminine presence, the Wolfess evoked in the track exists between worlds as an archetypal force. Death and transformation are portrayed as sacred processes rather than endings, and the sombre outro expresses how our bodily ash returns to the soil and our memories feed rebirth.

‘In the Mouth of the Wolf’ examines forgiveness and personal healing, while previous single ‘Infernal Star I’ reflects on the power of memory and connection to cast light in the darkness of a vast and uncharted universe. Other tracks grapple with overcoming grief (‘The Call Beneath’), rejecting apathy for aspiration (‘At the Mouth of the Cave’) and creating art and meaning in spite of adversity (‘Bark & Branches’).

Across 8 tracks, ‘A Tranquil Void’ pushes Urzah’s sound even further, combining brutal riffs, complicated meter and searing guitar tone with deeper explorations of space, dynamics and atmosphere, incorporating folk influences and drones built from cello and guitar. 13-minute album closer ‘Entwined, Twisted Roots of Chaos’ sees Urzah at their most ambitious; across multiple interlocking sections, enriched by guest vocals from friends in the Bristol scene, the song builds from a haunting whisper to a planet-obliterating roar.
