Right now, two different Charli XCX-related movies are playing in multiplexes. Last week, she released her album Wuthering Heights, the soundtrack for the film of the same title. She’s also got her Brat mockumentary The Moment, which is in the midst of a big European rollout. While promoting The Moment in Berlin, Charli pissed off some fans by attending an afterparty that was apparently organized by a Russian woman with ties to the Putin regime and the invasion of Ukraine.

They’ve also debuted their new track “To The Last Breath” and announced a European/UK tour.

Ice Nine Kills have returned to the world of Ghostface with an official offering set to accompany the upcoming movie Scream 7.

Titled ‘Twisting The Knife’, it’s a song that pulls on all of the things that make INK such a perfect band to soundtrack a horror show. Atmospherically bold and brilliantly dramatic, it is a ballad of the highest order. Sky-high melodies and melodrama-drenched builds aplenty, they suit the moody tone of the Scream franchise wonderfully.
It also features an appearance from Mckenna Grace who adds her brooding vocal talents to the party beautifully, serving as a compelling accomplice to vocalist Spencer Charnas.
And because it’s Ice Nine Kills, of course, the video is bold, brash and blood-drenched, which makes it a bit of an NSFW watch. It also plays a part in the wider story the band are telling at the moment, so expect more questions, more quips, and more curious breadcrumbs about where things may be heading. Also, keep an eye out for one hell of a cameo.
Spencer had this to say about the song and what it means to be so heavily involved in the franchise:
“Twisting the Knife is our tribute to Wes Craven and the Scream franchise, which means so much to us. Scream is baked into the DNA of who I am and of Ice Nine Kills—my love of horror, comedy, and the collision between the two. I was already obsessed with Halloween and Friday the 13th, but Scream was the first I saw in theatres. Hearing the killer talk about horror movies, in that distinctively pop-culture savvy Kevin Williamson way, blew my mind.
“In recent years, we’ve gotten to know and work with Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, Jamie Kennedy, Lee Waddell, and others in different capacities. We announced the collaboration with Scream 7 at Wembley Arena, with Ghostface and Rose McGowan, which was surreal in itself.
“When we learned that Mckenna Grace is a fan of our band, it made perfect sense to invite her to sing. She recorded her part in my home studio, in the same room where I keep my screen-used Scream knife prop, one of the four rubber knives made for the first movie.
“Marco Beltrami’s Scream scores are just as influential to me as any other component of the films. In our song, there are echoes of the moody atmospheres he’s created, with our own INK twist.”
And Mckenna had this to add:
“Making this song was such a special experience for me- I am such a big INK fan and it was such an amazing opportunity to be able to play with a different style of music. I am so inspired by Amy Lee’s vocals and we all wanted to channel Scream and Sydney’s story as best as we could. Spencer and the guys were so much fun to collaborate with, and I’m so thankful to Kevin Williamson.”
For those in the know, this isn’t actually the first song that the band have written about Scream. ‘Your Number’s Up’ served as a bonus track on the original ‘The Silver Scream’, released as part of the ‘FINAL CUT’ deluxe edition in 2019.
The band will be making their return to the UK once more as part of the stacked Download Festival line-up. Taking place between June 10-14, they join headliners Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses and Linkin Park, plus the likes of Bad Omens, Cypress Hill, Trivium and Architects.
Tickets are available from right here.

Arch Enemy have kick-started a whole new chapter with the announcement of their new vocalist and release of their first work together.

That vocalist is Lauren Hart, who you may recognise from her time with American melodic death metallers Once Human. She takes the place of Alissa White-Gluz, who announced that she was parting ways with the band back in November of last year.
Michael Amott, guitarist and band founder, had this to say about bringing Lauren into the fold:
“Connecting with Lauren has marked an important step in my journey. Working with her was an exceptional experience – her remarkable voice, coupled with her dedication and professionalism, brings a rare level of excellence. I look forward to continuing the collaboration!”
And the band aren’t messing about when it comes to introducing Lauren to the masses with a stunning new track, their first music since last year’s full-length ‘Blood Dynastry’. The track is called ‘To The Last Breath’, and is a thrashing, tenacious, wonderfully triumphant piece of heavy metal power. From the riffs that bring back the glories of the melodeath boom of the 90s to Lauren’s knack for guttural and grand deliveries, it is a statement of intent that sends shivers up the spine.
The start of a new chapter has never sounded so fresh.
Michael had this to add about the track, stating, “Make no mistake – this song is a reckoning. Musically, it’s unapologetically aligned with my original vision for the band – and I believe longtime fans will recognise that immediately. Lyrically, it’s about seeing through deception and dismantling the illusion of control. It captures that moment when you realise you’ve been fed poison – and you choose to fight back. Once that clarity hits, there’s no retreat. It’s do or die.”
The band will be heading out on a run across Europe to celebrate this new beginning, and they are playing some TINY rooms. Here they are.

London-based black metal quartet Unmother return with their new full-length album, State Dependent Memory on February 20 with physical editions available on vinyl and cassette via Fiadh Productions. But you can hear the whole thing with us now!
Formed in 2019 by members of Those Damn Thieves, Formless Body, and Dothe, Unmother have steadily carved out a distinct identity within the U.K. underground. Their sound fuses traditional black metal with post-metal through experimental structures, channeling bleak, urban atmospheres.
State Dependent Memory was mixed in London by Angeliki Mourgela and mastered by Roland Rodas at Cavern of Echoes Studio. As with their debut, drum performances were recorded by Krzysztof Klingbein, ensuring continuity amid the band’s evolving sound.
“We wanted State Dependent Memory to reflect the isolation a large metropolis can impose on you, at times torturing, at times redeeming. This was our effort to try and capture the feeling of being lost inside a vast, busy, and suffocating urban landscape,” say the band.
“Some moments reflect how we experience this environment overall: the constant tension of ‘My Armor,’ the monotonically repeated guitar theme of ‘Bear Hug,’ the eerie synths of ‘Modern Dystopia.’ Others are more personal and introspective, like the experimental approach of the title track and the cover of ‘Attiki–Viktoria’ (a tribute to central Athens), while ‘Magda’ stems from experiencing horrific events through the lens of living in a big city and references the mother of murdered musician and antifascist Pavlos Fyssas in 2013.
