Mastodon have announced their ninth studio album, Marrow Deep, which will arrive on August 28 through Loma Vista Recordings. The announcement follows the release of the album’s first single, “Your Ghost Again,” earlier this month.
The band have also shared a second preview of the record with “Snakes For Dinner,” featuring Queens of the Stone Age vocalist Josh Homme.
Marrow Deep stands as the first album released by the band since the passing of guitarist Brent Hinds, following a motorcycle accident in 2025.

“I’m Done” is about carrying the world on your shoulders for so long that it stops feeling temporary and starts feeling permanent. Life gets heavy, and you keep pushing through it anyway, because you don’t have the luxury of quitting. No matter where you go, there you are just you and the truth and in that moment the mask falls. You’ve reached the end of the rope. You don’t negotiate with it. It’s been trapped under your ribs until it finally rips out of your chest, screaming, ‘I’m Done.’”
