  • ERIC JOHNSON Shares Dates For 2026 UK “Texaphonic Tour”

Legendary Grammy-nominated Texas guitarist Eric Johnson is pleased to announce an 11-date UK tour in July and August 2026.

One of the most outstanding instrumentalists in rock over the past 40 years, Texas guitarist Eric Johnson was already a legend before he recorded his first album. By the early 1980s, many celebrated guitarists were singing the praises of this skinny kid from Austin with the mind-melting chops. Comparisons were made to such guitar heroes as Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix and when he joined the ‘70s Austin fusion band Electromagnets they were being hailed as “the Mahavishnu Orchestra of Texas”.

With the release of his highly anticipated 1986 solo debut album Tones, the underground guitar legend finally emerged onto the scene fully formed. It landed him on the cover of Guitar Player magazine, which hailed the album as a “majestic debut”, and earned him his first Grammy nomination for the song “Zap”. With the release of his follow up album, 1990’s platinum-selling Ah Via Musicom, which contained the Grammy Award winning song “Cliffs of Dover”, Eric Johnson became a bona fide international guitar phenomenon.

Since 1986 Eric has released seventeen albums, in addition to albums with other artists such as Eclectic with jazz guitarist Mike Stern, and the platinum-selling G3 Live with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Eric has received eight Grammy nominations along with numerous other recognitions, awards and wins in various polls and magazines.

2023 found Eric on his Treasure Tour, 67 US dates that were split between a Spring and a Fall tour. In January and February 2024 Eric joined the G3 Reunion Tour with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, and the resulting live album from the tour was released in January 2025. In August 2024 he made a short run of dates in the north and northeast including the Backroads Blues Festival in New York.

In September and October 2024 Eric was a featured performer on the Experience Hendrix 2024 Tour, crossing the country from Washington state to Florida, and then rejoined in March and April 2025 for the ‘Experience Hendrix 2025 Tour’ throughout the east and northeast USA and Canada. September and October 2025 saw the first dates of his Texaphonic tour, from New Orleans to New York, featuring a set of new blues rock power trio material.

In December 2025 Eric joined the Allman-Betts Band for a series of shows as a special guest, duetting with Devon Allman and Duane Betts. The Texaphonic tour continues in the USA from April through May 2026 from Florida to California, including a headlining appearance at the Austin Blues Festival. In late June Eric returns to Europe for the first time in over a decade and brings the Texaphonic tour to Europe and the UK, finishing up in Scotland by mid-August at ‘Guitar Dreams’ with Mike Stern and others before returning to Austin for a special event with Tommy Emmanuel.

Over the course of more than four decades, Eric Johnson has been traveling on a prolific odyssey. Along the way, his creations have cross-pollinated the various musical genres which include rock, blues, jazz, fusion, soul, folk, new-age, classical, and even country. Inevitably EJ says it best himself in sharing that regardless of the genre “It really boils down to the music and the song at the end of the day”, he explains. “The most important thing for me is to grow musically and make a more expansive and meaningful artistic statement with every new project”.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Wednesday February 4th here and here.

  • MAYHEM Drops New Video For Single “Realm Of Endless Misery” From Upcoming Album “Liturgy Of Death”

Black metal’s most influential and legacy-defining entity emerges once again with Mayhem’s seventh studio album Liturgy of Death.

With this release, Mayhem reaffirm why they remain one of the most relentless pillars of extreme music. After more than four decades shaping the genre’s evolution, the band now turns its creative gaze toward the inescapable presence of mortality.

Liturgy of Death explores the philosophy of mortality with stark, uncompromising clarity. The album presents death not as an ending, but as a universal law that touches all life and exposes the fragility of human existence. This impermanence becomes a call to live with full intensity, for every gain and loss ultimately falls back into the same silence. Echoing ancient philosophies, the album portrays life as a transitional state and death as a gateway to a higher form of being, while the solemn, dark beauty of death permeates the entire work.

Attila comments on the new track: “‘Realm of Endless Misery’ is the fourth single from the new Mayhem album and presents a state of human existence in which suffering is not an exception but a governing principle. The song portrays human life as a closed realm sustained by repetition, fear, and manipulation, where time itself becomes a mental trap and hope slowly drains from consciousness. It does not tell a story and offers no redemption. Through its mantra-like structure and cold, oppressive imagery, the track confronts the listener with the mechanics of misery, revealing a world in which destruction is not an endpoint but a permanent condition. Released as the third single in advance of the whole album, ‘Realm of Endless Misery’ deepens its unified dark vision and brings the listener one step closer to the final revelation.”

Liturgy Of Death comes out this Friday, February 6th, and will be exclusively available as:

    • Ltd. Deluxe Box Set incl. an exclusive 12″ Clear-Black Marbled Vinyl with alternate artwork, bonus 7″ Marbled Vinyl with 2 extra tracks, metal pin, patch, art prints, and the special tarot card Liturgy of Death (Clear-Black Marbled Edition and Transp. Red-Black Marbled Band Edition)

  • SYLOSIS Drops Music Video For “Lacerations” Taken From Forthcoming Album “The New Flesh”

Sylosis have revealed the third single from their fiercely anticipated record, The New Flesh, due to drop on February 20th via Nuclear Blast Records. The New Flesh is being hailed as a towering testament to destructive riffing, incisive melody and refined brute force.

Today’s new single, the psychological heavy-hitter “Lacerations”, showcases Sylosis at a career apex – stacked with anthemic hooks, razor sharp, and heavy-as-hell. The track encapsulates brutality and catchiness in perfect symbiosis.

Josh Middleton stated: “”Lacerations” has become a firm favorite amongst those that have heard the new record. After this song came together during the early stages of writing, I felt a huge sense of relief knowing that we had achieved our best song to date. I couldn’t get the chorus out of my head and that’s usually a good sign. Once we had this song under our belts we knew this album would a big step up in terms of our writing abilities.

Musically it calls back to some of the darker melancholic sounds from Edge of the Earth or even The Supreme Oppressor but with a ton of heavy riffs in there. Lyrically, this song is about facing your own mortality and health anxiety. I think a lot of people can relate to spiralling out of control when they think something’s wrong and how differently you look at your life, and what matters most when confronted with those intrusive thoughts.”

The New Flesh is available to pre-order in the following physical formats:

    • CD Jewelcase
    • Solid Red Vinyl (All Retail)
    • Sky Blue with Black Splatter Vinyl (NB/Band Variant)
    • Red and Sky Blue Corona with Vinyl (Band Exclusive)

Sylosis will also be hosting an Album Release Party Event on February 20th from 12-3.30pm, at The Black Heart in Camden, London. The free-entry event will include an album signing session, a full-band Q&A, a merch pop-up, and food and drink specials. Tickets are on-sale now.

  • ROCK ’N’ ROLL FANTASY CAMP Celebrates 30 Years

For three decades, Rock ’N’ Roll Fantasy Camp has built a reputation few music experiences can match. For 30 years, Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp has done something no one thought possible — bringing everyday musicians into rehearsal rooms, studios, and onto stages with the greatest rock legends of all time.

Founded by music industry veteran David Fishof, the camp evolved into a global destination for fans who want more than a meet-and-greet. It connects musicians of all backgrounds with artists they grew up listening to, creating an immersive experience that blurs the line between fan and performer. As the camp enters its 30th anniversary, it does so with one of the strongest lineups it has ever assembled.

The 2026 camp feature high-profile headliners, including Roger Daltrey (The Who), Stewart Copeland (The Police), and Tommy Lee (Mötley Crüe). Together, these artists represent three of the most influential bands in rock history, making this anniversary year a standout moment for the camp. Full dates and additional talent details are available here.

Over the years, Rock ’N’ Roll Fantasy Camp has drawn participants far beyond the typical music scene. Past campers have included coach John Benton of the Seattle Seahawks, a former lieutenant governor of Kentucky, and professionals ranging from college professors to doctors, lawyers, engineers, and tech innovators. One of the most notable participants is Ed Oates, co-founder of Oracle, highlighting how the camp appeals to high-level thinkers and creators across industries.

In recent years, the camp has also become known for its inclusive environment. More than 40% of Rock Camp participants today are women, many of whom arrive as highly skilled musicians. In an industry historically dominated by men, the camp has become a space where women collaborate, perform, and share the stage with major artists. The program also offers “Women’s Only” camp, along with dedicated songwriting-focused sessions.

The impact extends to the artists themselves. The late Jeff Beck once called the camp “the best way to give back” after everything music had given him. Roger Daltrey says in the documentary “Rock Camp” that the experience reminds him of what it felt like when he was just starting out. Kiss bassist Gene Simmons has said he wishes Rock ’N’ Roll Fantasy Camp had existed when he was younger so artists could learn directly from the legends.

Rock Camp’s reach has carried into mainstream pop culture, with appearances and coverage across “The Simpsons”, “Billions”, “Saturday Night Live”, “The Today Show”, and “Pawn Stars”.

The documentary Rock Camp is currently available for free on Amazon, YouTube, and all major streaming platforms. The “Rock Camp” podcast continues to share stories from both artists and campers, offering a deeper look into what happens behind the scenes.

Reflecting on the milestone, founder David Fishof said: “For 30 years, Rock Camp has been about one thing — changing lives through music. We’ve watched people rediscover their passion, gain confidence, and fulfill dreams they never thought possible. And we’ve seen the artists experience the same joy by giving back.”

Fishof added: “What’s always amazed me is the caliber of people who walk through our doors, we’ve had government leaders, professors, doctors, tech pioneers — and an incredible number of women musicians who absolutely crush it. Rock Camp proves that music isn’t about age, gender, or profession. It’s about passion.”

As Rock ’N’ Roll Fantasy Camp marks its 30th year, its purpose remains unchanged: no competition, no judgment — just music, connection, and a rare chance to experience rock from the inside.

  • VAN HALEN Announces Expanded 40th Anniversary Reissue Of “5150”

March 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of 5150, the first of four albums Van Halen recorded with Sammy Hagar. To commemorate the milestone, Rhino is set to release an expanded edition on March 27 that digs deeper into one of the most important eras in the band’s history.

The release includes a newly remastered version of the original album, a full disc of rare singles edits and B-sides, and a live performance that has never been officially issued. That concert was recorded on August 27, 1986, in New Haven, Connecticut, during the tour supporting the album. The set also features a Blu-ray containing the first high-definition release of the band’s 1986 live video Live Without A Net, along with a promotional video for the track “Dreams”.

A live version of “Summer Nights” taken from Van Halen’s New Haven performance has also surfaced ahead of the release.

The 3CD/Blu-ray/LP configuration of 5150 (Expanded Edition) brings together several key pieces from the period. It includes the remastered studio album, overseen in 2023 by longtime Van Halen engineer Donn Landee for The Collection II box set, a disc compiling rare non-LP edits and mixes, and the full audio from the Live Without A Net home video. The New Haven show, recorded at the New Haven Veteran Memorial Coliseum, has been newly remastered in HD and appears on Blu-ray alongside two music videos.

Originally released in 1986, 5150 became Van Halen’s seventh studio album and the band’s first to reach number one on the Billboard 200. The record has since earned six-times-platinum certification in the United States and delivered several of the group’s best-known songs, including “Dreams”, “Love Walks In”, and “Why Can’t This Be Love”, which climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The album’s title has its own history. 5150 was named after the California police term for a mentally unstable person, taken from section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code. The name also refers to guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s home studio, where the band worked on the album and helped shape a defining chapter of their catalog.

You can now pre-order 5150 (Expanded Edition) here.
