Yellowcard have shared a new track called ‘Calvary Drive’, which is set to appear on the deluxe edition of their latest album ‘Better Days’.

The song itself feels quintessential Yellowcard in sound and substance. A buoyant piece of timeless pop-punk brimming with nostalgia, longing and endless Summer brightness. Fitting in perfectly with the reflective nature that defined the making of ‘Better Days’, it slots into the tracklisting perfectly.

Though the truth is, it is actually the first song the band put together for the record alongside Travis Barker.

Ryan Key had this to say when explaining the origins of the song:

“‘Calvary Drive’ was the very first demo we worked on with Travis Barker and our friend Nick Long. We were just getting a feel for working together over a weekend and had no idea that this idea would be the spark for what became Better Days. It’s fun to listen back now and hear where we started, and how much the sound evolved from there.”

The deluxe edition of ‘Better Days’ will be released on September 18 via Better Noise. It will include four new songs, including ‘Calvary Drive’.

Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale is the face of a new Deutsche Telekom campaign targeted at Gen Z reclaiming agency in a digitally overstimulating world. The campaign is called “Not A Passenger,” and actualized in a visual, inspired by the Cardigans’ 1998 hit “My Favorite Game,” where Teasdale fends off internet influencer demons pushing their manifestations, self-care routines, or AI slop. The video also features a small snippet of Wet Leg covering “My Favorite Game,” and it plays as an homage to the video.

After 64 years, English pop band the Hollies are calling it quits. The group started out in Manchester in 1962, and Graham Nash led them before leaving to form Crosby, Stills, & Nash in 1968. The Hollies’ string of ’60s and ’70s hits includes “Bus Stop,” “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother,” “Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress),” and “The Air That I Breathe.” In recent years, the lineup has included guitarist Tony Hicks and drummer Bobby Elliott, both of whom were in the band in the early ’60s. Yesterday, the Hollies shared in an instagram post that Hicks will no longer be able to tour due to health issues, and Elliott is stepping away from the stage in solidarity.

Dexter and The Moonrocks made their national TV debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and brought their biggest hit to show exactly what they are made of.

That song is ‘Freakin’ Out’, which has seen the band so viral across TikTok and allowed them to rack up 165 million streams on Spotify alone.

And in bringing it to national television, they demonstrate exactly why it has become such a sensation. Combining the slack heaviness of grunge with the intense catchiness of modern rock, it already feels like a timeless hit. And the quartet look the part too, very much at home on such a grand stage.

It’s another step toward total world domination, and they haven’t even got out of first gear yet.

The song is set to be on Dexter and The Moonrocks’ newly announced album ‘Friends I Don’t Like’, which will be released on October 02 via Severance Records/Big Loud Rock.

Drummer Ryan Fox had this to say about the record and what it represents for them:

“For a long time, people have been struggling to place us as a band. Coming up in the Texas music scene came with its own expectations and stigma. We always seemed to piss off the honky tonkers and underwhelm the old school metal heads, and to be quite frank, we never cared. People kept telling us we had to lean one way or the other, or else no one would ever care. This album feels like a culmination of us tuning out all the bullsh*t and just being the 4 blue-collar rockers from small-town Texas that we always were. This album feels like an ode to everything we love about our upbringing and everything we wanted to change when we were young. We couldn’t be prouder of the work we’ve put in, and our ability to stay ourselves. I couldn’t tell you what Dexter And The Moonrocks means. Are we country, grunge, alt rock, southern rock? Honestly, who cares. All I know is that we’re here and we aren’t going anywhere.”
