Pressure Set have announced their debut single, “Blood Gimmick,” the first taste of their forthcoming self-titled album, due out

It was evident from Lily Seabird’s March song “Demon In Me” that something special was coming from the Burlington singer-songwriter. Considering she hails from the same scene that nurtured great acts like Greg Freeman and Robber Robber, expectations are high. She exceeds them on today’s new single “Election Day,” which comes with the news of her new album Lightspheres On Their Way.

Polyphia have revealed that they are going to be making their way around the world on tour throughout the tail-end of 2026.

Following the arrival of their first single in over four years, ‘CAN YOU FEEL IT’, last week, the boundary-pushing instrumental rock titans have announced a huge run of dates across Europe and North America. 

They’ll be making their way to the UK in December, stopping off at London’s O2 Academy Brixton for a very special show.

RJ Pasin will support at all of the upcoming shows, with Perturbator joining on UK and European dates.

The band’s North American shows will also feature Ladrones, with select dates including Intervals and Plini.

John Vanderslice has a long and storied career in the realm of indie rock, but on recent releases like d E A T h ~ b U g and CRYSTALS 3.0 he’s been branching out into experimental electronic music. Google Earth, his band with James Riotto, blurs together those two pastimes. But on new album Focus, he’s back in indie singer-songwriter mode. As he puts it on Instagram today, “I’m actually singing here, this is my first song-forward record in a looooooooong time!!!!”

Irish guitarist, singer, and songwriter Gráinne Duffy talks about growing up working in her parents’ shop and fuel station and why she believes having something to say matters more than playing great.

From the mind of Curran Reynolds and the efforts of several collaborators comes Body Stuff, a NYC-based hard rock project spanning several regions of sonic territory. When I listen to the new song, “Sacrifice,” a plethora of reminders come to me, from the proto- and early punk of the CBGBs-era, 80s post-punk and New Wave, and even some post-hardcore. It’s a very New York City sound, one that Reynolds seeks to channel into his second full-length album, Body Stuff 5, due out on October 16.

According to Reynolds, the song is “about crossing the line, the point of no return, the beauty of sacrificing for something you love.” He goes on to describe the music video itself:

“I made this music video one morning after watching Jean Cocteau’s film, Blood of a Poet. I loved the scene in that film where the artist is peeping in keyholes in the hotel and I woke up wanting to replicate that. As fate would have it, my building here in Brooklyn was built in the 1850s and one of the doors in my apartment has the most perfect, iconic keyhole.”

Although this kind of noise isn’t exactly standard-fare for many readers, it would be worth looking through that keyhole to add to — and enhance — your musical world. The song is genuinely cool and engaging, and makes me want to check out the rest of Body Stuff. It’s the kind of thing you want to convince the DJ to put on at an 80s night party! Beyond any sort of nostalgia, though, it does present a more promising and daring vision for hard rock than most of what’s left out there. (Also, fun fact, Reynolds was the drummer on Today is the Day‘s excellent 2011 album, Pain Is a Warning.)
