Album Review: Vreid – The Skies Turn Black
Norway’s Vreid return after five years with The Skies Turn Black. The album begins with a melodic subtlety that twists and weaves into heavier elements, immediately sounding like this is going to be a new musical horizon with atmospheric tones in abundance. For an opening track, “From These Woods” certainly does a remarkable job of … Continue reading Album Review: Vreid – The Skies Turn Black -

Bodysnatcher Unleash Their “Violent Obsession”
With their headlining U.K./E.U. tour kicking off tomorrow, deathcore outfit Bodysnatcher dropped another single off their forthcoming album Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home, titled “Violent Obsession”. And given the way the track plays out, that title fits damn well.
Speaking of the single, guitarist Kyle Carter explains exactly what inspired the track:
“’Violent Obsession’ to me expresses hate for a person to the extreme. It’s about revenge and what you wish you could do to this person who’s abused you, or taken advantage of you. It’s about obsessively living in that headspace of hatred and wanting them to feel how they made you feel.”
Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home will be released on April 10 via MNRK, but you can preorder your copy today.
HELL IS HERE, HELL IS HOME Tracklisting:
1. The Maker

Sicarius Returns From the Grave With Third Album, Nex – First Track Revealed
After years of silence, rebirth, and pure unrelenting fury, Adirondack Black Mass proudly announces the release of Nex, the third full-length from American black metal assassins Sicarius. Dropping April 10 on CD and cassette, this album marks the resurrection of a band too pissed off to stay dead.
SI_CA_RI_US
Latin for “Assassin, Murderer, Dagger-Man, Slayer, Killer” – and Sicarius lives up to the name. Formed in 2014 by Argyris and Carnage, Sicarius has always channeled the raw aggression of first- and second-wave black metal, infused with American thrash, death, goth, and rock elements to create a venomous, unforgettable sound.
Following their acclaimed debut, Serenade of Slitting Throats, and sophomore effort God of Dead Roots, the band faced lineup collapses and the seeming end of Sicarius. But from the ashes, Argyris and Carnage rebuilt, bringing in new vocalist Akefalos to unleash soaring vocals that pierce the darkness.
The result is Nex, a gritty, ultraviolent crime drama of an album: 10 tracks of loss, death, retribution, and fury that honor black metal tradition while staking their own path. Fans can now get a first taste of the band’s reborn aggression with the premiere of the opening track, which sets the stage for Sicarius’ next hunt.
Influences & Sound: Bathory, Rotting Christ, Dissection, Mayhem, Urgehal, Marduk, Absu, with shadows of Type O Negative woven throughout.
Sicarius is back. Sicarius is hungry. Sicarius wants to hunt again.
Preorders for CD and cassette are available now at Adirondack Black Mass and select metal retailers worldwide.

BLACKBRAID Unleashes New EP ‘Nocturnal Womb’ With Music Video Premiere
Indigenous solo black metal force BLACKBRAID is back, delivering a chilling new EP, Nocturnal Womb , set for independent release this Friday, March 6. To mark the occasion, BLACKBRAID has teamed up with Black Metal Promotion to premiere the EP’s lead single, “Celestial Bloodlust,” accompanied by a fierce live performance video. Shot by Moshmallows at Stockholm’s Kollektivet Livet Bar & Scen, the video captures the raw energy of Blackbraid’s ravenous Swedish fanbase.
