Blues get better with age Aging Disgracefully’s is the single out now
Good Day Noir Family,
Aging Disgracefully return with “Blues Get Better With Age,” and the title alone already hints at a philosophy earned the hard way.Blues get better with age Aging Disgracefully’s is the single out now
The track doesn’t chase polish or perfection. It embraces grit. This is the kind of song that values scars over shine.
The guitars carry a raw tone, slightly rough around the edges, yet deliberate in their phrasing. They don’t aim for technical fireworks. Rather, they lean into feel. The rhythm locks into a steady, almost hypnotic pulse that anchors the whole performance. The groove repeats insistently, inviting reflection while keeping your foot tapping.
What truly defines the track is its attitude. The vocal delivery sounds lived-in and self-aware. There’s irony in the phrasing, but also resilience. You sense stories behind every line. This isn’t blues as a costume. It’s blues as biography.
The duo approaches hardship with humor instead of bitterness. That perspective shifts the mood. Instead of dwelling in tragedy, they frame experience as proof of survival. The message becomes clear: blues isn’t just a genre. It’s life translated into rhythm and melody.
The chorus lands with quiet authority. The title phrase feels honest rather than boastful. After all, credibility in blues comes from experience. Aging Disgracefully sound like artists who have faced setbacks and stood back up. That authenticity gives weight to every note.
The atmosphere evokes a slow evening in New Orleans. Imagine sipping bourbon while ice melts gradually in the heat. The song unfolds at that same pace. It doesn’t rush. It lets you sit with it.
“Blues Get Better With Age” proves that maturity can deepen music rather than soften it. Aging Disgracefully deliver a track that feels grounded, confident, and unfiltered.

Burning Flags is Dan Star’s Single Out Now
Good Day Noir Family,
An intense, atmospheric piano introduces Dan Star’s “Burning Flags,” and creates a cinematic tone.Burning Flags is Dan Star’s Single Out Now
Shortly after, sweeping strings cut through the air, adding a layer of nostalgia that deepens the emotional weight.
The arrangement feels spacious at first. Then the voice enters, nearly alone, wrapped in reverb that draws you inward rather than pushing outward.
The track doesn’t remain fragile for long. It builds gradually, expanding in intensity and texture. The structure reveals careful craftsmanship. Subtle electronic touches and layered instrumentation begin to surface, and there are hints of Imagine Dragons in the way the dynamics rise and fall. Yet Dan Star maintains a distinct identity, guided by message as much as melody.
The world feels unsettled, borders are debated, and conflicts persist. Within this context, “Burning Flags” lands with urgency. The line “Different Prayers, Same Body Bags” stands out sharply. It captures the absurdity of division and the shared cost of war in a single, striking image.
As the chorus unfolds, the emotional intensity increases without losing clarity. The drums step forward, grounding the arrangement. The strings swell again, reinforcing the dramatic arc. The song balances reflection and power effectively.
The accompanying video enhances the experience. Visual storytelling amplifies the themes, allowing the message to reach beyond sound alone. The combination of music and imagery strengthens the impact.
Dan Star also integrates innovative production techniques. Modern technology supports the composition, yet it never overshadows the human core of the track. The emotional center remains intact.
“Burning Flags” invites listeners to question division and reconsider shared humanity. It’s thoughtful yet forceful, melodic yet purposeful. Dan Star delivers a single that engages heart and mind.

CAVITY: Reptilian Records To Reissue Remastered Human Abjection Debut LP From Infamous Miami Sludge Metal Crew On May 29th | Preorders Posted + Florida Tour Launches This Week

photo by Tracy Fernandez Reptilian Records presents a remastered vinyl repress of Human Abjection, the debut LP from infamous Miami sludge metal icons, CAVITY. The reactivated band is also back on the road, playing a string of shows across Florida this week, with Desertfest London coming up.
Formed in 1992, CAVITY is one of the primary acts responsible for pioneering the early sludge metal movement alongside the likes of Melvins, Eyehategod, Noothgrush, -16-, and others in the early 1990s underground, before the genre tag was a household term for most heavy music fans.

CAVITY dealt lumbering, low-end, scathing, slug-paced crushers, delivered through massive volume and sheer glacial force, releasing records through revered labels like Rhetoric Records, Man’s Ruin, Bacteria Sour, Hydra Head, and others over the years, including splits with Daisycutter, Bongzilla, and a four-way split with Cable, Jesuit, and Overcast as part of Hydra Head’s In These Black Days tribute series to Black Sabbath.
CAVITY disbanded in 2001, and its members went on to form Black Cobra, Floor, Torche, and more. After fifteen years apart, the band reformed briefly as Cavity A.D, from 2015 until pandemic/lockdown-stricken 2020, when they parted ways once again. In 2026, CAVITY returns with new live appearances and more.

In conjunction with the band’s reformation, long-running noise rock label Reptilian Records now revives CAVITY’s long-out-of-print 1995 debut album, Human Abjection, with a proper vinyl and digital reissue, nearly three-and-a-half decades after its initial arrival. The album will be available in a limited-edition gold nugget vinyl remaster with a poster insert.
CAVITY’s limited Human Abjection vinyl remaster, out May 29th, is now available for preorder at Reptilian Records’ Bandcamp HERE, US webshop HERE, and EU shop HERE.

The reissue is announced as CAVITY returns to the stage, with a run of dates through their hometown state of Florida, playing Tampa, Orlando, Miami, and Jacksonville this week, March 19th through 22nd. The band is also set to play Desertfest London – headlining the Black Heart stage, Friday 15th May – joining Clutch, Truckfighters, -16-, Deaf Club, and many others at the festival.

CAVITY will also play Emissions From The Monolith October 8th-11th in Youngstown, Ohio, alongside Today Is The Day, Rwake, Deadbird, Solace, Weedeater, Great Falls, Kowloonn Walled City, and countless others. Additional live plans and more are already in motion for later this year.
CAVITY:
Dan Gorostiaga – bass
Rene Barge – vocals
Ed Matus – guitar
Andrew McLees – guitar
Pat Forrest – drums
