Forged in 1986, EXHORDER’s journey has proven exciting, yet tumultuous. After a twenty-seven-year absence following their final Roadrunner Records release in 1992, EXHORDER re-entered the game with an album considered by many to be a contender for the “Best Comeback Album” category. The band released Mourn The Southern Skies in October of 2019 through Nuclear Blast Records.

Fraught with euphoric peaks and crippling valleys throughout its existence, lineup changes and the 2020-2021 pandemic, EXHORDER clawed back through the muck to release Defectum Omnium, the Latin phrase for “The Failure of All,” in 2024. “The world is a dumpster fire, and we are all complicit,” noted singer Kyle Thomas when elaborating on the title. Produced by EXHORDER and mixed by Jens BogrenDefectum Omnium puts a foot back into the roots of the band’s inception.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
John DeMena Unveils Live Video for “Infinite At All” at The Viper Room – Out March 20, 2026
Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles rock artist John DeMena brings a raw and intimate energy to his live performance of “Infinite At All,” captured at the legendary The Viper Room in West Hollywood. Featuring virtuoso Peruvian guitarist Sander Alex , this stripped-down rendition highlights DeMena’s cinematic space-rock sensibilities and expressive vocals, paired with Alex’s remarkable technical precision and interpretive sensitivity.
The performance builds into a stunning exchange of guitar solos—soaring melodies that intertwine and close the song with an electrifying yet elegant musical dialogue. “Infinite At All” serves as the final track on DeMena’s debut album Dreams and Lies , and this live version reveals a more vulnerable and intimate side of the song, offering fans a front-row experience of the artists’ spontaneous collaboration.

“Performing these songs with Sander was a great experience,” says DeMena. “There’s a raw energy and intimacy in delivering these stripped-down songs that you just don’t get in the studio. I can’t wait for fans to experience it—it’s the closest thing to being there with us on stage.”

Known for blending alternative rock, flamenco, and atmospheric textures, DeMena has collaborated with renowned musicians including Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Chris Cornell), Pete Griffin (Steve Vai, Dethklok), and Jeff Babko (Jimmy Kimmel Live!). He has toured the U.S., Chile, and Spain, sharing stages with acts such as Good Charlotte and Grammy-winning guitarist Mark Lettieri of Snarky Puppy.
DeMena’s debut album Dreams and Lies received international acclaim with coverage from Loudwire, Metal Hammer, Rock Hard , and Sonic Perspectives . His cinematic video for “Eternal Eyes” earned multiple awards and nominations worldwide, including at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards and the Girona Film Festival .
The live video for “Infinite At All” premieres on March 20, 2026 . Fans can experience it and connect with DeMena here:

  • Mycon Unleash Crushing Doom With “Where Silence Sings A Hymn” – @thebeast

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mycon Unleash Crushing Doom With “Where Silence Sings A Hymn”
    Streaming everywhere: https://www.submithub.com/link/mycon
Mukilteo, Washington doom metal trio Mycon deliver a towering statement of atmosphere and weight with their release “Where Silence Sings A Hymn,” available now. Built on massive riffs, cavernous tone, and haunting melodic passages, the record stands as a powerful entry into the modern doom landscape while staying rooted in the heavy tradition of the Pacific Northwest.
Emerging from the rain-soaked shadows of the Northwest heavy scene, Mycon craft songs that move with deliberate force. Thick, layered guitars collide with thunderous rhythms and bleak melodic textures, creating an immersive listening experience that feels as vast and brooding as the forests and coastline that surround the band’s home region. Their sound blends crushing doom weight with hypnotic groove, delivering music that unfolds slowly and patiently before erupting into towering waves of distortion.
Formed in Mukilteo, Washington in 2020, the band was built around a shared passion for the slow-burning power of doom metal and the atmospheric pull of melodic heaviness. Mycon channel that influence into compositions that balance punishing riffs with moments of dark beauty, guiding listeners through expansive sonic landscapes that feel both meditative and crushing.
The band’s live performances bring that same atmosphere to the stage. Mycon build their sound patiently, locking into deep grooves before rising into enormous crescendos that fill the room with a wall of sound. The result is an immersive and punishing experience that resonates strongly with fans of heavy, melodic, and atmospheric metal.
Fans of Yob, Conan, and Horn Of The Rhino will recognize the spirit behind Mycon’s approach, but the band’s voice remains distinctly their own. Their music reflects the patience, darkness, and raw power that define the Pacific Northwest heavy scene while carving out a path that is unmistakably doom.
“Where Silence Sings A Hymn” continues that mission, pushing deeper into Mycon’s signature blend of crushing riffs and haunting melodic weight while setting the stage for even more material on the horizon.

  • Watch This Danish Town Play “Master Of Puppets” One Note at a Time

    master_mytownplays

Most days, I wake up and think that the internet was a fucking mistake, even though its existence pays my bills. But then there are some days where I see something so cool, I give the interwebs a bit of a reprieve — and today was one of those days. You see, a reader of ours named Marco Winther shared a super cool project he did involving a guitar, a town square, the citizens of Hilleroed, Denmark, and Metallica‘s iconic track “Master of Puppets”.

The project, which Winther says he wants to call the “My Town Plays” series, sees 55 different people of varying musical capabilities playing a single note at a time on the guitar. Each instance was recorded on All eight and a half minutes of the track is represented in this video. That means more than 2,100 individual notes were recorded, edited together, and placed in the correct order. The whole thing was filmed over the course of a single week this past August, resulting in approximately 15 hours of footage and direct-in guitar tracks.

Once completed, Winther said he premiered the video to a buncha town residents and Metallica fans on the Master of Puppets album’s 40th anniversary back on March 3.

Speaking of the video, Winther said he wants to continue making this video with other kick ass songs.

So what other songs would you like to see Winther and his project tackle next? My vote’s on a Tool song…
