Yes. The four-song EP is designed as a closing creative statement before the band’s farewell concert in São Paulo in October 2026.
Sepultura have announced their farewell EP, The Cloud Of Unknowing, arriving April 24 via Nuclear Blast. The band just released the new track “The Place,” and the EP captures their final studio recordings with drummer Greyson Nekrutman. As their global farewell tour continues toward a massive São Paulo finale in October 2026, this release stands as a deliberate final artistic statement.
Sepultura aren’t fading out quietly.
After more than four decades, 14 gold records, and shows in over 80 countries, they’re choosing to end this on their own terms — and that includes one last studio document.
The Cloud Of Unknowing EP drops April 24 via Nuclear Blast and features four new tracks:
This isn’t a leftover compilation or vault-clearing exercise.
These songs were recorded spontaneously in Miami after the band played the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise. No label pressure. No deadline. No expectation.
Just creation.
Guitarist Andreas Kisser admitted they simply had access to a studio and decided to capture the moment. That freedom shows. The EP reportedly spans ferocity and emotional weight — a concentrated reminder of why Sepultura have never fit neatly into one metal subgenre.
Vocalist Derrick Green describes “The Place” as a reflection on immigrants seeking refuge, only to find themselves trapped inside cycles of self-hatred and manipulated identity.
The song transitions from disappointment into anger — lyrically mirroring the band’s trademark dynamic shifts.
It’s not a safe topic. It’s not nostalgia-driven.
It’s Sepultura doing what they’ve always done: confronting uncomfortable realities head-on.
If you’ve followed this band through Chaos A.D., Roots, Nation, or A-Lex, you know they’ve never chased predictability.
The EP also marks the recorded debut of drummer Greyson Nekrutman, who officially replaced Eloy Casagrande in February 2024.
Nekrutman stepped into the lineup just as the farewell tour began — a bold transition during one of the band’s most visible moments.
Kisser revealed these four songs were already recorded with Greyson, quietly confirming new material had been sitting in the chamber.
Now it becomes part of the closing narrative.
Sepultura launched the “Celebrating Life Through Death” farewell tour on March 1, 2024.
The final concert is planned for October 2026 in São Paulo, Brazil — envisioned as a massive SEPUL-fest celebration.
Kisser has publicly invited former members, including Max and Igor Cavalera, along with Jairo Guedz, Eloy Casagrande, Jean Patton, and Roy Mayorga.
Not to reopen old wounds.
To celebrate.
That tone matters.
Sepultura aren’t dissolving in chaos. They’re concluding in clarity.
Mid-thought: if you’ve been tracking how legacy metal bands choose to end their stories, this is one of the most deliberate exits we’ve seen in years.
The band is also recording 40 songs across 40 cities during the farewell run for a massive live compilation.
That means this final phase isn’t just symbolic — it’s being documented in full.
The North American leg kicks off April 29 in Montclair, New Jersey and runs through May 29 in Los Angeles, with support from Exodus, Biohazard, and Tribal Gaze. Major festivals like Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple are also on the schedule.
This isn’t a slow goodbye.
It’s a global exhale.
Kisser explained that the decision to stop wasn’t forced by infighting or industry pressure.
It was intentional.
After 40 years, continuing into another album-tour cycle felt predictable.
And predictability is something Sepultura have always resisted.
They built a sound that refuses categorization. Not thrash. Not just heavy metal. Not just Brazilian metal.
Sepultura metal.
Ending while the band is still strong, still cohesive, still creative — that’s the statement.
The Cloud Of Unknowing becomes the final punctuation mark before the October 2026 finale.
Not a fade.
A full stop.

April 24 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Four tracks, including the newly released “The Place.”
Yes. The EP is positioned as their final recorded creative statement before the farewell concert.
The band plans to conclude in October 2026 in São Paulo, Brazil.
Invitations have been extended, including to Max and Igor Cavalera.
Formed in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1984, Sepultura became one of the most influential metal bands to emerge from South America. Blending thrash aggression, groove experimentation, and cultural identity, the band carved a global legacy across four decades, influencing generations of heavy artists worldwide.

In an announcement that was pre-empted by what appears to have been a leak from the promoter, Iron Maiden’s enormous Run For Your Lives Tour will hit Australian venues in November.
Dates have been announced for Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in a mix of both arenas and stadiums. Making the tour even more enticing, Megadeth have been named as support. With their current tour announced as their last, this will probably be the final time we get to see Dave Mustaine and his band in Australia.

Earlier today, Swedish death metal outfit Vomitory released a brand new track to mark the unveiling of their forthcoming album In Death Throes, due out on April 10 via Metal Blade Records. The track in question, “For Gore And Country” is every bit as brutal and stomach turning and you’d expect from a band that’s been doing this for three decades.
According to drummer Tobias Gustafsson, the band’s new record takes the Vomitory sound you’re likely familiar with and dials it up even further.
“In Death Throes picks up where All Heads Are Gonna Roll left off, but we’ve turned the intensity up a notch. [New guitarist] Christian [Fredriksson] quickddly found his place and even contributed music to four killer tracks. These additions bring a bit of diversity to our sound without straying too far from the formula.”
Similarly, Gustafsson said “For Gore And Country” is all about sheer brutality and mayhem.
“‘For Gore And Country’ charges forward relentlessly just like the rotting hordes in the lyrics do. Starting off with a classic Vomitory grind, then diving headfirst into a total headbanging party, to then take off again into grind and D-beat turmoil. Oh wait! Another headbanging party towards the end of the song! For gore and country, we endure!”
In Death Throes will be released on April 10 via Metal Blade Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
