  • Parker Barrow unveils “Glass Eyes Cryin” lyric video

Parker Barrow have released a new single, “Glass Eyes Cryin’,” from their Hold The Mash EP, marking the latest chapter in the Nashville-based Southern rock band’s evolving sound.

The track is available now on all major streaming platforms, along with the full Hold The Mash EP. An official lyric video for the song has also been released on YouTube.

“Glass Eyes Cryin’ was the first song we wrote and recorded for Hold The Mash,” said drummer Dylan Turner. “We felt it was the perfect song to kickstart a musical shift to what the band has become since our previous record.”

Turner added, “It’s a laid-back, groovy and features a powerful vocal that tells the story about a sass-filled response to situations of emotional manipulation. With the use of many textures, and gospel elements, the song takes you on the emotional journey that comes with the realization that actions truly speak louder than words.”

Led by husband-and-wife duo Megan Kane on lead vocals and Dylan Turner on drums, Parker Barrow was formed following a chance meeting in 2019. The pair began touring together shortly after connecting, later expanding the lineup in 2023 with the addition of guitarist and musical director Alex Bender.

The band first gained wider attention with their debut album Jukebox Gypsies, which received strong response from fans and critics. The single “Back To Birmingham” surpassed one million views on YouTube. In 2025, they released the Hold The Mash EP, featuring “Make It,” “Novocaine,” and “The Healer,” with “Make It” earning rotation on Planet Rock’s main playlist.

Blending elements of Southern rock, blues, soul, and classic rock, Parker Barrow has built a reputation for energetic live performances and extended improvisation. The group has toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe in recent years and continues to expand its international audience.

In support of the new single and EP, Parker Barrow will return to the UK in July 2026 for a series of club dates and a performance at Steelhouse Festival. Tickets for the club shows go on sale at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, via Planet Rock and The Gig Cartel.

  • Zara Larsson, Perfume Genius Raise Awareness Of Unflattering Wikipedia Photos

Fame comes with a lot of sacrifices. Your privacy is compromised, your persona becomes currency, and sometimes you think you look bad in your Wikipedia photo. The latter is true for Zara Larsson, the Swedish pop star whose been experiencing a steady rise to recognizable-household-name status since her 2017 single “Symphony” got a TikTok-meme boost a couple of years ago. Larsson’s well aware that her Wikipedia page is getting a lot more eyes than usual lately, and she took to TikTok herself to express her frustration over the main photo of her that those eyes were seeing.

  • Album Review: Death Assault- Self-Titled

Rambling Man’s Reviews introduces another exciting British Metal band this week. Death Assault is a quintet from Plymouth, England. Last week, they released their eleven-track, self-titled debut album. The release showcases modern metal characterised by harsh vocals, long, winding breakdowns, and goosebump-inducing riffs, reflecting a band on a serious path of destruction. They have been compared to Lamb of God and Slayer, particularly due to their groove-oriented riffs and aggressive vocals, as well as to Slipknot, which evokes a sense of having emerged from the metal scene twenty years ago.

Like many fast-emerging bands, they formed after the pandemic era in 2022, and they comprise of Darrell Baker (vocals), Bill Mander (guitar), Jake Ackrell (guitar), Wiktor Osiecki (bass), and Levi Spry (drums). The band follows up on their 2023 debut EP with a raw, unrelenting, and ferocious display of angst, anger, and frustration. Death Assault describes this album as a statement and a fair reflection of how they feel.

The EP begins with an ominous intro of a distorted monologue titled ‘The Masterpiece of Murder,’ which segues into blistering, full-throttle metal. “Ashes of Reality” and “Replaced” showcase a raw, in-your-face style of heavy metal characterised by groove-oriented riffs, intense screams, and pounding drums that elevate the album’s intensity to the maximum. The music is unsteady, featuring neck-breaking speed and an unnerving energy that strongly resonates with the audience.

Death Assault’s experiment heavily tuned-down guitars and melodic textures that feel like they are punching you in the stomach, while the vocals are a long stream of hellish pleas from a tortured soul. ‘Falling Down,’ ‘We Remain,’ and ‘Pro-Crisis’ blend harmonic guitar lines with ferocious vocals that rise from the stomach to amplify the band’s anger. I see the similarities with Lamb of God; their style is intense, with riffs chugging along like an army engaging in battle, as each bass line pummels alongside the drums.

The melodic instrumental breakdowns contribute to the unsettling atmosphere, as if a band is struggling with their demons. Some songs combine clean vocals with the chaotic nature of harsh vocals, as heard in ‘My Insanity, ‘ ‘ Forgotten, and ‘Winds of the Past, which feature intricate riffs designed to build in intensity until reaching an explosive climax.  This enables the band to create darker and more melancholic tracks while emphasising their melodic vocals.

Death Assault delivers a relentless assault on the ears with a deeply personal and intense style of metal, combined with melodic tracks that showcase the band’s need for expression.

  • Ice Nine Kills’ Song for ‘Scream 7’ “Twisting The Knife” Streaming Now

    ghostface_INK

We’ve know for a while that horror-based metalcore/theatricore act Ice Nine Kills was collaborating with the upcoming release of Scream 7, but now that collab has come to fruition with the release of their new track “Twisting The Knife”.

Announced back in December, this joint effort sees one of the more popular acts out there adding their music to the soundtrack of one of the most iconic horror movie series. However this time around, the song includes a featured spot with Mckenna Grace, a member of the movie’s cast.

Speaking of the track itself, Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas had this to say:

“’Twisting the Knife’ is our tribute to Wes Craven and the Scream franchise, which means so much to us. Scream is baked into the DNA of who I am and of Ice Nine Kills—my love of horror, comedy, and the collision between the two. I was already obsessed with Halloween and Friday the 13th, but Scream was the first I saw in theaters. Hearing the killer talk about horror movies, in that distinctively pop-culture savvy Kevin Williamson way, blew my mind.

“In recent years, we’ve gotten to know and work with Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, Jamie Kennedy, Lee Waddell, and others in different capacities. We announced the collaboration with Scream 7 at Wembley Arena, with Ghostface and Rose McGowan, which was surreal in itself.

“When we learned that Mckenna Grace is a fan of our band, it made perfect sense to invite her to sing. She recorded her part in my home studio, in the same room where I keep my screen-used Scream knife prop, one of the four rubber knives made for the first movie.

“Marco Beltrami’s Scream scores are just as influential to me as any other component of the films. In our song, there are echoes of the moody atmospheres he’s created, with our own INK twist.”

As for Grace, she said her involvement in the making of the song was “such a special experience” for her.

“I am such a big INK fan and it was such an amazing opportunity to be able to play with a different style of music. I am so inspired by Amy Lee’s vocals and we all wanted to channel Scream and Sydney’s story as best as we could. Spencer and the guys were so much fun to collaborate with and I’m so thankful to Kevin Williamson.”

You can check out the track and its accompanying music video below. Scream 7 will begin showing in theaters near you on Friday, February 27.

  • EMG partners with Irish Blackened Experimental Extreme Metal act HORRENDA! – @thebeast

Horrenda is a 6-person fomorian looking to expand beyond its borders; after blazing a path across Ireland and the UK, and recently debuting in mainland Europe with a tour of Poland.
In 2025, Horrenda closed out Ireland’s largest metal festival “The Siege of Limerick”, playing the UK end to end, debuting in Poland and playing Cosmic Void Festival in September 2025 which closed out our busiest year.
Horrenda twists elements of black metal into a chaotic mix of hardcore punk, dissonance Noise and riffing Death metal with a progressive music edge. This mix has formed a live show that cuts deep and often utilizes samples and 3-guitars to allow a wall of sound to pummel our audience, ensuring a show unlike anything you’ve seen before.
“Horrenda started in 2015 as a one man black project project, releasing two demos but then grew into an act of renown in Ireland. After refining our show and sound over the past ten years across Ireland and the UK. We are very pleased to sign with EMG at this point as we are keen to bring our music to as many shores as possible. We want everyone to experience Horrenda.”
HORRENDA are a must for fans of acts such as Dragged Into Sunlight, Harakiri For The Sky, Ellende, Karg, Gluch, Hexis, and high intensity live performances.
Horrenda are currently writing their second album; the follow up to the “Think On Your Sins” EP and their debut album “Díoltas” both of which were re-released in the US in 2025.
