Danish folk metal outfit Vansind has released their sophomore album, Hævnen, via Mighty Music. Following their 2023 debut, the new record explores themes of revenge, betrayal, and sacrifice through a lens of Nordic mythology and Scandinavian history. The band expands their sonic identity by blending crushing metal riffs and harsh growls with soaring clean vocals, bagpipes, and tin whistles.

US folk metal duo Forgotten Shrine has released their new single, “Halo.” The track explores the emotional narrative of wanting to see the best in someone despite witnessing their darker reality. Featuring an array of string and folk instruments, the song provides a bright, textural backdrop to the clean, intimate vocal deliveries from both members of the group.

Comprised of Josh Alexander and Sofia Frasz, the ensemble incorporates unique genre influences into their heavy sound. Hailing from Pennsylvania and Maryland, the duo leans into American roots, specifically calling back to Appalachian folk traditions to create their distinct take on the genre. “Halo” showcases their experimental side, seamlessly weaving country and pop elements into their characteristic style.

With a career that has helped define melodic rock, Beck continues to showcase her dynamic and nuanced voice alongside a curated team of world-class musicians.
