I’m such a fan of when the line between metal and wrestling blurs. They go hand in hand, which makes even more sense when considering how quite a few members of bands are also a part of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) or at the very least, huge fuckin fans of it. That all came together on stage Saturday night (November 23) when Deadbody performed “Dead Body,” the intro theme song for the wrestling group House of Black, live at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Check out the performance below.
Just in case you weren’t aware of the relation (which at this point, how could you not be?), House of Black includes tag teamers Brody King and Malakai Black. King is the vocalist for the hardcore band God’s Hate, which also happens to have brothers Colin and Taylor Young in the band. The brothers Young are in Deadbody, along with Miles McIntosh and Jorge Herrera.
House of Black’s entrance theme music is basically like a metal compilation when it comes to its individual members. Like literally, since Closed Casket released a limited edition 12″ of the songs last year. It featured all of the House of Black stable’s intro songs (sans Malakai Blacks at one point theme song “Ogentroost” by Amenra. Kings of the Black Throne’s (which is Brody King and Malakai Black as a pair) specific theme is Colin Young’s “Kings of the Black Throne.” Julia Hart’s theme is aptly called “Harder Hart,” performed by Young and Dying Wish’s Emma Boster while Twitching Tongues does Buddy Matthews’ theme with “Eyes Adjust,” and King’s theme is of course by his own band—their song “Be Harder.”
