  • Neurosis Announce Fall Tour

If you ever saw underground metal greats Neurosis live, at really any point in the band’s history, then you already know they were truly transcendent in person. Earlier this year, the band made an out-of-nowhere return, replacing disgraced ex-frontman Scott Kelly with their contemorary Aaron Turner, known for leading bands like Isis and SUMAC. The moment that they made that announcement, Neurosis dropped the monster surprise album An Undying Love For A Burning World. It’s fucking awesome. Neurosis made their live return at Montana’s Fire In The Mountains fest last month, playing their first show in seven years, and they played Asheville with Acid Bath, Melvins, and Kylesa last weekend. Now, they’re hitting the road once again.

  • Party Dozen Announce New Album 21 Bum Salute: Hear “Euro Stomper”

Earlier this year, Party Dozen prepared for a tour with Amyl And The Sniffers with “Special Unit,” the kind of rowdy anthem that the Amyl And The Sniffers fans probably loved. The Australian drum and saxophone duo is announcing their new album 21 Bum Salute today, and the new single “Euro Stomper” is another uninhibited banger.

  • Slipknot Share Crushing New Track ‘Arsenal’

Slipknot have made their return with a new track titled ‘Arsenal’, and it is as hectic and heavy as you would expect it to be.

The song is the first new music from the band in three years, picking up where 2023’s EP ‘Adderall’ left off. It is also the band’s first track being shared via (sic)est Records.

The accompanying video is also a (sic)est Films production, by the way.

The song itself feels like a culmination of everything the band have come to be defined over the years. The caustic energy that festered beneath their earliest releases, matched with the melodic sensability that has come to bolster their recent output.

The result is an insatiably catchy piece of timeless metal, brimming with record scratches, noodling solos and unhinged and animalistic bellows.

And the video is a headfuck, to say the least. Part body horror, part alien abduction, part folklore nightmare.

    It is, of course, Slipknot.

  • Iron Maiden | September 5, 2006 | Sports Illustrated Stadium | Harrison, NJ – Concert Review

    Review by Ralph Greco, Jr.

The amazing, state-of-the-art back projection screen, the unique three-guitar attack they ply better than mostly anyone these days, Bruce Dickinson’s amazing energy at the ripe old age of sixty-eight (and his many costume changes), the chanting crowd and “Eddie” lumbering out on stage a time or two — this was Iron Maiden out on their Run for Your Lives tour celebrating their 50th anniversary.

It’s ‘been a moment,’ as the kids say, since I have seen this granddaddy hard rock juggernaut, my last and only time somewhere deep in the 1980s. Surely, Dickinson has lost a little of his high range, and fans, even casual ones like me, would have preferred to see long-time drummer Nicko McBrain pounding the skins, even though his replacement, Simon Dawson, was surely on top of his skins.

Opening with “The Ides of March,” as the big screen ran us through a cartoon landscape of bars and streets of Maiden lore (complete with their mascot Eddie here and there all the way) and into “Murder in the Rue Morgue,” this was a fantastic phantasmagoric two-hour assault, with songs featured from the band’s first nine albums.

The highlights included an early rollout of “The Number of the Beast,” and “Two Minutes to Midnight,” with the crowd singing along to both. “Infinite Dreams,” as explained by Dickinson, is a song that hasn’t been featured in a live setting in 35 years. The long-form “Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” had the most spectacular film accompaniment of the night with big ships and swirling ghost forms. “Run To The Hills” had the crowd, once again, singing along.

During “Hallowed Be Thy Name,” Dickinson disappeared on a back riser only to appear in the video playing behind him, which led to his ceremonial hanging by death. All while the band played on. The encore began with “Aces High” and “Fear Of The Dark” with Dickinson as a lamp-carrying guide throughout. “Wasted Years,” ended the two-hour show.

  • Two Ravens Carry SCHANDMAUL Into the Sternensegler Era

Two voices, minimalist instrumentation and a nearly four-minute guitar solo bring SCHANDMAUL’s next chapter to a close before it has even begun. The album arrives on September 11, 2026, through Napalm Records and marks SCHANDMAUL’s first […]
