  • DROPKICK MURPHYS Brought The “For The People…In The Pit St. Patricks Day 2026 Tour” To The Admiral

DEAN BIRKHEIMER | Go Venue Magazine

The Dropkick Murphys delivered an unforgettable performance on February 26, 2026 at The Admiral, turning the Omaha venue into a roaring celebration of punk rock, Celtic tradition, and working-class pride.

The evening kicked off with opening sets from SluggerHaywire 617, and The Aggrolites, each bringing their own flavor and intensity.

Slugger set the tone with speedy riffs and raw vocals, immediately igniting the crowd. Lead vocalist Tommy utilized every inch of the stage as he paced from one end to the other, like a tiger in a cage. A self proclaimed anti-fascist band, they are a mix of “brickwall Oi!” with hardcore punk influences.

Haywire 617 opened with “Sweet Caroline” an audience favorite that turned into a sing-a-long. This was  followed with a fast, aggressive set that pushed the energy even higher. Speed, along with tons of audience engagement and crowd surfing, helped make Haywire 617 a fan favorite.

The Aggrolites offered a groove-heavy reggae sound that gave the audience a chance to move and sway while still keeping the momentum alive. Their tight rhythms and charismatic stage presence proved they were more than just an opening act, they were a vital part of the night’s entertainment.

When Dropkick Murphys took the stage, the atmosphere instantly transformed. Frontman Ken Casey commanded the room authoritatively and passionately. His voice cut through the venue with a urgent authenticity. The band wasted no time launching into fan favorites, with the crowd shouting every lyric back as if part of the performance itself. Casey’s connection with the audience was constant, bridging the gap between stage and floor and making the room feel personal.  Tim Brennan showcased his versatility, moving seamlessly between guitar, accordion, and tin whistle, adding layers to the band’s Celtic punk sound. Jeff DaRosa’s work on banjo and mandolin added texture, while James Lynch’s guitar work delivered the driving force behind the band’s most powerful moments. Kevin Rheault held everything together with a his bass presence, and Matt Kelly’s drumming was precise, providing the backbone for the band’s pace.  One of the most electrifying elements of the night came from Campbell Webster’s bagpipe and Uilleann pipe performances. The haunting sound cut through the distortion, elevating the songs into something almost electric. Each time the pipes rang out, the crowd erupted, fists and voices in the air. The setlist balanced aggression and emotion perfectly as it  shifted between high-speed assaults and heartfelt moments. The band’s authenticity shined through, not just as performers, but as storytellers.  When the final song ended, the crowd was exhausted, but completely satisfied. As he is known to have done, Ken Casey stayed behind to basically meet everyone who also stayed behind. He took the time to take photos and sign memorabilia.  Dropkick Murphys continue to thrive on passion and connection. Omaha was lucky to witness it.

  • “The Primeval Void to Fill” — Greek Gothic Rockers Reflection Black Celebrate Nyx in “Wonders of The Night”

    The outer reality is forming

    The primeval void to fill

The Night is the one and the many

The muse to rule the celestial sphere

In the oldest hush of Greek imagining, before Olympus learned its own name, Nyx moved across the void as mother and measure of all that would follow. From her body came Sleep and Death, Nemesis and Strife; from her darkness, the tremor of beginnings. Even Zeus kept his distance. To invoke her is to speak of origins that are neither gentle nor cruel, but immense.

Athens gothic and post-punk act Reflection Black further immerse listeners into their dark world with their ode to Nyx of their new single and music video Wonders of Night. Originating from the urban landscapes of Athens, Greece, the group draws a long breath from that ancient well of their ancestors and exhales it into amplifiers and drum machines. Synths gather like weather along the horizon, guitars cut deliberate figures through the air, and melodic vocal hooks rise with a solemn clarity that suggests invocation rather than performance.

The band draws from The Sisters of Mercy, The Damned, and The Mission, but also brings to mind the modern vibes of She Past Away, Drab Majesty, and Twin Tribes…and, true to Alex’s metal past, elements of early Metallica can also be heard at intervals, especially in the thundering vocals. Yet what takes hold here is less citation than consecration. The guitar-driven textures move with purpose, steady and tensile, while the rhythm section keeps a disciplined march beneath an atmosphere thick with occult intent.

Alex offers insight into the song’s theme: “Nyx…according to Orphic Theogony, is a primordial force from which the universe has spawned. She is considered the mother of several divine beings, but also breeds a number of primordial negative forces like Thanatos, Nemesis and Eris.” In that lineage, the song finds its gravity. It carries the sense of standing before something older than doctrine, older than daylight.

Wonders of Night is the last of the series of singles from the band’s upcoming full-length album, Burning Obsidian Star, set for release through Swiss Dark Nights on March 20th 2026. The animated lyric video by Costin Chioreanu lends the hymn a visual rite, each frame bending toward the same ancient mother whose night still covers the earth.

  • VULNIFICUS Discusses Debut Full-Length Inclination in Exclusive Necromance Digital Magazine Interview – @thebeast

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VULNIFICUS Discusses Debut Full-Length Inclination in Exclusive Necromance Digital Magazine Interview
Technical brutal death metal innovators VULNIFICUS are featured in an in-depth interview with David Déniz for Necromance Digital Magazine , delving into the band’s artistic vision, sonic approach, and the release of their highly anticipated debut album, Inclination .
After four years and three EPs, vocalist and founding member Eston describes Inclination as the natural evolution of the band: “It’s designed to satisfy our existing fans while attracting new listeners with a more mature and solid sound.” Drawing inspiration from genre giants like Morbid Angel, Suffocation, and Cryptopsy, VULNIFICUS aims to honor death metal traditions while pushing the boundaries with a modern, brutal edge.
The album’s production—handled by Scot Moriarty at Backroom Studios —balances clarity with intensity, capturing a dense, oppressive, and claustrophobic atmosphere. “If a song doesn’t sound like death, it isn’t death metal,” Eston explains. Signature elements include prominent bass lines described as a “psychological force” that anchors the band’s complex arrangements.
Lyrically, Inclination reflects the decay and darkness of the post-pandemic world. Visually, the asphyxiating album art by Ricky ‘Pileworm’ Pile completes the experience, creating a unified statement of music, imagery, and theme. Track titles featuring the letter “I” serve as a subtle homage to the early Morbid Angel releases, reinforcing the band’s deep reverence for the genre.
VULNIFICUS’ partnership with Comatose Music marks a major milestone, offering wider recognition and reach for their debut. Despite the technical intricacy of the material, the band has already tested the songs live, with audiences responding positively to the album’s dense, oppressive energy.
The full interview is available now on Necromance Digital Magazine , offering fans an inside look at the philosophy, artistry, and vision behind Inclination .

    # To Violently Vomit & Putridity only
The band shares their thoughts on GUTTING NORTH AMERICA:
“Touring with Putridity and To Violently Vomit is something that means a lot to us. These are bands we’ve respected for years and artists who helped shape our appreciation for brutal death metal and pushed the genre to the extremes we admire. Sharing the stage alongside the best in the genre isn’t just a milestone for us, it’s a statement. It feels surreal but it’s a reminder of how far VULNIFICUS has come and of the work that’s brought us here.
Taking our music to Canada and the East Coast for the first time is another goal we hoped to achieve. New cities, new faces and new rooms to explore. We don’t take any of it for granted.
We hope this run is the first of many through these territories and we’re looking forward to meeting everyone who comes out to be part of it. We’re coming with everything we have to offer and we hope this is only the beginning. We’ll see you in May.”
On performing at New Jersey Deathfest:
“I played the first installment of this festival and have attended many since, so being invited as part of the lineup for the 10th edition feels full circle. I’ve watched it evolve and solidify its place in the scene. To stand on the other side of it as a featured band is something I don’t take lightly.
Dingbatz is a venue I’ve spent a lot of time in over the years. I know the stage, the sound and the energy in that place. Returning there in this capacity carries a different weight, and it’s something I’ll cherish. This moment is very meaningful for VULNIFICUS and we’re looking forward to delivering a performance worthy of the occasion. Moments like these are a reminder of the path behind us and the work that we have to do going forward.”
If you have been sleeping, now is the time to wake up. INCLINATION is out everywhere and VULNIFICUS are taking it on the road with zero hesitation.
