  • Rest In Peace, Phil Campbell

    From Official Motörhead Facebook:

We cannot believe we’re saying this… it is with profound sadness that we have to say Philip Anthony Campbell has passed.

He was Motörhead’s guitarist for 31 years (the longest serving member aside from Lemmy) having joined in 1984. After Lemmy’s passing, he was blessed to form Phil Campbell and The Bastard Sons with his sons Todd, Dane and Tyla, which recorded and toured together for years.

Phil was a wonderful guitarist, writer, performer, and musician who had Motörhead in his veins. He always led with his gift of guitar, and carried a great sense of humour, but most of all, Phil led with his heart. You could not be around him without a chuckle or twenty, because quite simply, Phil loved life and lived it with great joy.

There will be plenty of time for us to share stories -tales of Campbell glory- and some damn good jokes together; for now, please send love and positive energy to Gaynor and the boys while affording them time, space, and privacy.

Much love and RIP Phil. The world has just lost an enormous beam of light, and we are devastated.

God Bless the soul of Phil Campbell. Love and light to the entire Campbell family.

  • SAVAGE MANIA – sign with Fireflash Records; start physical pre-sale for “Demonic Assault”

Let’s hop into the time machine and travel back 40 years to the 1980s. At that time, a rebellious thrash metal scene was developing in Germany, producing classics across the board. In 1985 KREATOR came up with „Endless Pain“; DESTRUCTION created “Infernal Overkill“ and SODOM released their EP „In The Sign Of Evil“. Not much later, TANKARD, HOLY MOSES, EXUMER, VIOLENT FORCE, DARKNESS and many others followed. A new […]

  • Crobot Announce New Album, Share First Single “Foot Off”

    crobot band

Hell yeah, Crobot. The stoner band has been characteristically unstoner with how much they’ve been up to. Yesterday, the occasional unofficial holiday of Friday the 13th, Crobot dropped two things—first, they announced their upcoming new album Supermoon, and second, they shared the lead single from the album, called “Foot Off,” which you can listen to below.

“Foot Off” was recorded at a pretty iconic place: Willie Nelson’s Pedernales Recording Studio and The Machine Shop Recording Studio in Texas. Talk about making big moves.

Crobot frontman Brandon Yeagley shared the following:

“‘Foot Off’ puts us right back in the driver’s seat of charging our way through open highways at break neck speed with our destination set to our Dirty Groove Rock roots. This one is for the fans that have been with us from the beginning and fans that want to know exactly what we’re all about – still after 15 years of being a band.”

    Guitarist Chris Bishop added:

“It’s somewhere between ZZ Top, Aerosmith, and Clutch. Right where I like to be baby. I’m happy we are back to funkin’. Ever since I was a wee little boy, that’s what’s always got my motor running.”

Supermoon is due out May 1 via Megaforce Records.
