  • A Welcome Distraction With OLLE HILLBORG From GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS

Formed in Stockholm in 1983, Glorious Bankrobbers quickly earned notoriety for their uncompromising sound and electrifying live performances. Their 1984 debut, produced by Kee Marcello (Easy Action/Europe), marked the arrival of a band destined to push boundaries. By 1989, the group cemented their place in rock history with Dynamite Sex Doze—a landmark release that became […]
  • The Black Crowes | A Pound Of Feathers – New Studio Release Review

The Black Crowes present a wonderfully loud jangle on their 2026 platter, A Pound Of Feathers. Claiming that it took no more than 10 days to record, this is the follow up to their 2024 critically acclaimed and Grammy-nominated, Happiness Bastards.

All songs here were penned by vocalist Chris and guitarist Rich Robinson, the brother core of the Crowes. We get a powerful “Profane Prophecy” to kick off things, with its crunchy guitar, wailing slide, and shouted backing vocals. “Cruel Streak’s” follows, showcasing drummer Cully Symington.

I like all the unadulterated rockin’ of the overall production here, and believe The Black Crowes are a band that do this kind of loosey goosy strut better than most. For me, the true meat-and-taters is the first half of the record with Rich Robinson’s stellar slide work, Erik Deutsch’s piano and Chris Robinson’s brilliant vocal. It all comes together in the all-acoustic, brilliantly tight and subtle “Pharmacy Chronicles.”

The five songs on the A Pound Of Lead second half begin again with that crunchy Stones-like panache on “It’s Like That,” which finds Chris wailing about being left by his lover. Mackenzie Adams and Leslie Grant once again lend some great single-word backing vocals in the chorus.  “Blood Red Regrets” and “You Call This A Good Time” get the Crowes strut working before  stripping down for “Eros Blues.” Its slow electric piano, swirly organ verses and nasty riffy chorus are pretty much perfect. Ender “Doomsday Doggerel” could have been the lost Led Zeppelin tune they never wrote.

It’s nice to still have the Robinson brothers and whatever company they are keeping these days, still crowing in their rag-taggle, Southern-stained way. The eleven songs of A Pound Of Feathers are surely worth a spin when you’re in the mood for no-nonsense, pull-no-punches, in-your-face rock and roll.

  • FLO – “Leak It”

These days, it feels like the UK trio FLO are the last straight-up pop girl group left standing, at least outside of the K-pop machine. FLO made their name by reviving the sleek R&B of the late ’90s, and they’re extremely good at it. Their very fun debut album Access All Areas came out in…

  • SEETHER Reveals “Beneath The Surface” Digital EP & Releases “Into The Ground” Single

Seether are set to drop a new digital-only EP, Beneath The Surface, on April 17 through Concord Records. The first single, “Into The Ground”, is already out, arriving with a lyric video.

Beneath The Surface extends the cycle behind the band’s latest album, The Surface Seems So Far, adding a few more tracks tied to those sessions. The EP features four songs, including two previously unreleased studio cuts — “Into The Ground” and “Proud Daddy” — both taken from the original The Surface Seems So Far recordings. It also includes live versions of “Lost All Control” and “Judas Mind”, recorded during a SiriusXM Octane session.

Bassist Dale Stewart shared his thoughts on the release: “I’m really stoked about our new EP. “Into The Ground” really gets me pumped and “Proud Daddy” is one of my favorite songs from the last sessions we did.”

The Surface Seems So Far was released in September 2024 via Fantasy Records.

On the live front, Seether will hit the road this fall supporting Staind on the Break The Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour. The run takes place across September and October, with additional support from Hoobastank and Hinder. Produced by Live Nation, the 25-date trek begins September 8 in Atlanta and wraps October 19 in Austin, hitting amphitheaters and arenas across the U.S. and Canada.

  • FOO FIGHTERS Release Third Single “Caught In The Echo” From Upcoming Album “Your Favorite Toy

Foo Fighters have released “Caught In The Echo”, the third single from their forthcoming 12th studio album Your Favorite Toy, out 04/24 via Roswell Records/RCA Records.

The track serves as the album opener and arrives as the most combustible preview yet of what the record has in store. Kicking off with a repeated “Do I? Do I? Do I? Do I?” and closing on “Who can save us now?”, it signals the kind of raw, live-room energy the band has been building toward — drawing comparisons to “Bridge Burning”, the opener from 2011’s Wasting Light.

Your Favorite Toy was recorded at home and co-produced by Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman, with engineering also handled by Roman and mixing by Mark “Spike” Stent.

To mark the single’s release, the band hid 20 personally burned CDs of the track across the San Fernando Valley — tucked into indie record shops, grocery stores, bookshops, and pharmacies — each one featuring hand-drawn artwork by Dave Grohl and his daughter Harper. Updates on the scavenger hunt are being posted to the band’s Instagram.

The album’s arrival kicks off the “Take Cover” world tour, with a North American stadium run launching 08/04 at Rogers Stadium in Toronto and wrapping 09/26 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Queens Of The Stone Age are confirmed as direct support on all dates except the 09/12 show in Fargo. A newly added 04/28 date at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut has already sold out.

Behind the kit on all of it is Ilan Rubin — the former Nine Inch Nails drummer who joined Foo Fighters earlier in 2025, replacing Josh Freese. Rubin made his live debut with the band on 09/13/2025 at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, a surprise all-ages show for 900 people. Grohl introduced him from the stage that night with characteristic restraint: “Ladies and gentlemen, will you please welcome… The most badass motherfucker, Ilan Rubin, is playing drums in the Foo Fighters right now. It’s official. You can stamp the passport.”

Foo Fighters are Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin.

  • No, Josh Scogin Isn’t Joining Better Lovers

    Josh Scogin of The Chariot

In the wake of the news that noise rock two-some ’68 was coming to an end, folks all over the internet have clamored for one thing to become reality: that vocalist Josh Scogin step in as Greg Puciato’s replacement in metalcore supergroup Better Lovers.

It’s not that hard to see the throughline, really. Scogin once fronted mathcore outfit The Chariot, so it’s obvious to some people that the dude has the sort of chops to hold down a band like Better Lovers. It makes so much sense that the topic has reached a fever pitch, that on top of addressing the rumors previously, the man himself took to social media to further dispel any confusion.

“To the rumors of me joining Better Lovers.

“First of all, let me say that I am humbled (and honestly flattered) that folks would think of me as a good frontman (front person??) for Better Lovers. That machine is such a powerhouse of greatness, that even throwing my name in the mix is high praise.

“But… As much as I love the dudes and the music, I am not joining Better Lovers. I don’t really join bands. I start them. And as fun as it would be to lock ourselves in a room and create music together, I just have some other ideas brewing for now, that I want to explore.

“Plus it is really important to me that folks realize

“The story arc of ’68 is a standalone story and it has nothing do with any external situations (like joining another band) It is its own trajectory. Set in motion from the very beginning.

“Anyway — I’m very excited to see what’s next for Better Lovers. We all chat pretty often — So I know they are cooking.

“So I encourage you to enjoy their story as it unfolds. Also don’t miss the season finale of ’68 this May/June — very (very) last show in Atlanta on June 20th.

“— No A.I. was used to write this. Just a dude, his thoughts and poor attention to punctuation and spelling.”

So there you have it. Straight from the source. Dude’s not in Better Lovers. After all, ’68 still has some time left on their farewell tour before he’s free and ready to collaborate with anyone else.
