Pulp have shared the first trailer for their forthcoming documentary film What Do You Do For An Encore?, and announced its release date.

Directed by Garth Jennings (Sing, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy), the 90-minute film promises to chart the Sheffield band’s “extraordinary journey from obscurity to cultural touchstone”, according to a press statement.

The press release goes on to say that the documentary, which is narrated by frontman Jarvis Cocker, “fuses the brilliantly choreographed stage spectacle of Pulp’s biggest ever arena show – part of the global tour for More, the band’s first album in 24 years – with four decades of colourful, never-seen-before archival material”, and that it will serve as “a vibrant tribute to a band of brilliant misfits, whose unique blend of irony, rebellion, and razor-sharp social commentary resonated with generations of listeners and helped define an era of British culture.”

“You’re invited to come and experience a night you’ll remember for the rest of your life,” a voiceover in the trailer promises.

Global distributor MUBI have announced that What Do You Do For An Encore? will be screened in cinemas in the UK and Ireland for one night only on September 18, and US cinemas on September 24.

Following its brief cinema run, the film will be streamed exclusively on MUBI, from a date yet to be announced.

Accompanying the film, Pulp are releasing Live!, a new live album which doubles up as the film’s soundtrack.

“A concert is an event where songs come back to life,” says Jarvis Cocker. “That’s why this album is called Live! It’s both a statement of fact (it’s a recording of a live band) & a challenge (come on! Everyone come alive!).”

Live! will be released via Rough Trade on August 28, and will be available on double vinyl, double CD and via digital streaming services.

Sleep Token has reached another major milestone in the United States, as the RIAA has officially awarded platinum certification to the band’s third studio album, Take Me Back To Eden. The breakthrough single “The Summoning” has also received gold certification.

Released through Spinefarm on May 19, 2023, Take Me Back To Eden has surpassed two billion streams worldwide. The record completed the trilogy that began with Sundowning in 2019 and continued with This Place Will Become Your Tomb in 2021, helping establish Sleep Token as one of the fastest-rising names in modern heavy music. It also became the first platinum-certified album in Spinefarm’s history.

The success of Take Me Back To Eden pushed Sleep Token into arena-headlining territory, with the band selling out two U.S. tours following the album’s release.

Its follow-up, Even In Arcadia, arrived on May 9, 2025, through RCA Records and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album remained on the chart for 36 consecutive weeks and earned RIAA gold certification on January 26, 2026, further strengthening the band’s position at the top of the modern rock and metal scene.

The album also secured Sleep Token its first Grammy Award nominations at the 68th Grammy Awards. “Emergence” was nominated for Best Metal Performance, while “Caramel” received a nomination for Best Rock Song.

Drummer II also celebrated his first Grammy win thanks to his guest appearance on Yungblud’s “Changes (Live From Villa Park)”, adding another achievement to the band’s growing list of accolades.

Critics responded positively to Even In Arcadia, highlighting its blend of atmosphere, technical musicianship, and emotional songwriting. Reviews described the record as “jaw-dropping” and praised its “ghostly beauty and arpeggiated madness.” The album’s release was backed by Sleep Token‘s first completely sold-out U.S. arena tour, another milestone in the group’s continued international growth.

Formed in London in 2016, Sleep Token has built its identity around anonymity, with its members performing in masks and cloaks. To date, only the pseudonymous Vessel and drummer II have been officially credited with writing or performing on the band’s four studio albums.

Formed in December 2024, Bitter is a slamming beatdown deathcore band hailing from Montreal, Lanaudière, and Gatineau, Quebec. The project began as a father-and-son vision between Yan Chatel and Kilian Langlois-Chatel before expanding into a full lineup united by a shared obsession with extreme music and uncompromising heaviness.
