ADTR’s Jeremy McKinnon: “We’re working on [Vol. 2], but we’re not in a place where anything’s done”
A Day To Remember frontman Jeremy McKinnon has given Kerrang! an update on the band’s next album – the follow-up to last year’s absolutely ace Big Ole Album Vol. 1.
Speaking alongside Bilmuri for the release of their collab single ALWAYS LET YOU DOWN last Friday (March 13), the vocalist confirms that, “We’re working on [Vol. 2], but we’re not in a place where anything’s done. It’s not supposed to just be Vol. 1 B‑sides, we want it to feel like its own thing. I want it to be an argument [over] which one is better, so until we feel like we have it there, that’s what we’re gonna do.”
When asked if another songwriting session with Bilmuri could be on the cards, Jeremy enthuses, “Johnny’s a super-awesome, genuine guy. It felt like we’d known each other the entire time. I know that we’re gonna keep in touch. Anytime in the future they ever need me, I’ll be there. If he wants to do another song, let’s do it.”
Just over a year ago, Jeremy told K! of the next instalment of Big Ole Album, “There is another album, yes. It’ll be its own entirely separate thing that comes later. We’ve got quite a bit done for Vol. 2, but it’s not quite finished yet. What will be cool is that we can react to what people like about Vol. 1, and write more towards that. That’s a place we’ve never been before, to adjust in real time like that to give the fans more of what they liked, and less of what they didn’t. That feels exciting to me.”
