  • Poison The Well Share Atmospherically Dense New Track ‘Everything Hurts’

Poison The Well have shared another piece of their upcoming album ‘Peace In Place’, and it shows off even more of what they have in their inimitable arsenal.

Titled ‘Everything Hurts’, it sits on the side of the band that has mastered the art of making even the most beautiful of melodies feel like they weigh a thousand tonnes. With vocalist Jeffrey Moreira delivering soulful refrains as much as iron-clad barks, the song allows its heartfelt sentiment to sit at the forefront. That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for some heft, too, with the towering conclusion of the track feeling like a boot to the temple.

Jeffrey had this to say about it all, explaining, “‘Everything Hurts’ is about the patience and effort it takes to keep relationships alive. I care deeply about the people in my life, but even the people you love can be frustrating sometimes. And it’s important to remember that we can be just as frustrating to them. We all have our moments — and I have my moments too. The ones that stick around are the ones you have a unique connection with. You can’t put up with everyone’s shit, so the people you keep close are the ones whose shit you actually want to deal with.”

‘Peace In Place’ is set for release on March 20 via SharpTone Records. It is the band’s first body of work since 2009’s ‘The Tropic Rot’.

Jeffrey had this to say about the process of returning to the fold, stating, “Joining Poison the Well at 18 and chasing music shaped how I approach life. Coming back 16 years later — unsure if I could still do what I once left behind — only reinforced how strong our bond is and how much this band has given me. I’m grateful to do this again with my friends, and to share a record made with honesty, intention, and connection at its core.

You can check out another taste of the album in the form of ‘Thoroughbreds’ right now.
