  • LOUDER THAN LIFE Partners With SPOTIFY For 2026 Festival Allowing Fans To Connect Like Never Before

Danny Wimmer Presents (DWP) and Spotify have announced a brand new partnership for Louder Than Life 2026, introducing new ways for fans to dive into the lineup, discover artists, and get festival-ready before the gates even open. Fans can start listening now with the official Louder Than Life x Spotify co-branded playlist, and through the Louder Than Life experience in the Spotify app, fans can get closer to the artists hitting the stage than ever before.

Louder Than Life returns to the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY, September 17-20 for its 12th edition, delivering the largest lineup in the festival’s history and the biggest bill ever assembled by producer Danny Wimmer Presents — 4 days, 7 stages, nearly 200 bands, topped by My Chemical Romance, Iron Maiden, TOOL, Limp Bizkit, Pantera, Pierce the Veil, Gojira, Danny Elfman, The Prodigy, Sublime, Papa Roach, and so much more. Passes are on sale now here.

Elements of the partnership include a dedicated Louder Than Life destination on Spotify to house select festival content, serving as the ultimate streaming destination where fans can find performance videos highlighting key moments from the weekend. Fans can get ready for the weekend by listening to the official Louder Than Life Festival playlist. On-site, specialty artist content will be captured, and a limited co-branded Louder Than Life x Spotify merch item will be available for sale. Following the festival, select performance videos will be released exclusively in the Louder Than Life hub, as well as behind-the-scenes social content on Spotify and Louder Than Life social handles.

“Louder Than Life has always been about more than four days of music; it’s about the community that surrounds this festival and the connection our fans have with these artists year-round,” said Chamie McCurry, Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager of Danny Wimmer Presents. “Partnering with Spotify gives us an opportunity to extend that experience well beyond the festival grounds, creating new ways for fans to discover the lineup before they arrive in Louisville and relive some of those incredible moments long after the weekend is over. Spotify is already where so much music discovery and fandom happens, which makes this a really natural partnership for Louder Than Life.”

Louder Than Life in 2025 brought together over 240,000 fans and continues to retain its title of America’s Largest Rock, Metal & Punk Festival more than a decade after debuting in Louisville in 2014. The festival is produced by Danny Wimmer Presents, one of the largest independent producers of destination music festivals in America.

“Rock and metal fans are some of the most passionate in the world, and Spotify is always looking for new ways to celebrate and deepen their connection to the music they love,” says Chissy Nkemere Cherian, Artist Partnerships at Spotify. “The partnership with Louder Than Life brings that to life, showing up for the community in a real way and amplifying the listeners and moments that make this scene unlike anything else in music.”

In addition to the expansive music, all Louder Than Life passholders will receive free access to amusement rides inside Kentucky Kingdom, which became part of the festival footprint in 2025 and will be open exclusively to festival attendees.

  • MÖTLEY CRÜE RELEASES PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED 1981 DEMO ‘NOBODY KNOWS WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE LONELY’ – @thebeast

Mötley Crüe has released a previously unreleased 1981 demo of “Nobody Knows What It’s Like To Be Lonely,” offering fans an early glimpse into the band’s formative days in Los Angeles.
The track comes from the band’s March 1981 demo sessions and will be included on an upcoming 45th-anniversary deluxe limited-edition box set celebrating Mötley Crüe’s classic debut album, Too Fast For Love. The collection is due October 30.
An official video for “Nobody Knows What It’s Like To Be Lonely” has also been released.

Originally self-released through Mötley Crüe’s own Leathür Records label in November 1981, Too Fast For Love was initially pressed in a limited run of just 900 LPs. The band’s growing reputation on the Los Angeles club scene soon attracted major-label attention, leading to a deal with Elektra Records in early 1982.
Elektra issued a remixed and remastered version of Too Fast For Love in August 1982 with a revised track listing. The album eventually went platinum and helped launch Mötley Crüe into the center of the Los Angeles hard rock and metal explosion that would dominate the charts and MTV throughout the 1980s.
The new box set will bring together both versions of the landmark debut, along with a substantial collection of previously unreleased and archival recordings.
The 1981 Leathür Records version of Too Fast For Love will be available exclusively as part of the box set, alongside the 1982 Elektra version.
Also included are two LPs documenting Mötley Crüe’s 1982 performance at Perkins Palace, featuring early live versions of songs including “Looks That Kill,” “Shout At The Devil” and “Knock ‘Em Dead, Kid,” several of which would appear on the band’s 1983 classic Shout At The Devil.
The collection also contains the complete five-track March 1981 demo session, a replica 7-inch single featuring “Stick To Your Guns” and “Toast Of The Town,” and a reproduction of the band’s original 1981 demo cassette.
A 100-page hardcover photo book, poster and additional memorabilia round out the package.

Every year since 1991, MusiCares, the Recording Academy’s charitable arm, has honored a Person Of The Year at a gala on Grammys weekend. Sometimes they give the award to persons, plural, rather than a person, singular. In 2027, those persons will be U2.

  • Jon Courtney (Pure Reason Revolution) Interview – Terrifying Angels

Progressive alternative rockers Pure Reason Revolution return with their new album ‘Terrifying Angels’, their fourth since reemerging in 2019. The record will be released on September 25th, 2026, with the band set to embark on a UK headline tour in November 2026.

Frontman/guitarist Jon Courtney joins the podcast to talk about the new Pure Reason Revolution album ‘Terrifying Angels’, songwriting, touring, and more.

Check out the podcast on these services:

Following the somewhat gentler, moving themes of sorrow and transience guiding 2024’s ‘Coming up to Consciousness’, the new sound is dark and potent, full of savage riffs, ominous soundscapes, and thrashing, grungy layers – melded, of course, with the band’s signature transcendent harmonies. “The last record was more chill, so it just felt terribly natural to do something grittier, heavier and more aggressive,” Courtney explains.

The core trio of Jon Courtney, Annicke Shireen & Ravi Kesavaram are joined by a cast of collaborators for the album, featuring old friends and new partners alike. The eponymous song was born out of a jam session in Portland, Oregon, with founding bandmate Greg Jong, who also co-wrote “Rumination Ruin”. Meanwhile “Haywire Heart” and “Hold Your Wrath” – respectively the shortest and longest tracks in PRR’s discography – were both written alongside Paul Mullen, the alt-rock legend who fronted Losers and Yourcodenameis:milo. Finally, “Below Radiance” grew out of a section from a composition by Courtney’s mentee Kenny Fitzgerald.

    The full track-listing is below:
    1. Spin Like Fire 03:31
    2. Black-Arrow Acrobats 08:38
    3. Haywire Heart 02:42

This immersive sound creates an almost magical atmosphere that envelops the listener entirely. The high, ethereal frequencies of the guitars stimulate neural pathways, generating vivid, dreamlike visions.

Listening with closed eyes may allow anyone to travel and explore distant horizons. The music connects one to a universal energy that feels grounding and expansive.

The guitars shine without overwhelming the listener. Their delicate presence is complemented by pads that broaden the auditory spectrum. These elements invite contemplation of infinity, encouraging the mind to wander freely. This is an instrumental composition that deserves to be heard by everyone.

Sabo Vano – Sound and Atmosphere

The arrangement and instrumentation highlight a balance that elevates the listener’s experience. Each part of the song builds towards a layered richness that never loses its clarity. As the track progresses, it becomes an exploration of sonic textures. The feeling of floating is an underlying theme, inviting introspection and escape.

The subtle nuances capture attention and push the imagination to new heights. The artistry here is in composing something that evokes deep feelings without the need for lyrics.

Sabo Vano – Performance and Production

The interplay between different instruments highlights an intricate balance. The arrangements create moments of tension that dissolve into tranquility, provoking deep emotional responses. Such fluctuations enhance the overall experience, driving home the ethereal quality of the music.

  • “Step into the Night” — Then Comes Silence Celebrates Rebirth in Video for “Remaker Redeemer”

Hands in the sky and then we die

Our hearts have joined the thousand

We take a step into the night

Opening our eyes brings a new dawn

The Goth subculture has survived for nearly half a century partly because every few years somebody remembers that death can be absurd. Strip away that humour and the genre starts resembling a homeowners’ association for people with excellent boots: approved haircuts, approved records, approved photographs taken beside approved statues in approved cemeteries. Then Comes Silence have enough mileage behind them to recognize the danger. Remaker Redeemer finds the Stockholm trio Alex Svenson, Jonas Fransson, and Hugo Zombie treating the graveyard as a playground again.

Then Comes Silence fortunately remembers that a black shirt is still a shirt. The album itself is conceived as a diptych, with “Requiem” representing darkness and “Ballroom” representing light. “Everything exists in contrast,” the band says.

Remaker Redeemer introduces the “Ballroom” half of the band’s forthcoming Requiem Ballroom, due November 20. The band explains that the song “is about new life, being reborn with old sins washed away. A kind of cleansing, a fresh start, and the feeling of beginning again. The choice of instruments and sounds on this track was also a way to explore something a bit different this time.”

Svenson’s bass plants every movement firmly beneath the feet, while Fransson’s drums drive the song with a dark, danceable force reminiscent of Killing Joke’s Night Time era. Svenson’s grave, commanding vocals strengthen the comparison, while Zombie’s guitar cuts through with a bright, sharp edge. There is genuine pleasure in the performance, closer to liberation than solemn contemplation, which suits a song concerned with starting over. Rebirth here apparently requires amplification, eyeliner, and several people dressed as failed medical experiments.

The song’s lyrics treat death as a passage toward renewal, moving from surrender and darkness toward another existence. Closed eyes, raised hands, joined hearts, and the arrival of dawn suggest a collective transformation, while the repeated call to a remaker and redeemer turns rebirth into an act of cleansing: old sins washed away, one life surrendered, and another beginning on the other side.

The video makes the album’s concept pleasantly mischievous. Renewal takes place among monsters. Cleansing occurs in a room full of freaks. Life returns while death watches from the front row. Directed by Damon Zurawski of Future Legends Films, the video places the band before a congregation of ghouls, Droogs, demons, grotesques, and evil babies. Yes, evil babies that look like escapees from the bargain bin of some forbidden 1970s horror shop, which immediately gives the clip more personality than another five minutes of serious men staring into industrial fog.

Zurawski photographs the performance beautifully while allowing the absurdity to breathe. Svenson holds court on bass and vocals with severe composure while Fransson hammers away behind him and Zombie sends guitar across the room in sharp strokes. Around them, the assembled creatures stare, convulse, leer, and generally behave like the clientele of a nightclub whose liquor license was issued by Satan.

Watch the video for Remaker Redeemer below:

Rock music periodically develops the delusion that dignity equals importance, an especially fatal mistake for any subculture born from makeup, theatrical clothing, cheap smoke machines, horror films, and teenagers trying to scandalize their parents. The original punk impulse understood spectacle as provocation. Somewhere along the road, certain corners of underground culture began treating their uniforms with the solemnity of military dress.

That final joke may be the best one. Subcultures survive through mutation, bad taste, risk, exaggeration, and people willing to make fools of themselves in public. Then Comes Silence understands that preservation without mischief eventually becomes embalming. Remaker Redeemer puts the corpse back on its feet, gives it a bass guitar, and lets the evil babies dance.

Then Comes Silence are currently on tour in mainland Europe. Find more info and tickets for all upcoming shows here.
