When you think of Thailand, I’d venture to say their metal scene probably isn’t the first thing to come to mind, especially when they’ve got all that bomb ass food and culture to absolutely fawn over. G6pd are looking to put Thai metal on the map though, and their new single and visualizer video for “Black Sun” is just the release to do that with.
G6pd come from the Northern Lanna Chiang Mai region of Thailand, G6pd blend the intricacies of the culture with the brute force of heavy hitting death metal in a union that is undeniably amazing to my hears. The band describes the overall aura of the track as:
“It’s the state of a world where the light has gone out… and death is drawing near. The Sun, is a symbol of life and hope, has turned into a sign of doom… a curse hanging over the world.”
Also, when you think of a visualizer, it’s not like that Microsoft Media Player type one we all zoned out to as kids. Check it out below and you’ll see what I mean.
G6pd is:
Vocals : (TJ) Pisitpong Chandaphom
Bass : Wipoopong Jiraprapoosak
Guitar : Toranid Keratipal
Guitar : Ivan Sadovnikov
Drum : Maximillian Villagran

Since the release of their latest record The Other Side Of Make-Believe, Interpol have been celebrating anniversaries, like 20 years of Turn On The Bright Lights and then 20 years of Antics. The band announced on social media earlier this month that they have new music coming soon, and last night they debuted a new song called “See Out Loud” at São Paulo’s Audio.
