The enigmatic project 1+1+1 has released their latest single, “FOREST GAMP,” a track defined by its bare, quietly intense atmosphere. The song serves as a sonic metaphor for a metaphorical forest of growth—exploring the feeling of reaching for something that is never quite attained. • STEVEN WILSON Announce Two Special Royal Albert Hall Shows With Orchestra For October 2026

Steven Wilson has locked in two exclusive Royal Albert Hall concerts for October 2026, and he already confirmed these will be the only times fans can see him live that year. For listeners in prog, hard rock, and adjacent heavy circles, this is a short window with a larger production setup than a standard tour show.

Both shows will feature Steven Wilson with his band, Parallax Orchestra, and a full choir, which points to a set built for scale and detail rather than a stripped-down run.

“I’m pleased to announce that I will be returning to the Royal Albert Hall for two very special performances on 10/28/2026 and 10/29/2026. These will be my only live shows of 2026. For these performances, I will be joined on stage by my band, the Parallax Orchestra, and a full choir.”

There will be an artist pre-sale starting on 02/18/2026 at 10:00 AM. Individual, unique codes will be sent out via email to SW Substack subscribers ahead of the window opening.

Please note that codes are limited in supply, so we cannot guarantee that everybody signed up will receive a unique pre-sale code.

  • Watch: Official GRAMMYs 2026 Ozzy Osbourne Tribute

    Screenshot 2026-02-16 at 2.35

The 2026 Grammys happened earlier this month and of all the ceremonies in recent years, it honestly wasn’t half bad. Trevor Noah hosting was good, Bad Bunny winning everything was good, and their tribute to artists we lost recently was alright (they did NOT including Brent Hinds, which is a crime of the highest degree). One of the best things about that “In Memoriam” segment, and the whole ceremony honestly, was their Ozzy Osbourne tribute. Not surprising

Ozzy’s tribute featured some of the usual suspects—Post Malone, Slash and Duff McKagan from Guns N’ Roses, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, as well as producer Andrew Watt. They covered Black Sabbath’s classic “War Pigs,” and when the camera panned over to Sharon, Jack, and Kelly Osbourne, they were visibly emotional and moved. I was, too.

It’s hard to believe that our prince of darkness left us in July of last year. It’ll never seem real, and I highly doubt I’m the only one who feels that way. Everything was already going to shit, and it got so much worse after we lost him.

Go ahead and make yourself cry about losing Ozzy for the 1,000th time (or the millionth time, like me, right now), and watch the obviously very professionally shot tribute performance below.

  • CONVERGE: “LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH”

(Last Friday Converge released their new album Love Is Not Enough, and below you’ll find Wil Cifer’s thoughts about it.) It is always an exercise in objectivity when you are reviewing one of your favorite bands. For me, they are under more scrutiny as they set my expectations high, leaving me with certain boxes to […]

  • The Wright Valley Trio Drops Relentless Doom/Sludge LP ‘Leben ist Schmerz’

Released on February 6, 2026, The Wright Valley Trio’s latest offering, Leben ist Schmerz, is a formidable statement in the world of Doom and Sludge Metal. Comprising only two tracks—the title track and the instrumental “Steineschmelzer”—the album spans over 47 minutes of slow, repetitive, and deliberately exhausting soundscapes. Lyrically, the album is a stark confrontation […]
