  • Gang Of Youths – “Things Take Time”

Not so youthful anymore, are they? It’s been four years since Gang Of Youths, the earnest and anthemic Australian rock band, released their deeply personal masterpiece angel in realtime. But they’ve been posting teasers from the studio, they recently returned to the stage with a residency at no less a venue than the Sydney Opera House, and now a whole new Gang Of Youths song is finally here.

  • “We feel that we have been seriously misled and let down”: GoFundMe launched for Indonesian metal bands stranded in Ireland after being allegedly abandoned by promoter

A Gofundme has been set up for three Indonesian heavy metal bands stranded in Ireland after they were allegedly let down by their promoter.

The extreme metal acts Deadsquad, Jasad and Death Vomit have been playing across Europe as part of the 2026 Cataclysmic Tour. Problems began on Sunday, August 16, when a planned show at the Pavilion in Cork that night was cancelled. Promoter Diablo Productions attributed the stoppage to “an unexpected issue with the van”.

The same day, the bands issued a joint statement explaining that their next show, at the Underworld in London on August 17, was also cancelled. They allege that Diablo has mishandled previously agreed-upon venue, accommodation and travel plans, including never formally hiring the Underworld for the show.

They claim to have received no response from Diablo since these problems arose.

They write: “We have made every effort to resolve these matters internally and have remained cooperative throughout the process. However, what happened demonstrated a serious lack of preparation, organisation, communication, and professionalism from the promoter.

“With multiple commitments left unfulfilled and the losses we have experienced, we feel that we have been seriously misled and let down by Diablo Productions.

“We are sharing this statement as a matter of transparency, and as a warning to everyone involved in the music industry, especially those working within the extreme music scene around the world.”

The Underworld team put out their own statement on August 17, confirming that Diablo had not paid for the venue and saying that they too have not heard from the promoter.

They lambast “rogue/cowboy promoters in the music industry”. “Shows don’t always sell well, but decisions should be made with agreement from all parties, and with decent advance notice,” they write.

As the bands remain stranded in Ireland, local Ailsa Dempsey says she’s letting them and their crew, 16 people total, stay at her home. She has set up a fundraiser seeking €10,000 (£8,557 / 11,575 USD) so that they can book flights and ground transportation to their next show at Eindhoven, Netherlands on August 20. Fans can donate via this link.

“Having seen firsthand what they’ve been through, I’m now organising this fundraiser on their behalf to help them get back on the road,” she writes.

She adds: “The clock is tight, the bands need to be in Eindhoven by August 20, just days away. Every donation, no matter the size, helps close the gap left by a promoter who didn’t hold up their end.”

Dempsey says that the remainder of the Cataclysmic Tour will be overseen by a new promoter, DF Bookings.

Diablo has not issued a public statement since the August 16 Cork cancellation. Metal Hammer has reached out to the company for comment.

  • ALCATRAZZ Shred Lord JOE STUMP Unveils New Solo Album “Lord Of The Strings” & Shares First Single “Full Throttle”

The Professor of Shred Joe Stump returns with the pedal firmly to the metal on his new solo album, Lord of the Strings, set for release on October 16th via Silver Lining Music. Pre-orders are available here from 18th August.

The first single taken from Lord of the Strings, aptly titled “Full Throttle”, kicks off the album in blistering style. An unfiltered blast of riff-driven firepower and shreddery, the track sets the tone for what’s to come, delivering a relentless introduction to the electrifying virtuosity that runs throughout the record.

“”Full Throttle” is a high-velocity track incorporating all the elements you’d expect to hear from me on one of my solo records,” Joe Stump affirms. “Fierce Metal riffage combined with strong classically influenced melodies and of course, the usual absurd amount of highly technical blazing shred guitar pyrotechnics. All of it is executed with a modern-day Ritchie Blackmore badass rock attitude. If you’re a guitar enthusiast or a metal fan, there’s certainly plenty of action on this one!”

Stump doesn’t just lay down the speed as he does in “Full Throttle” or revisit the classic grounds of traditional melodic heavy metal on tracks such as “Playing with Fire”, on this 12-track instrumental opus, Stump takes the guitar into lyrical territory with the likes of “In the Hall of the King” and “Eternity of Darkness” with his supremely detailed licks taking the lead narrative role. Stump also exercises moments of poetic acoustic reflection on “Den of Vipers” and “Leipzig 1722”, but overall, Lord of the Strings is a belting, relentless beast, and (as the man himself says) ‘a heavy metal guitar orgy’.

If you crave screaming guitars of Valhallic proportions, this one is for you. Stump is a guitarist who likes his riffs to roar and his leads to flash like lightning. Stump delivers every track with extraordinary power, precision, and purpose, pushing the guitar to its limits while never holding back. From searing riffs to jaw-dropping shred, Lord of the Strings is designed to hit hard, hit fast and leave its mark. This is guitar playing at full force and you won’t want to miss it.

Lord of the Strings will be released on standard CD digipak, special edition CD digipak, digital download, streaming and special D2C bundles.

W.A.S.P. Announces ‘1984 To Headless’ 2026 North American Tour With KK’s Priest

W.A.S.P. will celebrate the early years of its legendary career this fall with the “1984 To Headless” 2026 North American tour , featuring KK’s Priest as special guests.
The trek will kick off September 10 at The Magnolia in El Cajon, California, and will make more than 40 stops across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up October 31 at The Grove in Anaheim, California.
As the tour’s title suggests, W.A.S.P.’s set will focus heavily on material from the band’s first four studio albums: 1984’s self-titled debut, 1985’s The Last Command , 1986’s Inside The Electric Circus and 1989’s landmark The Headless Children .
According to W.A.S.P. mastermind Blackie Lawless , the tour will be more than a standard greatest-hits run.
“Playing those songs from those first four albums in a combined package like this is something we’ve never attempted before,” Lawless says. “In addition to the songs, the entire stage show will look like the album covers from those records will come alive right before your eyes!”
Lawless continued: “Complete with all the history and bombastic live presentations that’s made this band one of the great live bands in the theatrical rock world. When elements of those album covers start to come alive, right on the stage before the people, it’s gonna be something they’ll not soon forget!”
The W.A.S.P. frontman also expressed his enthusiasm about sharing the stage with KK’s Priest.
“I’m also equally thrilled to bring K.K.’s Priest and those iconic hits onboard for all the fall 2026 U.S. shows. Both bands… together… on the same stage… on the same night… where do I get my ticket? It’s gonna make the ‘1984 To Headless’ tour one for the rock ages!”
For metal fans, the pairing is a pretty damn formidable one.
KK’s Priest features legendary guitarist K.K. Downing , a founding member of Judas Priest who spent four decades helping define the sound of traditional heavy metal. Downing formed KK’s Priest after leaving Judas Priest and has continued his musical legacy with a band built around the classic metal sound that helped make him a household name among guitar fans.
    Downing says:
“KK’S PRIEST is going to be returning to the U.S. and Canada this September and October! We will be teaming up together with metal legends W.A.S.P. and with over 40 shows, this is going to be an epic metal and steel tour featuring lots of Priest classics! We look forward to seeing you all again very soon so please get on board early, we do not want you to miss this one.”
W.A.S.P.’s First Four Albums Take Center Stage

W.A.S.P. exploded out of Los Angeles in the early 1980s and quickly established itself as one of the most controversial, theatrical and visually outrageous bands in heavy metal.
Fronted by Lawless, the band became synonymous with elaborate stage shows, provocative imagery and a brand of hard rock and heavy metal that deliberately pushed boundaries.
The band’s first four records chart the development of W.A.S.P. from its raw, sleaze-infused beginnings into a more ambitious and musically expansive heavy metal act.
The self-titled W.A.S.P. arrived in 1984, followed by The Last Command in 1985. Inside The Electric Circus landed in 1986, while The Headless Children arrived in 1989 and is widely regarded as one of the band’s most ambitious and musically accomplished albums.
For the “1984 To Headless” tour, W.A.S.P. intends to revisit that entire era in a live production built around the imagery and atmosphere of those classic records.
And this isn’t simply nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake. Those albums helped establish W.A.S.P.’s identity and cemented the band’s place in heavy metal history.
    W.A.S.P. VIP Experience

W.A.S.P. will once again offer VIP packages that include a meet-and-greet with Blackie Lawless, a personal photo with the singer, autographs, access to the band’s traveling W.A.S.P. museum and a personal Q&A with Lawless.
