(written by Islander) We wish you a Happy June Solstice, the longest day of the year for everyone living north of the Tropic of Cancer and the shortest day for people living south of the Tropic of Capricorn. (I hope I got that right!) We also wish a Happy Father’s Day to fathers in the […]
This is the debut album from Icelandic black metallers Forsmán. Brenndar Rústir & Fuðrandi Fjörur is the 46-minute follow up to 2021’s promising debut EP Dönsum i Logans Ljóma. Dozenz doesn’t ease in but detonates on “Mercy Mercy”.
A pop-rock surge that feels like neon rain over cracked pavement. The track moves with restless guitars and a hook that refuses to sit still, bending emotion into something almost cinematic. There’s a raw edge in the delivery, like they’re singing from the middle of a chase scene, heart racing but eyes locked forward.
“Mercy Mercy” thrives in contrast: glossy but bruised, anthemic yet intimate. The production leans into sharp drum hits and shimmering distortion, letting the chorus bloom wide before snapping back into tension. Dozenz sounds unfiltered here, pushing the vocals into that space where pop polish meets rock grit.
It’s the kind of record that sticks after one spin, not because it asks nicely, but because it doesn’t leave. Dozenz is carving their lane louder with this one. A true must hear gem that shines to the fullest!
