Papa Roach Unite Fans Worldwide With Wake Up Calling Video

Papa Roach have unveiled the official music video for their latest single Wake Up Calling, marking another major moment in the band’s ongoing Rise Of The Roach era.

The track has already achieved significant success, becoming the band’s 15th career #1 at Rock Radio in the United States and simultaneously hitting #1 in Germany. The video, directed by Hannah Gray Hall, brings the emotional weight of the song to life with a powerful visual narrative.

“I have grown up listening to Papa Roach,” Director Hannah Gray Hall said, “and a beautiful thing about the band is you have people who have been with them for 25 years, and new fans finding them now. Their music is inherited. This song really spoke to me emotionally, and I am stoked to have the opportunity to make an accompanying piece for it.”

To celebrate the release, Papa Roach hosted an exclusive digital fan event, giving selected fans early access to the video alongside the band. The event featured an extended discussion covering touring, new music, and the creation of the video, as well as a live fan Q&A session.

Frontman Jacoby Shaddix describes Wake Up Calling as a deeply personal track about standing on the edge of disaster and choosing a different path. “It’s one of the most raw, emotional songs we’ve written in this new era,” he says. The song captures themes of resilience, emotional struggle and ultimately choosing connection over self-destruction.

Produced by Colin Brittain, the track is the third single from the band’s forthcoming album, following their 2022 release Ego Trip.

Papa Roach will also bring their live show to the UK and Ireland in November 2026 as part of the Rise Of The Roach tour, with arena dates confirmed in Glasgow, Dublin, Birmingham, Manchester, London and Cardiff.

Continuing to evolve while staying true to their roots, Papa Roach remain one of the most enduring forces in Heavy Metal and Alternative Rock.

Tour tickets are available from myticket.co.uk/artists/papa-roach.

  • Dave Mustaine / In My Darkest Hour Memoir Set For September 2026 Release

    Megadeth - Bloodstock Festival 2023.

Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine has announced the release of his new memoir, In My Darkest Hour, set for publication on September 8, 2026 via Da Capo. The book offers a deeply personal account of Mustaine’s battle with cancer and the challenges that reshaped both his life and career.

Chronicling his journey through diagnosis, treatment and recovery, the memoir reveals how he continued to create music while facing one of the most difficult periods of his life.

Mustaine reflects on themes of survival, family, faith and creativity, detailing how confronting mortality changed his perspective both as a musician and as a person. The memoir also explores his long career in Heavy Metal, including his legacy with Megadeth and his influence on the genre.

“One of the most harrowing experiences of my adult life has been my seven-year journey through cancer treatment and onward into remission,” Dave Mustaine says. “This story is considerably more than just go to the doctor, get diagnosed, get treatment, and hopefully live happily ever after.

“This was a journey of me saving myself, staying alive, keeping my family together, and continuing to make music through it all.”

“Da Capo is proud to publish Dave Mustaine’s most unblinking memoir to date, one that isn’t only for Megadeth fans.”

The release follows a period of major success for Megadeth, including chart-topping albums and a global farewell tour, further cementing Mustaine’s status as a defining force in Heavy Metal.

  • Album review: Exodus – Goliath

Arguably the true progenitors of American thrash metal, it’s been a frustrating, fragmented four-and-a-half decades for Exodus. At one point, it felt like the Bay Area bad boys would be more famous for the members lost to other bands – Kirk Hammett to Metallica a couple of years in, and then loaning Gary Holt to Slayer much later on – than for accomplishments of their own.

Then, after capitalising on ‘veteran’ status during the mid-’00s thrash revival, that era’s lovably abrasive frontman Rob Dukes jumped ship and they started over – again. Reuniting with Rob another decade down the line, 12th album Goliath seems to acknowledge their long, scrappy journey to this point, less interested in sheer speed than maximum impact.

Big and clever are not on the menu. There are devilish Slayer vibes but little substance on snarling opener 3111, a song about narco killings which could have been titled as a target for how many headbangs to hit in its 249-second stretch. The Changing Me opens with a gleaming riff, but rapidly descends into unashamed chuggery. Promise You This feels like a joyously heavy hoedown. Even the Latin title on Hostis Humani Generis (Enemy Of All Mankind) is a front for adolescent battle-cries, ‘Go on a tear / without a care!’

That’s not really a criticism, of course. It’s not unusual at festival shows to see fans gleefully chanting ‘EXO-DUMB’ while butting heads in the pit, and as soundtracks for wasting brain cells, the cranium-scooping smash of 2 Minutes Hate or Violence Works’ weirdly jaunty rhythms could hardly be more effective.

Alongside the gut-churning title-track, Summon Of The God Unknown does feel like something of an atmospheric horror detour into. But then they rattle home with perplexingly-named tenth track The Dirtiest Of The Dozen in a storm of clenched fists and melted frets. Not at the sharpest bit of the cutting edge, then, but these are fine songs to do yourself a damage to, equal parts cracked neck and shit-eating grin.

    Verdict: 3/5

For fans of: Testament, Municipal Waste, Slayer

Goliath is released on March 20 via Napalm.
