BAY AREA DEATH METAL ALL-STARS DETH PROVIDER RE-LAUNCH SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM DIGITALLY VIA HECTIC RECORDS / BLEEDING PRIEST RECORDS – @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BAY AREA DEATH METAL ALL-STARS DETH PROVIDER RE-LAUNCH SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM DIGITALLY VIA HECTIC RECORDS / BLEEDING PRIEST RECORDS
Featuring Members of Death Angel, Exhumed, Necrot, Ripped to Shreds, Insanity, Molten & Deathgrave
For Fans Of: Entombed, Obituary, Old School Death Metal
The Bay Area has long been a breeding ground for some of the most influential and uncompromising metal on the planet. Now, a new death metal force forged from that legendary scene is bringing together a devastating collection of musicians with Deth Provider , the self-titled debut album from a true Bay Area death metal collective.
Originally released on vinyl June 19, 2026 through Hectic Records / Bleeding Priest Records , Deth Provider is now being re-launched digitally, giving metal fans worldwide the chance to experience this crushing collaboration of old school death metal brutality, groove, and atmosphere.
Born from the riffs of rhythm guitarist and songwriter Kenneth Dutton , Deth Provider began in 2024 when a collection of raw, phone-recorded ideas evolved into something much bigger. Dutton recruited Herman Bandala and Chris Corona of Molten to help bring the songs to life, but the search for the right drummer led to a legendary addition: Will Carroll of Death Angel .
What started as three songs quickly expanded into a nine-track death metal assault, with Carroll’s powerful double bass work providing the foundation needed to unleash Dutton’s crushing riffs.
From there, Deth Provider evolved into a Bay Area death metal supergroup featuring an impressive roster of scene veterans and rising forces. The band invited some of the region’s most respected musicians to contribute vocals, guitars, and solos, creating a unique collaboration that celebrates the history and future of Bay Area extreme metal.
The album features contributions from:
Will Carroll (Death Angel) – Drums
Herman Bandala (Molten) – Bass
Chris Corona (Molten) – Guitar Solos, Production, Recording, Cover Art
Kenneth Dutton – Rhythm Guitar, Songwriting
Brandon Bristol (Molten) – Vocals
Dave Gorsuch (Insanity) – Vocals, Guitar Solos
Matt Harvey (Exhumed) – Vocals, Guitar Solos
Andre Cornejo (Deathgrave) – Vocals
Andrew Lee (Ripped to Shreds) – Guitar Solos
Sonny Reinhardt (Necrot) – Guitar Solos
Rather than functioning as a traditional band lineup, Deth Provider embraced the idea of a Bay Area death metal gathering, splitting the album’s nine tracks among the various contributors and allowing each musician to bring their own signature sound to the project.
The result is a filthy, riff-driven death metal record rooted in the traditions of the genre while showcasing the personalities of some of the Bay Area’s most respected extreme metal musicians.
The name Deth Provider itself comes from an unlikely source. During an appearance on Zetro’s Toxic Vault , Forbidden bassist Matt Camacho discussed his former occupation as a caretaker and referred to himself as a “death provider.” Host Steve “Zetro” Sousa suggested it would make a great band name, and Kenneth Dutton knew he had found the perfect title.
Recorded and mixed by Chris Corona at Secret Studios in San Francisco, CA , and mastered by Justin Weis at S.S.F. , the self-titled debut features artwork created by Chris Corona, with insert design by Dave Gorsuch and jacket and label designs by Hectic Records.

GIBSON TV Revisits ANTHRAX’s 40-Year History With Restored CHARLIE BENANTE Interview
Gibson TV has brought back a rare interview with Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante, originally recorded for Metal and Monsters and now restored in 4K. The conversation covers the drummer’s early musical influences, the formation of Anthrax, major lineup changes, key albums, and the events that helped shape the band across four decades.
Benante starts with his childhood interest in music, including his discovery of Kiss and his first experiences behind the drum kit. He also talks about teaching himself guitar as a way to turn musical ideas into actual songs, along with his early ambition to become a comic book artist.
His path into Anthrax began after meeting Scott Ian and former bassist Danny Lilker. Benante recalls how their first time playing together set him on a completely different course. The interview then moves through the band’s earliest gigs, demos, work with Ross the Boss, and the long van trips that became part of life for a young metal band trying to build an audience.
One major section focuses on the period surrounding Spreading the Disease. Benante discusses writing the material before Anthrax had settled on a vocalist, followed by the arrival of Joey Belladonna. He also explains the circumstances behind writing “A.I.R.” after realizing the album needed something more.
The drummer revisits the creation of Among the Living and Anthrax’s place in the growing thrash metal movement. He then looks at the more hectic recording process behind State of Euphoria and the darker atmosphere surrounding Persistence of Time, offering insight into how the band’s circumstances influenced each period.
The interview also covers one of Anthrax’s most important crossover moments: the collaboration with Public Enemy on “Bring the Noise.” Benante explains that Chuck D initially rejected the concept before changing his mind after hearing Anthrax’s interpretation of the song. The partnership soon expanded into a joint tour, helping establish a connection between thrash and hip-hop that remains influential.
Lineup changes receive plenty of attention as well. Benante discusses Joey Belladonna leaving the band, John Bush stepping into the vocalist role, and the first time he heard Bush perform “Only.” He also addresses the period when metal’s popularity dropped and Anthrax had to fight through a difficult stretch to remain active.
The later chapters cover We’ve Come for You All, the reunion that helped mend old relationships, Worship Music, For All Kings, and the broader story of Anthrax reaching the 40-year mark.
For longtime Anthrax listeners, the restored footage offers an unusually personal account of the band’s history, told by a musician who was present for its defining moments. Benante’s recollections touch on the records, personnel changes, friendships, difficulties, and persistence that kept Anthrax moving forward.
Anthrax will be releasing their long-awaited 12th full-length studio album, Cursum Perficio, on September 18 via Megaforce Records, as the band’s first album in a decade following 2016’s For All Kings, which reached the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. The title is translated from Latin as “My journey has come to an end,” “My journey is over,” or “I complete my journey.” The meaning is presented as fitting for a record intended to represent a complete body of work.
Cursum Perficio is listed in multiple physical editions, including standard CD and several double-LP variants. The vinyl versions include black, red zoetrope, purple zoetrope, lilac, white, red ripple, and red/orange/yellow pressings, with several editions featuring pop-up gatefold packaging. A Target edition also includes a fabric patch based on the album artwork, while the Talk Shop Live version is signed.
Recording for Cursum Perficio began in earnest in 2022 at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles. The band worked with producer Jay Ruston to assemble what is described as its largest statement yet, drawing on its history while expanding the established sound. The finished album is characterized as angry, aggressive, and energetic, with Jay Ruston and the band handling production. To pre-order/pre-save, click here.

Top 10 Alice In Chains Songs

One of the prominent bands that led the Grunge Movement of the early nineties, Alice In Chains, was a part of the “Big Four of Grunge.” They produced a sound all their own, in stark contrast to the individual styles that became synonymous with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. It was a dash of Heavy Metal, with a caldron of gloom, despair, drug addiction, and personal demons stirred in nicely with that razor-sharp Alternative essence that would soon change the landscape of Generation X, among other things. Layne Staley had fronted the earlier band Alice N’ Chains before meeting Jerry
