Through an emotional statement recently shared on her social media, Julieta Ruiseco announced her departure from Kälad, bringing an important chapter with the Mexican band to a close. News that has undoubtedly touched those of us who have closely followed her journey, admiring the passion, strength, and sensitivity she brought to the project throughout the years.

From FemMetal, we would like to dedicate a few very special words to Julieta – not only for her talent and contribution to the music scene, but also from a deeply personal place.

For me, Julieta will always hold a very special meaning. She was one of the first artists to believe in this project and, in addition, she became my very first interview for FemMetal, something I will never forget. At a time when everything was just beginning, she welcomed me with kindness, warmth, and generosity, and for that I will always be deeply grateful.

Over time, I had the fortune of discovering not only an incredible artist, but also a wonderful, genuine, strong, and deeply human person. Beyond the music, I also want to thank you for your friendship, your support, your kindness, and for all those shared moments that make certain people hold a special place in our lives.

Although cycles change and paths take different directions, it makes me happy to know that this new chapter will bring new projects, dreams, and opportunities. I have no doubt that you will continue to shine in everything you do, because your passion and essence always leave a mark.

From FemMetal, and also on a personal level, I want to wish you the very best of luck in all your current and future projects. Thank you for the music, for your trust, for being part of this journey, and above all, thank you for crossing paths with me.

This is not goodbye. It is simply a “see you soon”, because I am certain our paths will cross again very soon and we will do more interviews together.

  • The SatchVai Band Turn Virtuosity Into Something Bigger at the Ryman Auditorium

From Guitar Heroes to Bandmates: The SatchVai Band Take Over the Ryman Auditorium

SATCHVAI BAND LIVE AT THE RYMAN AUDITORIUM IN NASVILLE, TN ON 5/7/26

For decades, the pairing of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai has felt inevitable. Their names have long been linked through guitar magazines, G3 tours, and a shared history that dates back to Vai taking lessons from Satriani as a teenager on Long Island. At Ryman Auditorium, the SatchVai Band finally pushed that relationship into something deeper than a collaborative jam session. This was not two virtuosos trading solos for nostalgia. It felt like the launch of a real band with chemistry, structure, and purpose.

With a soon-to-be-released 10-song SatchVai Band album on the horizon, Satriani and Vai have assembled a lineup filled with musicians equally capable of supporting their vision. Holding down rhythm guitar duties was Pete Thorn, while Kenny Aronoff handled drums and Marco Mendoza anchored the low end on bass. Having seen both guitar legends separately before, seeing them share the same stage felt like an opportunity that could not be missed.

The audience inside the Ryman understood they were witnessing something different from a standard guitar clinic. This was not simply Joe and Steve endlessly shredding scales into the night air, but actual songs carefully structured around their individual styles of playing. Satriani leaned into melody and groove while Vai countered with sharp phrasing and unpredictable runs, creating a balance that rarely felt forced.

The material itself proved that the project was built around collaboration rather than competition. At no point did it feel like either guitarist was trying to outplay the other. Instead, the performance highlighted how naturally their musical ideas flowed together, something that could only come from decades of familiarity and mutual respect.

One of the strongest aspects of the performance was how often the band format took priority over individual showmanship. The setlist balanced solo material with songs reworked specifically for the SatchVai Band format. Tracks originally built around a single guitarist carried expanded arrangements that gave both players room to contribute without overcrowding the songs. That approach helped the night avoid becoming exhausting, especially for an audience already familiar with each guitarist’s reputation.

One of the biggest highlights of the evening came when Vai unveiled his Hydra guitar. The one-of-a-kind instrument was specially designed for him and features three necks, including 7-string and 12-string guitars, a 4-string 3/4-scale bass neck, 13 sympathetic harp strings, and a half-fretless neck. The instrument can be heard prominently on Vai’s track “Teeth of the Hydra.” Watching him navigate such an unconventional creation in a live setting was impressive, especially considering how complex the instrument appears at first glance.

Throughout the night, the audience was treated to classics including “Surfing with the Alien,” “Satch Boogie,” “Zeus in Chains,” “Little Pretty,” and the SatchVai track “Dancing.” In a genre where instrumental rock can sometimes disappear beneath excess, Satriani and Vai kept the focus on connection — with each other, with the band, and with an audience eager to witness two longtime collaborators finally operating as a true unit.

Without a doubt, Ryman Auditorium added another memorable night to its historic legacy with the arrival of the SatchVai Band.

MEPHISTO ODYSSEY RELEASES 2026 REMASTER OF THE ICONIC “CRUCIFIED DUB” MIX OF STATIC-X’S “PUSH IT” — WAYNE STATIC’S FIRST CREATIVE COLLABORATION WITH MIKAEL JOHNSTON — IN CELEBRATION OF THE TRACK’S RIAA GOLD CERTIFICATION
Dark, driving rework of the original 1999 maxi-single returns with renewed sonic force and brand-new visuals as Static-X’s industrial-dance anthem officially reaches Gold status
San Francisco Bay Area / Los Angeles, CA — May 19, 2026 — In celebration of Static-X’s groundbreaking 1999 single “Push It” from the platinum-certified album Wisconsin Death Trip receiving its first-ever RIAA Gold certification on April 21, 2026, Mephisto Odyssey founder Mikael Johnston has released a powerful 2026 remaster of the legendary “Crucified Dub” mix.
Originally featured on the official Push It maxi-single, the dark, hypnotic reinterpretation now returns with fully updated mastering from Johnston’s Pop Twist Studios, alongside a new visual presentation directed by Matt Zane.
This release carries significant artistic and historical weight. The original 1999 “Crucified Dub” marked the first collaboration between Mikael Johnston and late Static-X frontman Wayne Static. At the time, Wayne actively participated in the creative process and expressed strong enthusiasm for the final version. That initial connection sparked a long-running creative partnership that went on to include the co-written track “CRASH,” featured on the Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker soundtrack with a Len Wiseman-directed music video starring both Wayne and Mikael, as well as Mephisto Odyssey’s official remix of Static-X’s “Cold,” among additional collaborations.
“This was the first thing Wayne Static and I ever worked on together,” says Johnston. “He gave input during its creation and really loved the final result. That moment set everything in motion for our later collaborations, including ‘CRASH,’ my remix of ‘Cold,’ and more.”
The 2026 remaster preserves the raw industrial energy and dance-floor pulse of the original while enhancing clarity, depth, and impact for modern systems and audiences. It arrives as part of Mephisto Odyssey’s ongoing 2026 catalog revival, reintroducing pioneering San Francisco industrial-electronic works to a new generation.
Watch the official 2026 music video:

Stream / Info: Available now on YouTube with new visuals by Matt Zane. Additional catalog re-releases and new Mephisto Odyssey vault material will continue rolling out throughout 2026.
Mephisto Odyssey, led by Mikael Johnston, has been a defining force in West Coast electronic and industrial music since 1993. With official remixes for Static-X, Jane’s Addiction, and others, along with soundtrack placements including Hostel and releases on Warner Bros., the project’s deep connection to Wayne Static and the nu-metal/industrial era makes this remaster both a historical milestone and a heartfelt tribute.

  • Caleb Shomo’s Next Chapter: Beartooth Reveals Massive Fall 2026 U.S. Tour Following ‘Pure Ecstasy’ Reveal

    beartooth-2026

STREAM THE METAL BREAKDOWN DAILY BELOW:

Beartooth isn’t just a band; for Caleb Shomo, it’s a living, breathing document of survival. Today, the modern rock titans officially turned the page to their most ambitious chapter yet, announcing the U.S. leg of the ‘Pure Ecstasy’ World Tour. Hot on the heels of their sixth album announcement, this massive Live Nation-produced run is set to sweep across North America this fall, bringing a lineup that feels less like a concert and more like a community celebration of hard-won clarity.

The ‘Pure Ecstasy’ Era: Chaos Meets Clarity

Beartooth has always been about the “basement” energy—that raw, instrument-playing-every-role honesty Caleb Shomo pioneered in 2013. But with the upcoming release of Pure Ecstasy (dropping August 28 via Fearless Records), the band is moving from the basement to the stratosphere. The 11-track record is described as a exploration of personal growth, already teased by the explosive title track and the hit single “Free.”

To celebrate, Beartooth is bringing along a high-octane support package featuring Don Broco, Magnolia Park, and Windwaker. The tour kicks off on November 11 at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston and will hit iconic rooms like New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom and the Hollywood Palladium before wrapping up in Wheatland, California, just before the holidays.

    Breaking Records and Building Connections

The statistics behind Beartooth are staggering—over 1.3 billion streams and back-to-back No. 1 hits from their 2023 masterpiece The Surface—but for the fans, it’s about the connection. This tour represents the “tipping point” Forbes recently predicted, as Beartooth officially transitions into a premier arena-level headliner.

Tickets are expected to vanish quickly. Fans can get all ticketing info at this location.
