    CBGB, the New York club that famously served as the home base for NYC’s punk scene in the ’70s, shut down way back in 2006, but it lives on as a brand activation. Back in 2023, the CBGB Festival came to Brooklyn’s Under The K Bridge Park, and its lineup included legendary punk-adjacent types like Iggy Pop, Jack White, the Damned, Johnny Marr, and the current reunited version of the Sex Pistols. This year, the CBGB Festival will return, and it boasts a lineup of legendary punk-adjacent types like Morrissey, Patti Smith, Interpol, and the current reunited version of the Sex Pistols.

  • CBGB Festival Announces The Sex Pistols & Frank Carter, Militarie Gun, Violet Grohl & More

    New York’s legendary punk club CBGB will once again be revived for a special festival, with The Sex Pistols & Frank Carter, Militarie Gun, Violet Grohl & more set to perform.

    Taking place on September 26 at Brooklyn Under The K Bridge, the event will headlined by Morrissey, Patti Smith and Interpol.

    Bikini Kill, Bad Nerves, High Vis, Buzzcocks and Mannequin Pussy are among the other names on the lineup.

    OFFICER LUCIFER‘s transmission continues with the new single and video, “Swallow“. The track presents an uncompromising criticism of manufactured misinformation that is designed to confuse and disorientate perceptions of reality. “Swallow” follows the release of “Far From Right” featuring Page Hamilton of HELMET.

    Guitarist David Coloma comments:
    “‘Swallow’ is a direct confrontation with blind obedience. A track about submission, manipulation, and the systems that thrive when people stop thinking for themselves.”

    OFFICER LUCIFER‘s sound is rooted in raw aggression born from a fusion of genres including metal, punk, grunge, and Latin rhythms. “Swallow” unleashes an anguished-fueled attack of gritty distortion, driving rhythms, and melodic vocal melodies performed by Yves Myr. The song exists within OFFICER LUCIFER‘s narrative world where engineered hybrids rise up against their human creators, mirroring real-world cycles of control, corruption, and resistance.

    The lyrics for “Swallow” expose a cycle of bombardment; the continuous exposure to lies, biased perspectives and fear mongering. The song confronts the unquestioned consumption and ingestion of these fabrications that leads to a perspective of existence and selfhood that is an illusion.

    Drums and bass for “Swallow” were performed by Andrés Benavides and Pancho Tomaselli and recorded by Daniel Pasquel at La Increible Sociedad – Quito, Ecuador. The track was mixed by Jesse Gander at Rain City Recorders and mastered by Jamie King.

    OFFICER LUCIFER is a conceptual heavy music project built on confrontation, storytelling, and sonic collision. Drawing from metal, punk, grunge, and Latin rhythmic traditions, the project creates an aggressive and immersive sound that refuses genre boundaries.

    Each release exists within a dystopian narrative framework where engineered half-animal, half-machine beings turn against their human creators, reflecting themes of control, resistance, and collapse in the modern world.

    The project first revealed its universe with the debut single “Uncivil War”, establishing a raw and cinematic atmosphere where chaos is not background noise but the driving force. The music is designed to feel physical and urgent, pairing crushing instrumentation with a sense of narrative tension and unrest.

    OFFICER LUCIFER operates as a collective rather than a traditional band. The core creative vision is shaped by Pancho Tomaselli, David Coloma, and Andrés Benavides, musicians whose international careers span diverse projects, scenes, and stages.

    Their combined experience fuels a foundation that is both disciplined and volatile. As the project evolves, additional collaborators are brought in to expand the sound, introducing new textures, voices, and perspectives without diluting the central vision.

    Beyond the music, OFFICER LUCIFER functions as a fully realized world. Band members are portrayed as hybrid soldiers assigned distinct military-style ranks, reinforcing a shared identity rooted in rebellion, unity, and defiance. The result is not just a collection of songs, but a living mythos designed to confront listeners and challenge complacency.
