  • Ceremony – “Other Hells”

For more than two decades, California’s Ceremony have been leading lights in the global punk rock underground. They’ve continued to evolve sonically, from the frantic powerviolence of their early days to the New Order-style post-punk of 2019’s In The Spirit World Now, but all that works exists within the same continuum. If you go see…

  • Portrayal Of Guilt – “Total Black”

Portrayal Of Guilt’s return is almost upon us. On Friday, the Texan underground rock extremists will release their new album …Beginning Of The End. I have heard it, and it’s nuts. POG’s scrambling, guttural style doesn’t fit neatly into any subculture bucket. They’re noise-rock and hardcore and metal and screamo all at once, and …Beginning…

  • Ceremony Explore “Other Hells” with First New Single in More Than Five Years

    ceremony_band26

After playing Coachella the last couple weekends, Cali-based punk outfit Ceremony released their new single “Other Hells” and its accompanying music video. It’s their first new single in more than five years, so they make the best of what they can with a little more than two minutes.

Bursting with energy and fervor, “Other Hells” is sure to get people moving, albeit in a “let’s open up this pit at a hardcore show” kinda way. Vocalist Ross Farrar explains what went into the new track.

“‘Other Hells’ started as a meditation on the dualistic arts and the interplay of opposing forces in our lives: awake/asleep, physical/spiritual, inhale/exhale. This is a constant theme in the work of Ceremony; beauty juxtaposed with the intensity of aggressive music, seeking to create a single, cohesive work through audible, visual, and structural elements. Amid the ongoing rise in politics that lean on tribalism and polarizing rhetoric in an attempt to divide, the song responds by aiming to unify, using punk’s great liberatory force: the slam.”

You can check out the full music video below. Their most recent release, Live at the Hollywood Palladium, was released earlier this year via Relapse Records. You can find that wherever you get your music today.

  • BELUSHI SPEED BALL Concert Photo Gallery & Review – Cosmo Joe’s Atomic Lounge in Dayton, Ohio ~ April 17th, 2026

BELUSHI SPEED BALL – Cosmo Joe’s Atomic Lounge, Dayton, Ohio – My buddy Troy and I took a short ride to downtown Dayton, Ohio to take in the fun from Kentucky’s very own BELUSHI SPEED BALL, last Friday night. Cosmo Joe’s Atomic Lounge became a welcomed free-for-all, with fans doing whatever the hell they wanted, to the crossover thrash of this good-times band.

No humans or animals were hurt in this joyous melee of airborne rolls of toilet paper, red solo cups, corrugated boxes, plastic bags and pool noodles. I did get involved myself and needed to be extra aware due to my terrible knees. I probably lost 50 calories, which is a plus. BELUSHI SPEED BALL kept their loyal fans (obviously) actively involved and elated to throw shit, non-stop, while laughs and smiles were contagious.

Vinny Castellano was a lively and charismatic frontman and should be proud of his band’s performance. We live during an unstable time right now and to be a part of this entertaining, comedic and thrash-tastic camaraderie is just what I have been yearning for! Metal be thy name – Stone
