Hypaethral Records is pleased to announce the reissue of Cosmolith, the debut full length from Canadian blackened death duo ARKTHEOS, out now for the first time on LP and CD.

The first glimmer of ARKTHEOS was kindled in 2015, guided by a vision that is at once introspective and violent, meditative yet visceral, embodying both darkness and the fire that cuts through it. D. Ibson (guitars, voice) began composing the band’s earliest material as a continuation of his previous work in melodic black metal, but with a stronger emphasis on muscular riffing, pummeling rhythms, and a deeper exploration of nature and spirituality. Years later, he joined forces with T. Pill (drums, synth), and together their shared vision took on a more defined and formidable shape

The band unleashed their first demo in late 2023, followed by their full-length debut, Cosmolith, released digitally in the Summer of 2025. Drawing from the intensity and chaos of both death and black metal, Cosmolith channels elemental forces and cosmic immensity into a series of psychedelic visions, hymns to forgotten gods and declarations of defiance in the face of infinity; the album drawing comparison to acts such as Urfaust and Bolt Thrower.

Comments Ibson, “Cosmolith came from the desire to harness the energy and scope of extreme metal and channel it to express genuine awe and wonder. It is a dense psychedelic sonic tumult that bridges death metal and black metal, built around an emotional core of ecstasy and revelation.”

“It is the violence of a Summer storm, the crashing waves of the ocean, a thundering herd of wild animals. It is the sound of gazing into infinity and getting lost in the stars; of a massive ancient forest, teeming with life and full of secrets; and of a mortal being grappling with such vastness.”

“It is the blood rushing through your veins and your primal instincts roaring to life. These songs are anthems to the nameless gods and spirits who embody each of these.”

Cosmolith, which features cover art by Adam Burke, was recorded by ARKTHEOS at Black Hall and mastered by Roland Rodas at Cavern of Echoes. The record is available now on vinyl (Ltd 200 on Meteorite) and CD (Ltd. 200 Pro-pressed CDs with 4-panel digipak).

  • ric tunes – Ghost In The Signal

An emotionally charged alt/pop rock experience is delivered by ric tunes with “Ghost In The Signal”! A track that turns inner conflict into a powerful piece of songwriting. The production carries a polished rock edge while leaving enough space for the lyrics to remain central, giving the song a strong sense of intimacy beneath its broader sonic presentation.

At its core, “Ghost In The Signal” captures the exhausting reality of hiding parts of yourself to fit expectations. The writing moves through frustration, self-questioning, and the realization that constantly trying to appear “normal” can become its own form of exhaustion. There is a compelling shift in perspective as the song reaches toward acceptance, replacing self-doubt with the understanding that being different does not mean being broken.

It balances accessible melodies with honest storytelling, creating an alt/pop rock track that feels personal, reflective, and ultimately empowering for the masses to feel!
