Billy Morrison has teamed with Dexter Holland for “Never Gonna Change,” a fiery pop punk anthem that merges raging guitars and a prison-break pace with the unmistakable vocals of The Offspring lead singer. This unstoppably catchy anthem of alienation and rebellion is the latest single from the British guitarist, singer, and songwriter’s album Hollow, out on August 7 via TLG|ZOID distributed by Virgin Music Group.

“Never Gonna Change” paints a picture of a dysfunctional home life and the feeling of eternal youth—live for the moment, party hard, regret nothing…the battle cry of every generation.

“‘Never Gonna Change’ is one of those perfect pop-punk slices of rebellion that hopefully spans a couple of generational gaps,” says Morrison. “Teenagers will always feel the same —misunderstood — and Dexter has been one of the most vital voices of teenage angst and rebellion since The Offspring hit the world running in 1984. So when I finished writing this track with Los Angeles-based songwriter Jacob Bunton, it was clear we wanted Dexter to be the voice of the track. Dexter and I recently performed together in Royal Machines [Morrison’s side project], so I dropped him a text and he loved the idea. Thanks to the miracle of modern technology, he was able to record his tracks in the middle of an Offspring tour, and Barry Pointer mixed it all into the killer track we have here.”

Dexter Holland comments: “Billy Morrison has a great track record and is a good guy, so when he sent me ‘Never Gonna Change’ for a collab, it was an immediate ‘I’m in.’ The song is just the right amount of angst, rebellion, and fun. A summer banger if you ask me.”

The video for “Never Gonna Change” is an eye-catching visual treat. “The days of a black screen with white text for a lyric video are way behind us, and Mike Savage is creating killer, story-driven lyric videos which fit this track perfectly,” says Morrison. “It’s an easy, fun way to put some appropriate visuals to the song and get the lyrics out there. Mike did a great job on this one.”

“Never Gonna Change” is the third single from Hollow, following the album’s first release, “Becoming” [featuring Sully Erna of Godsmack & GRAMMY Award winner Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme]. The track peaked at #19 on Billboard’s “Mainstream Rock” chart and marked Morrison’s third Top 20 rock track overall.

Erna delivers an impassioned and raspy vocal performance on this song about transforming one’s life from darkness to light, and Bettencourt rises to the occasion, ripping pure hellfire on his guest solo.

Two years ago, Billy Morrison released The Morrison Project via TLG|ZOID distributed by Virgin Music Group. It marked his third solo album (and first since 2015) and produced the #1 Active Rock Song (Mediabase) in America: “Crack Cocaine” featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Steve Stevens and co-written by all three artists. A deluxe edition of the album followed in 2025, and bonus track, “Gods Of Rock and Roll (Orchestral)”—another seismic collaboration with Osbourne and Stevens—landed in the Active Rock Top Ten (Mediabase).

Japanese metal pioneers Sigh are back today with news of their new album Goh-ka; a new highlight of atmosphere, technical mastery, and meticulously arranged epics of metallic grandeur. Main-man Mirai Kawashima notes this as being as equally personal an album as Shiki, both musically and lyrically.

From a musical perspective, if you were to place the main ingredients of Celtic Frost, Voivod, Black Sabbath, horror movies and Japan into a cauldron and stir it, you will get Goh-ka. Numerous additional spices such as psychedelic rock, prog rock and classical music are also evident over the album’s close to one-hour duration.

The album title Goh-ka has a triple meaning, being: 業火 infernal fire scorching sinners, 劫火 a huge fire that burns down the world at the end of time, and 業果 karma. The primary theme permeating the album is Kuso-zu; a series of Buddhist paintings or illustrations depicting the nine stages of a human body’s decomposition after death, created to encourage meditation on the impermanence of life, the inevitability of death, and the detachment from physical beauty and worldly attachment. It openly shows the harsh reality that no matter how beautiful you are, you’ll be dead and rot sooner or later. And Kuso-shi is a poem based on these paintings. The artworks on the cover and in the booklet of Goh-ka are therefore Kuso-zu themselves.

Joining Mirai Kawashima and Dr Mikannibal, along with guitarist Nozomu Wakai, are Frédéric Leclercq (Kreator) on bass, plus renowned US drummer Mike Heller.

Among the additional contributors to the album, Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth notably delivers a special guest guitar solo on the track “Unputenpu”.

Goh-ka was recorded across multiple studios, and once again mixed and mastered by Lasse Lammert at LSD Studios in Germany. Pre-orders of the album from the Peaceville store and band store will come with the free Legacy of Horrors 10-track Sigh sampler.

Japanese metal pioneers Sigh formed in 1989/1990. Their genre-classic Black Metal debut Scorn Defeat arrived in 1993, with a subsequent journey through the strange and the psychedelic, incorporating a whole eclectic mix of genre styles & ideas throughout their career. Sigh has remained a vital creative force in the avantgarde field whilst maintaining their old school roots, as witnessed on the 2022 album (and first for Peaceville Records), Shiki. This was followed by the remaking of their ‘Hangman’s Hymn’ album as part of the band’s 35th anniversary celebrations, in the shape of ‘I Saw the World’s End: Hangman’s Hymn MMXXV’ (2025).

International symphonic metal legends Kamelot have announced that their new album, Dark Asylum, will arrive on August 28 via Napalm Records and have shared a music video for the first single, “Ashen World,” featuring Decessus frontwoman and reigning Miss World Chile 2025 Ignacia Fernández.

From its opening moments, “Ashen World” delivers signature Kamelot grandeur: expressive lead guitar from founding guitarist Thomas Youngblood, soaring orchestration, and the symphonic arrangements that have become the band’s hallmark. “‘Ashen World’ captures that moment of standing at the crossroads between darkness and hope, where the journey forward begins,” says Youngblood. “It’s classic Kamelot at its core, while opening new doors into the world of ‘Dark Asylum.’”

Vocalist Tommy Karevik adds: “It’s a deep dive into the topography of the human mind, exploring its valleys, peaks, and the void in between. It’s about breaking free from the limiting beliefs that hold us captive and creating a new reality that allows us to expand and realize our full potential.”

Dark Asylum is set within a shadowed Neo-Victorian world, inviting listeners beyond the gates of RavenHill Asylum — an imposing institution once built as a grand cathedral, now repurposed into a place where science, faith, and madness uneasily coexist. “‘Dark Asylum’ follows a soul trapped inside a world of masks, fractured memories, and psychological torment, wandering the endless halls of RavenHill in search of truth, identity, and redemption,” Youngblood says. “What begins as a descent into darkness gradually transforms into a journey of awakening, where beneath the fear, illusion, and chaos lies the possibility of healing, hope, and ultimately a path out of the shadows into Sanctuary.”

Karevik adds: “Dark Asylum invites listeners into the hidden chambers of the human mind — a journey where every door reveals a different story, yet all remain deeply connected. At its core, the album explores the duality of human nature: the constant tension between fear and hope, chaos and stillness, destruction and healing. Through self-exploration, awareness, and inner peace, healing becomes possible.”

The album was produced by longtime Kamelot collaborator Sascha Paeth, with mixing and mastering handled by Jacob Hansen. Among the guest vocalists featured across the record’s 15 tracks are Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Eluveitie vocalist Lea-Sophie Fischer, Visions of Atlantis vocalist Clémentine Delauney, and Fernández, alongside Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir, Sólveig Sara Leupold, and Billy King.

Dark Asylum will be released on CD digipak — including a two-disc version with an instrumental edition of the album — as well as vinyl in multiple colors, cassette, and digital formats.

Nonpoint will release its eleventh studio album, The Last Word, on September 18, 2026, through 361 Degrees Records.

Alongside the announcement, the band has premiered the official music video for its latest single, “Is It”. Fans can pre-save or pre-order the album here or through major digital platforms and participating retailers.

The new single has already gained traction at Active Rock radio, debuting as the No. 1 Most Added track upon release before quickly moving into the Top 50 on the Mediabase Active Rock chart.

Frontman Elias Soriano discussed the meaning behind the single, saying: “‘Is It’ is that internal conflict where you question getting too involved? Did I push too hard? Did I ask too much? It’s that feeling of wondering if doing what you thought was right actually meant hurting the people around you.”

For Nonpoint, The Last Word represents more than simply adding another record to its catalog. According to Soriano, the album reflects the band’s determination to keep moving forward.

“In a world that sometimes wants to put a timestamp on creativity, The Last Word is our way of saying we’re just getting started,” Elias says. “We’re pushing back against expectation and pushing forward into our own next chapter.”

Soriano also explained the symbolism behind the album artwork, which features a pencil as its central image.

“This album cover tells a piece of our story,” he says. “After years of making music, we feel more aligned than ever — musically, visually, and creatively. We’re writing some of the strongest material of our career, our live shows are as powerful as they’ve ever been, and the band feels focused and energized. The pencil on the cover represents what it’s like to be handed one last tool and expected to fit everything you have left to say into it. Not because the ideas are gone, but because longevity often comes with assumptions and limits. The Last Word isn’t about accepting an ending. It’s about challenging that narrative. If this is the pencil we’re being handed, we’re going to use it — and make sure the words written with it still matter.”

The album announcement also comes with news of Nonpoint‘s “The Even More Outta Control Tour”, which begins on July 25, 2026. The shows will feature new songs from The Last Word alongside the band’s established live favorites, giving fans an early taste of the upcoming record.

After more than two decades together, Nonpoint continues to be a consistent force in hard rock, building a dedicated following through relentless touring, charting singles and a reputation for energetic live performances. With The Last Word, the band signals that it has no plans to ease up.

The group has also joined the roster of artists endorsed by Heavys, an audio company focused on headphones, earbuds, and other products designed specifically for rock and metal listeners.

Formed in South Florida in 1997 by vocalist Elias Soriano and drummer Robb Rivera, Nonpoint built its name through groove-heavy riffs, aggressive live shows and socially aware lyrics. The band broke through with songs such as “What A Day” from Statement and became a regular presence on tours and festivals including Ozzfest and Rock On The Range, sharing stages with Sevendust, Disturbed and Stone Sour. Their cover of Phil Collins‘s “In The Air Tonight”, later featured in the film Miami Vice, remains one of the band’s best-known recordings.

Norwegian progressive metal band Enslaved have released “Spirit Helper,” a deeply personal and cross-cultural collaboration with Kevin Kicking Woman, a tribal elder of the Blackfeet/Cree Nation in Montana.

Kevin Kicking Woman comments: “Songs are the Blackfoot way of knowing. Expressing relationship and responsibility, belonging and accountability. The purpose of this song is having the performative expression giving meaning to life. Connecting to the universes through the cosmos, earth beings, water beings and spirit beings. Spirit helper is the physical documentation in this process.”

Enslaved founding guitarist Ivar Bjørnson traces the origins of the collaboration back to 2019 in Colorado, where connections formed through the band’s extended musical community — including shared ties with Wardruna, their management, and the community surrounding the Fire in the Mountains festival on Blackfeet land in Montana — gradually led them toward the Blackfeet Nation. “What initially began as conversations around performances and artistic collaboration slowly evolved into something much deeper: an exchange of perspectives, histories, and spiritual traditions shaped by many people along the way,” he says.

Those connections deepened through By Norse Music — the label and artistic platform co-founded by members of Enslaved and Wardruna, together with manager Simon Füllemann — and came into sharper focus when Fire in the Mountains returned in 2025 to East Glacier, Mont. “We were welcomed into conversations and ceremonies that left a profound impact on us,” Bjørnson says. It was there that he met Nick Rink of the Blackfeet Nation, who later introduced him to Kevin Kicking Woman.

The pivotal moment arrived during a later gathering in New York, attended by representatives from the Blackfeet community, Fire in the Mountains, the Firekeeper Alliance, and Enslaved. There, Kevin Kicking Woman shared a traditional morning prayer song — a deeply personal and spiritual piece that he entrusted to Bjørnson and the band as the foundation for a new composition. “I immediately recognized the responsibility carried within that gesture,” Bjørnson says. “Rather than simply building around Kevin’s contribution, it became important for me to allow the music itself to adapt to the pulse, rhythm, and spirit already present within his song.” Over the following months, the two worked to find a musical language where their respective traditions could coexist — allowing Enslaved to remain fully itself while honoring the emotional core of Kevin’s prayer.

“For us, the song represents far more than a collaboration between artists from different backgrounds,” Bjørnson reflects. “It reflects what can happen when people meet openly, listen carefully, and allow themselves to be changed by the encounter. The generosity, trust, and wisdom shared with us by Kevin Kicking Woman, Nick Rink, the Blackfeet community, Fire in the Mountains, the Firekeeper Alliance, and everyone who helped shape this journey are things we carry with deep gratitude. Ultimately, ‘Spirit Helper’ is a song about connection — between past and present, traditions and people, and the spiritual and human worlds. For Enslaved, it stands as one of the most meaningful musical journeys we have undertaken.”

The artwork for “Spirit Helper” was created by Nicholas Rink, who describes it as a visual meditation on the forces behind the collaboration: a light blue wave at the bottom representing “the background vibration of existence connecting us all”; a red line representing shared humanity; a yellow spiral representing the song itself moving through all of those elements; and a black circle with a lightning bolt representing Kevin Kicking Woman’s singing and its spiritual power. The work is rendered on an old map of Norway, a nod to the importance of land in shaping human experience, with the rainbow of triangles paying homage to Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon.

Enslaved will return to Fire in the Mountains later this month to perform. Founded in 1991 by Bjørnson and vocalist Grutle Kjellson, the Bergen-based band released their debut demo “Yggdrasill” in 1992, the mini-album Hordanes Land in 1993, and their debut full-length, Vikingligr Veldi, in 1994. Over the three decades since, they have become one of Norway’s most celebrated and internationally recognized bands, widely known for their fusion of black metal and progressive rock.

Enslaved is Ivar Bjørnson on guitar, Grutle Kjellson on vocals, Arve “Ice Dale” Isdal on guitar, Håkon Vinje on keyboards and clean vocals, and Iver Sandøy on drums.

The Night Eternal has announced that their Metal Blade Records debut, Cold Velvet, will arrive on August 21 and has released a new single and video for “Caught in a Spell.”

Of the track, the band says: “‘Caught in a Spell’ delivers the perfect heavy metal soundtrack for a night drive. Driven by a hypnotic groove and a powerful sing-along chorus, the song evokes images of endless highways and a restless sense of wanderlust, pulling the listener towards the unknown. Director Robert Piel underlines this atmosphere with a striking video clip, following a Harley-Davidson–riding knight through a cinematic road-movie journey.”

Founded in 2018, the German melancholic heavy metal band has steadily built a reputation through their previous albums — Moonlit Cross (2021) and Fatale (2023) — earning support slots with Blind Guardian, the Michael Schenker Group, Angel Witch, and Lucifer, along with festival appearances at Wacken, Summer Breeze, Hellfest, and Alcatraz throughout Europe, as well as a spot at Hell’s Heroes in Houston, Texas.

With Cold Velvet, The Night Eternal has deepened their signature blend of darkness, dreamlike atmosphere, and deep melancholy within a framework of driving heavy metal. Hypnotic rhythms, mesmeric guitar riffs, and anthemic choruses propel the record’s eight tracks, which the band describes as weaving “a trance-like state” for the listener.

Cold Velvet was recorded between May and December 2025 at Church of Sound Studios in the greater Munich area. Production, recording, and mixing were handled by Michael Zech — guitarist of black metal act Secrets of the Moon and a producer with credits that include Sulphur Aeon, Triptykon, and The Ruins of Beverast.

The Night Eternal currently appears on the cover of Deaf Forever magazine, which awarded Cold Velvet the #1 slot in their Soundcheck. Writes the publication: “Incredible — where is this band heading next? To the very top, of course. And it would take the devil himself to prevent Cold Velvet from finally catapulting The Night Eternal to the pinnacle of the European scene. Catchier yet even more mystical than before, the German band throws their entire talent into the ring across eight tracks, leaving behind everything else attempting to navigate the dynamic interplay of goth rock, gritty heavy metal, and anthemic hard rock.”

The record has also drawn praise from several respected voices in the metal community. Brit Floyd — described by Rolling Stone as “widely recognized as the world’s premiere Pink Floyd experience” — has announced that legendary Pink Floyd vocalist Machan “Margaret” Taylor will join the band as a special guest for select dates on their ongoing “The Moon, The Wall and Beyond” 2026 North American tour, beginning July 10 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The group will also welcome saxophone sensation Scott Page — known for his work with Pink Floyd, Toto, and Supertramp — for two shows: July 10 in Los Angeles and July 11 in San Diego.

Nearly four decades after performing with Pink Floyd on the A Momentary Lapse of Reason and Delicate Sound of Thunder tours, Machan Taylor — credited as Margret Taylor during her time with the band — is rejoining Brit Floyd to reprise some of her most celebrated performances. She is also the author of the new memoir Naked Out Loud, which traces her journey from her childhood in Japan and New Jersey to singing alongside Pink Floyd on two of the band’s landmark world tours.

“We are incredibly honored to welcome Machan Taylor back to the Brit Floyd tour this summer,” said Andy Robbins, CEO of Palladium Entertainment and producer of Brit Floyd’s world tours. “Her voice helped define some of Pink Floyd’s greatest live moments and having her share the stage with us is a real privilege. We know fans will be thrilled to experience the magic she brings to these songs.”

The “The Moon, The Wall and Beyond” tour, produced by Palladium Entertainment, celebrates 15 years of Brit Floyd — founded in 2011 — and stands as the group’s most ambitious production to date. The concept spotlights two of Pink Floyd’s most iconic and best-selling albums: The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall. Setlists feature “Time,” “Money,” “Comfortably Numb,” and “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2,” alongside selections from Wish You Were Here, Animals, and other fan favorites. On select nights, fully dedicated thematic performances for each album will create two distinct concert experiences within the same tour.

The run is part of a larger 123-date North American tour. Brit Floyd will also team up with Get the Led Out — a tribute to Led Zeppelin — for two special collaborative engagements: Aug. 1 at the Broadview Stage at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Aug. 8 at Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Conn.

Founded in 2011, Brit Floyd has performed more than 1,600 shows worldwide. Over the years, the group has shared the stage with several alumni of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters’ touring ensembles, including Guy Pratt, Scott Page, Durga McBroom, Roberta Freeman, Machan Taylor, Harry Waters, and Graham Broad. In 2025, Brit Floyd collaborated with legendary producer and engineer Alan Parsons for a run of shows across California and Nevada, drawing nearly 20,000 fans.

Iron Maiden has announced new filming plans for their forthcoming cinematic tour documentary, confirming the project will be completed at Eddfest — their 50th anniversary celebration at Knebworth — on July 11, following a power outage that cut their June 22 concert at La Défense Arena in Paris dramatically short.

The Paris show, part of the band’s current “Run For Your Lives” world tour, had been playing to more than 30,000 fans in the middle of a ferocious heatwave — with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees — when a total power cut struck the building approximately 50 minutes in, toward the end of “Two Minutes to Midnight,” plunging the entire stadium into silence and darkness.

Full power was eventually restored, and the band retook the stage roughly an hour later. Local police granted a curfew extension to 11:35 PM — but no further, as Paris public transit closes shortly thereafter and officials did not want more than 30,000 fans stranded in the city’s streets in the extreme heat. In the time remaining, Iron Maiden was able to complete their main set, closing with “Iron Maiden,” though the three planned encores — “Aces High,” “Fear of the Dark,” and “Wasted Years” — were not performed.

Steve Harris addressed the situation in an official statement: “You all know what happened in Paris, we all know what happened in Paris, so we’re gonna finish it off at Knebworth, and we’ll see you there.”

Bruce Dickinson added: “We’re not going to lose what we did in Paris but we’re going to add to it with some amazing stuff from Knebworth. So Knebworth, be on ya best behavior!!”

With fans from both the Paris concert and Eddfest now set to be part of the finished film, the decision means the “Run For Your Lives” production — currently halfway through its world tour run — will receive a proper cinematic conclusion at one of the most storied venues in rock history.

Eddfest will also feature Iron Maiden’s “Infinite Dreams” museum experience, bringing to life the band’s pictorial book of the same name with more than 50 items spanning nearly 50 years of history. Among the artifacts on display: the iconic pharaoh’s head from the World Slavery tour, Eddie’s ray-gun from the 1986 Somewhere on Tour, the electric chair from the The X Factor era, the tank commander Eddie from the A Matter of Life and Death tour, the baphomet from The Number of the Beast, the Phantom of the Opera organ from the Maiden England tour, and personal mementoes from the late Paul Di’Anno onward.

Longtime Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood said: “We’ve raided Eddie’s archive, Steve’s garden and our very own offices, warehouses and homes to bring you some actual pieces of our history! More than 50 items from almost 50 years of history will be on display for tens of thousands of you to see. Try to be there early, because sadly there likely won’t be time for every one of you to take everything in, especially as we have so many other exciting things happening on site. This weekend is for you, our fans. We are trying to do something special and a bit different in celebration of 50 years — a full-on MAIDEN experience from the moment you arrive on site to the minute you leave.”

The festival’s “Maidenville” on-site village will be open to campers throughout the weekend. Friday’s entertainment includes live performances from former Iron Maiden vocalist Blaze Bayley and Gypsy’s Kiss, as well as Eddie’s Dive Bar, the Unfair Funfair with Eddie-themed rides and games, and Eddie’s Emporium. Canadian rock icons Rush have postponed their June 30 and July 2 performances at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, after bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee was diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis.

The July 2 concert had already been rescheduled once. It was originally set for June 24 before production delays related to travel and border issues forced the band to move the date.

In a statement shared on social media on Tuesday, June 30, Rush explained the situation to fans.

“To our fans, we are deeply sorry to share that we must postpone our June 30 and July 2 shows.

“Geddy has been diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis. After being evaluated by his doctors, he has been advised that he needs additional time to rest and recover before returning to the stage.

“This is incredibly disappointing for all of us. We know many of you have made travel plans and have been counting down the days to these shows.

“Please know this decision was not made lightly. After more than 50 years of touring, we’ve always believed that if we’re going to step on stage, we owe you the very best performance we can give — and right now, that simply isn’t possible.

“We’re grateful to everyone involved for helping us quickly find new dates to celebrate together.

“The Sunday June 30 show has been rescheduled for Saturday July 11.

“The Thursday July 2 show has been rescheduled for Monday July 13.

“All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates.

“If you are unable to attend, refund information will be available from your original point of purchase.

“Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for always standing with us. We look forward to seeing you in just a couple of weeks and appreciate your continued support while Geddy makes a full recovery.”

The band’s June 26 and June 28 performances at Dickies Arena marked Rush‘s first concerts in North Texas since the R40 tour stopped at the American Airlines Center in 2015.

The current Fifty Something tour features Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson, joined by drummer Anika Nilles, who toured with Jeff Beck in 2022, and keyboardist Loren Gold, known for his work as a touring musician with The Who and Chicago.

Each night, the band draws from a rotating selection of nearly 40 Rush classics across two sets, with the performances serving as a tribute to the life and legacy of late drummer Neil Peart.

The 2026 North American run was originally announced with 22 dates across Canada, the United States and Mexico. Strong demand quickly sold out those shows, leading to additional dates. The tour has since expanded to 58 concerts in 24 cities, with more than 500,000 tickets sold.

Hollywood Vampires — the supergroup featuring Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen — will release a new live album, At Montreux Jazz Festival. The recording captures the band’s 2018 appearance at the renowned Swiss festival and will arrive digitally on August 7, followed by CD and vinyl editions on October 16 through earMUSIC.

Among the highlights of the release are several cover songs that Hollywood Vampires had never officially released before, including a version of Motörhead‘s “Ace Of Spades”, performed as a tribute to the late Lemmy.

To preview the album, the band has made “Raise The Dead” available along with a live performance video showcasing the energy of the Montreux show.

The concert documents a night dedicated to the history of rock, with Hollywood Vampires paying tribute to influential artists through a performance built on powerful musicianship and the chemistry between its members.

When the band took the stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2018, it brought its mix of theatrical rock, classic songs and tributes to fallen musical heroes to one of the world’s most respected festivals. The performance celebrated not only the music itself but also the friendships, excesses and legacy that continue to define rock culture.
