Seattle’s own Shadowpool channel their city’s overcast mood on Enemies, a reflective cut that navigates the quiet collapse of a relationship with restrained intensity and shadowed beauty; anchored by John Mills’ slightly world-weary vocal delivery and layered with chiming, atmospheric guitars, the track captures the internal solitude and emotional disassociation that follow a breakup, balancing melancholy with a subtle undercurrent of hope, as if light is pushing through the Pacific Northwest fog, resulting in a dark yet surprisingly luminous indie rock meditation on endings and the fragile optimism that trails behind them.
It’s been 15 years since the last Suplecs album, and I definitely didn’t expect to hear another one. Far from being old and washed up, Suplecs have returned with a ferocity. I preordered this back in December, based on this track they had released. Suplecs have written some stoner-rock-hall-of-fame caliber songs over the years, and this is as good as any of them.
I’m just giving the rest of the tracks a first listen, but this one is another early favorite:
New Orleans’ Suplecs are:
Danny Nick: Bass, Vocals
Andrew Preen: Drums
Durel Yates: Guitar, Vocals
BELZEBONG: THE END IS HIGH
Polish stoner metal/doom gods Belzebong are back with another face-melting, brain-dissolving, volume to eleven, must-have album. Another album I pre-ordered (back in November) due to a pre-released track I thought to be as good as any of my previous favorites.
Hear for yourself:
Again, the rest of this was just released today, but here’s the closing track, making a crushing entrance:
Belzebong are:
Sheepy Dude: Bass
Alky Dude: Guitar
Cheesy Dude: Guitar
Hexy Dude: Drums
L’Ira Del Baccano: The Praise Of Folly
Italy’s L’Ira Del Baccano are such masterful musicians and songwriters that I pre-ordered this one without any pre-released tracks available. Based on my previous three purchases, I was confident not only that I’d like this album, but that it would be a strong contender for my top ten of the year. One listen in, I know I was right. If you’ve checked out my previous posts about this band, you already know, but if not, make sure you’ve got your good speakers and sit back for this:

Battle Beast’s first ever tour of Australia was always going to be huge but who would have thought it would usher in a new era for the band? With a new album ‘Steelbound’ out only last year, and a huge European Tour that saw their biggest shows to date, came the announcement that vocalist Noora Louhimo had departed in December, to put her focus on her solo career. The very next day, Marina La Torraca was announced as the new lead vocalist of Battle Beast. Marina of course had left her band Phantom Elite just a few months earlier.
We caught up with Eero and Marina to talk all about the tour and how she came to join the band.
A consistently reliable source of top-tier rock music is Michael Monroe. Born in Helsinki, the charismatic frontman first gained widespread attention when he joined the legendary Hanoi Rocks in 1980. Alongside his band work, Monroe also launched a solo career, releasing his debut album “Peace of Mind” in 1996. Thirty years later, Monroe returns with… Continue Reading →
“The Vee Bees turned 25 last year. With 6 albums, and a bunch of singles 9,125 days later they still deliver the best 100% high octane full blown punk rock in the country. To celebrate their Silver Jubilee we have a limited 7″ single ready for ya. Featuring 2 brand new Vee Bees classics all wrapped in some killer Pat Grant artwork. Theres only 150 of these suckers so grab one now. All copies are pressed on silver vinyl (of course), include a double sided lyric insert and come with the following goodies: Silver Jubilee Vee Bees beer coaster, Vee Bees Silver Jubilee badge, Silver Jubilee sticker and a cool Vee Bees patch.”
Well that’s the press release out of the way! In all honesty it’s great to see them back. Way back in 2006 when I was back in Sydney someone slipped me a copy of “Crack us Another” and here we are 20 years later and I have to say I’m so gloriously glad that things haven’t changed!
If you love your VB and a spot of unhinged garage punk pub rock mayhem with lyrics designed to (they say this not me) “...hold up a mirror to modern day society and reflect on philosophical and contemplative issues, such as the frustrations of being denied basic human rights and improving all aspects of your life through the power of positive thinking…yeah, nah not really. They’re about queuing for a dump & rock n roll!!”
What more could you want? A few beers, loud music and a heap of fun! “Third In Line For The Throne” itself is huge fun, a song about queueing for the dunny and the very essence of The Vee Bees. Whilst “Yeah Orright” is just what made you go out slam down a carton then get all out of control upfront at one of their shows in the first place. Age has not wearied these reprobates! welcome back and happy 25th!
The record was recorded, mixed, & mastered by Jason Fuller at Goatsound, Melbourne, Australia in August 2025. Additional tracks recorded by Damian Blankley. Artwork by Pat Grant. Photo by Katelyn Slyer.
DARSOMBRAPresents: Transmission – A Celebration For Ann Everton is a two-day festival event set to take place at Baltimore’s Ottobar in just one week, February 28th and March 1st. The gathering was established to honor the life and art of DARSOMBRA’s Ann Everton, who tragically passed away in a vehicle accident in early October when the band was beginning their latest tour.
Ann Everton left an indelible impression on everyone who met her. Everton’s husband and founding DARSOMBRA member Brian Daniloski worked directly with the staff at the Ottobar and several artists to organize this special event, which sees almost thirty acts – all of whom are friends of DARSOMBRA – uniting to perform on both stages of the club over two full days in Everton’s memory.
Preceded by a gathering for family and friends, DARSOMBRAPresents: Transmission – A Celebration For Ann Everton will feature two full days of performances on both the upstairs and downstairs stages at the Ottobar. A large contingent of the acts are friends located across the Baltimore area, with some of the highlights including Acoustic War On Women, Curse, Consumer Culture, Moth Broth, 50’ & The Worms, Quattracenta, Holy Fingers, Celebration, Cultic, Ala Muerte, Gridfailure, Stinking Lizaveta, and more
DARSOMBRA’s Brian Daniloski will return to the stage for the first time since the accident to perform as part of the Ala Muerte and Gridfailure sets.
The set times for both days have been posted below.
Additionally, local magazine BmoreArt ran an incredible piece on Everton, highlighting her life and involvement in the local arts scene, and spotlighting the festival. Read the story HERE.
While the exact future of DARSOMBRA remains uncertain, the band has a sizable surplus of unreleased material. A new album will be released for the first time at the festival and will be made available to the public directly afterward. Watch for further developments to be announced.

Cabaret Voltaire have expanded their Final USA + Canada Tour, confirming a second wave of North American dates for September 2026. Following the announcement last month of their West Coast farewell scheduled in May, the tour now stretches across the continent, forming a two-part closing chapter that will bring the group’s five-decade live legacy to its final North American conclusion.
Originally formed in Sheffield in the early 1970s by Stephen ‘Mal’ Mallinder, Chris Watson, and Richard H. Kirk, Cabaret Voltaire dismantled rock convention and rebuilt it from tape loops, found sound, surveillance aesthetics, and machine rhythm. Their early experiments helped shape industrial music, post-punk, electronic body music, and the DNA of contemporary electronic culture itself.
Following the previously announced May run — covering Seattle, Vancouver, Portland, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco — the band will return in September for dates across Texas, the Midwest, the Northeast, and Eastern Canada. I Speak Machine remains confirmed as special guest throughout the North American leg.
Alongside the tour expansion, Cabaret Voltaire has announced an official live album titled “But What Time Is It Really?” featuring iconic tracks like “Nag Nag Nag,” “Crackdown,” and “Do Right.” The album was recorded live in 2025 during their farewell performances at various UK shows, capturing the intense, immersive atmosphere of their final concerts. Following Richard H. Kirk’s death in 2021, Mallinder and Watson confirmed that no new studio recordings will be released under the Cabaret Voltaire name.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rotten Blasphemy ’s Worshippers Of Chaös Featured in Decibel Magazine ’s “Five For Friday” New Releases
February 2026
Metal Devastation PR is proud to announce that Rotten Blasphemy’s latest album, Worshippers Of Chaös , has been spotlighted in Decibel Magazine ’s “Five For Friday” section, highlighting the most essential new metal releases of the week. The magazine praised the album:
“Meanwhile. Here’s a band that belongs at a secret basement show on a Tuesday. Definitely required listening for fans of Aura Noir, Nifelheim and Nunslaughter. I also can’t help but smile at the song title ‘Rise and Sin.’ Likewise, this catchy, unholy masterwork is a great way to start the day!”
Released February 21, 2026, via Witches Brew Records in CD and digital formats, Worshippers Of Chaös delivers a ferocious blend of Satanic Black Death, thrash intensity, and raw Black n Roll energy. Rooted in the tradition of vintage extreme metal and steeped in occult themes, the album establishes Rotten Blasphemy as a commanding force in the international underground metal scene.
The feature in Decibel Magazine further cements the album’s impact, placing it among the week’s most talked-about extreme metal releases and highlighting Rotten Blasphemy’s unrelenting approach to modern blackened death metal.
