    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Metal Devastation PR Clients Featured in Latest Issue of Scream Magazine with Multiple Album Reviews
Metal Devastation PR is proud to announce that several of its roster artists have been featured in the latest issue of the respected Norwegian metal publication Scream Magazine . Known for its no- nonsense and honest criticism within the international metal community, the magazine recently published reviews highlighting releases from Everfelt , Iron Bones , and Martin Templum Domini .
First up is Everfelt and their debut album Stirring To Wake , which the magazine describes as the band’s take on psychedelic groove metal. While the reviewer noted that the record carries a raw, demo- like feel and suggested the songs could benefit from additional development, the album nonetheless marks the band’s official arrival on the international metal radar and introduces listeners to their experimental approach to groove- driven heaviness.
Chilean heavy metal outfit Iron Bones received a strong response for their third full- length album Poison Riot . The review praised the band’s energetic blend of heavy and speed metal with elements of black and death metal, highlighting the album’s riff- driven songwriting and infectious momentum. While the critic mentioned the production could benefit from a thicker sound, the overall assessment emphasized that the record is packed with solid songs and deserves attention from metal fans worldwide.
Barcelona- based progressive metal project Martin Templum Domini also earned praise for their album Mankind . The release was noted for its powerful, technically detailed sound and unique structure, featuring largely instrumental compositions with occasional vocal appearances from legendary singer Göran Edman . The review highlighted the album’s dynamic opening tracks and complex progressive arrangements, describing the music as heavy, fast, and full of intricate details that demand repeated listens.
The feature also arrives during an emotional moment for the band, as the release follows the passing of drummer Mario Vico shortly before the album’s launch. Despite the loss, the band proceeded with the release, allowing the record to stand as a powerful testament to his musicianship.
Metal Devastation PR continues to work with underground and emerging metal artists across the globe, helping them gain exposure in international publications and connect with fans in the worldwide metal community.
The latest issue of Scream Magazine is available now and features these reviews alongside extensive coverage of the global metal scene.

  • Doja Cat Walks Back Timothée Chalamet Criticism, Admits She Was Virtue Signaling

Earlier this week Doja Cat joined the legions of people defending opera and ballet in the wake of comments Timothée Chalament made about the art forms. “I’m sure you can walk into an opera theater right now, seats will be filled out, and nobody’s saying a word as the performance is going because everybody has that much respect for it,” Doja Cat said in a since-deleted video, referencing Chalamet’s recent claims that “no one cares about” it. Sorry to everybody in the opera community who are already mad, but now, Doja’s walking back those comments.

  • Six Feet Under Announce Next to Die Album – New Single “Unmistakable Smell of Death” Streaming Now – @thebeast

Six Feet Under Announce Next to Die Album – New Single “Unmistakable Smell of Death” Streaming Now

American death metal legends Six Feet Under are back with a brand new studio album. Titled Next to Die , the record is set for release on April 24 via Metal Blade Records . Alongside the announcement, the band has unleashed the brutal new single “Unmistakable Smell of Death” and confirmed a massive North American tour for Summer 2026.
For longtime fans of classic death metal, this release marks another major milestone for a band that has been grinding since the mid-1990s.

A New Chapter in the Six Feet Under Legacy

Next to Die will be the 15th full-length album from Six Feet Under , continuing a legacy that began with their 1995 debut Haunted . The band was founded by vocalist Chris Barnes after departing Cannibal Corpse , where he had previously helped shape the early sound of death metal.
The new album features 12 tracks and showcases a creative direction that blends raw aggression with the groove that helped define the band’s early sound.
Guitarist Jack Owen explains that the songwriting approach naturally split the album into two distinct sonic styles.
One half focuses on fast, aggressive death metal , while the other leans into groove-driven riffs reminiscent of classic Six Feet Under material . This dual concept gave the band room to experiment while staying true to their roots.
Barnes emphasized tempo during the writing process, encouraging Owen to craft songs inspired by the BPM and feel of the band’s earlier releases.
The result is an album that balances old-school brutality with thick, crushing grooves , giving longtime fans exactly what they expect while still pushing forward creatively.

“Unmistakable Smell of Death” Sets the Tone

The first single from Next to Die , “Unmistakable Smell of Death,” delivers everything fans love about the band: punishing riffs, relentless pace, and a dark cinematic narrative.
According to Owen, the song started with riffs pulled from his personal archive before being updated and reworked into the finished track.
The story behind the lyrics is pure death metal storytelling. The song follows a killer who toys with a victim before giving them a chance to fight back. The plan backfires, and the victim ultimately turns the tables, killing the attacker in brutal fashion.
The twist brings the song full circle as the “smell of death” ends up belonging to the killer himself.

    Production and Recording Details

Next to Die was produced by Barnes and Owen , continuing the creative partnership the pair reignited in 2017.
Mixing and mastering duties were handled by Mark Lewis at MRL Studios in Nashville , known for delivering heavy and polished production across the metal spectrum.
The album follows the band’s 2024 release Killing for Revenge and represents the third record created by Barnes and Owen since their reunion .
Rather than planning themes together, Barnes says both musicians simply write about whatever inspires them at the moment.
That approach has helped keep the songwriting authentic and unpredictable.

    Six Feet Under Current Lineup

The modern lineup of Six Feet Under features a devastating roster of veteran musicians:
    Chris Barnes – vocals
    Jack Owen – guitar
    Ray Suhy – lead guitar
    Jeff Hughell – bass
    Marco Pitruzzella – drums
Together they form one of the tightest and most aggressive versions of the band to date.

    Next to Die Tracklist

The album features twelve new tracks:
    Approach Your Grave
    Destroyed Remains
    Mister Blood and Guts
    Mutilated Corpse in the Woods
    Unmistakable Smell of Death
    Wrath and Terror Takes Command
    Skin Coffins
    Mind Hell
    Naked and Dismembered
    Grasped from Beyond
    Next to Die
    Ill Wishes

    Vinyl Variants and Pre-Orders

Next to Die will be available on CD, digital, and multiple vinyl variants , including:
    180g Black (EU)
    Red with Black Smoke (US)
Bone Brown Marbled (EU – limited to 500)
Blue Grey Marbled (EU – limited to 300)
Blood Splatter (EU – limited to 300)
Bone White Green Splatter (EU – limited to 200)
With limited runs across several colors, collectors will likely want to grab these quickly.

Six Feet Under 2026 North American Tour

To support the album, Six Feet Under will launch a North American headlining tour beginning July 8 in Detroit and running through August 11 in Chicago .
Joining them on the road will be Canadian death metal veterans Kataklysm along with technical death metal crushers Wormhole .
Barnes expressed excitement about returning to the road and especially about playing Canada again after many years away.
Fans can expect a set packed with classics and new material from Next to Die .

A Veteran Death Metal Band Still Crushing

Few bands have remained as consistently active as Six Feet Under . With fifteen albums spanning three decades, the band continues to prove that old-school death metal still has plenty of bite.
Next to Die promises a mix of ferocity, groove, and classic horror-driven storytelling , keeping the band firmly planted in the genre they helped build.
The album arrives April 24 through Metal Blade Records , and judging by the first single, the death metal veterans are far from slowing down.

  • She’s In Charge: She’s In Charge: The Character of Éowyn in The Lord of the Rings

The works of J. R. R. Tolkien are often criticized for the rarity of women in his legendarium. While female characters appear less frequently than men, the women Tolkien created often carry a strong, empowering, and even feminist element. Rather than objectifying them, Tolkien wrote women who possess autonomy, dignity, and influence within their societies. Many of them hold important roles in the story and challenge the expectations placed upon them, pushing against the rules of their fictional world in ways that sometimes mirror struggles found in our own. In this She’s In Charge entry, we talk about one of the most prominent female characters in Tolkien’s legendarium, Éowyn.

Éowyn first appears in The Two Towers as a noblewoman of Rohan, the niece of King Théoden and sister of Éomer. After the deaths of her parents, she and her brother were raised in the king’s household. When the story reaches Rohan, Éowyn has spent years caring for her uncle while he suffers under the corrupting influence of Saruman and his servant Gríma Wormtongue. Even in this constrained position, she is respected for her courage and strength. When Théoden prepares to ride to war after his recovery, he entrusts Éowyn with the leadership of the people of Rohan, sending her to guide them to safety in the mountains while the army faces Saruman’s forces.

Her most famous actions take place in The Return of the King. Refusing to accept the command to remain behind while the men ride to battle, Éowyn disguises herself as a warrior named Dernhelm and secretly rides with the Rohirrim to Minas Tirith, bringing the hobbit Merry with her. During the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, she faces the Witch-king of Angmar, leader of the Nazgûl, who believes himself invincible because of a prophecy that no man can kill him. Revealing her identity, Éowyn strikes down the Witch-king, the most powerful force in Middle-earth after Sauron himself. With the assistance of Merry, whose own strike with a blade of Westernesse made the Nazgûl vulnerable, she fulfills the prophecy. Gravely wounded in the battle, she is taken to the Houses of Healing, where she recovers. After the war, she chooses a different path, finding peace in Ithilien with Faramir and turning away from her earlier desire for glory in battle.

The character of Éowyn resonates with many readers because her struggle is not only against the enemies of Middle-earth, but also against the expectations placed upon her as a woman in the society of Rohan. Throughout The Lord of the Rings, Éowyn is repeatedly told that her role is to remain behind while the men ride to war. Though respected, she is still confined by tradition. Her frustration comes from a desire to act and to stand beside her people in the fight for their future. By disguising herself and riding to battle, Éowyn rejects those limits and claims the right to decide her own role.

Her confrontation with the Witch-king of Angmar during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields becomes the defining moment of that defiance. When the Nazgûl lord claims that no man can kill him, Éowyn proves that courage and heroism are not bound by gender. This moment is more than a dramatic victory in the story; it represents the breaking of a rule that both the prophecy and her society seemed to enforce. For many readers, this act of courage, combined with her determination to shape her own life, is what makes Éowyn one of the most empowering female characters in Tolkien’s legendarium.

Stories like this endure because the struggles they reflect are still present in the real world. Women today continue to face barriers in leadership, careers, and societal expectations that try to define what they can or cannot pursue. Éowyn’s example reminds women that challenging those limits requires courage. Whether in literature or in life, progress often begins when women refuse to accept the roles others assign and instead claim their own path forward.
