I was already obsessed with ‘Halloween’ and ‘Friday the 13th’, but ‘Scream’ was the first I saw in theatres. Hearing the killer talk about horror movies, in that distinctively pop-culture savvy Kevin Williamson way, blew my mind.”

“In recent years, we’ve gotten to know and work with Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, Jamie Kennedy, Lee Waddell, and others in different capacities. We announced the collaboration with ‘Scream 7’ at Wembley Arena, with Ghostface and Rose McGowan, which was surreal in itself.”

The accompanying music video continues Ice Nine Kills‘ signature horror-cinema homage, blending performance with a post-video narrative short that continues the ever-expanding INKverse lore. The voice of Ghostface himself, Roger L. Jackson, reprises his iconic role. The story picks up directly from 2025’s “The Laugh Track”, which saw Matthew Lillard playing himself. This instalment escalates the meta-horror further, with David Arquette (as himself), alongside Johnny Brennan, creator of “The Jerky Boys”, as Francis Rizzowitz.

“Twisting The Knife” was first teased during Ice Nine Kills‘ massive headlining show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley, where the band staged the onstage “death” of “Scream” star Rose McGowan, followed by an onstage video call from Ghostface. Limited Edition Collectibles

In tribute to one of the greatest voices of all time, German studio specialist Neumann is partnering with the Bon Scott estate on a limited-edition signature product to be released on Bon’s 80th birthday.

The Perth Mint, following up on the 2024 sold-out 1oz silver proof coin, will issue limited collector’s edition 1oz silver and 1oz gold bars bearing Bon’s name and likeness.

Reg Mombassa, the legendary graphic artist (as well as founding member of fellow Australian rock icons Mental As Anything) has designed an exclusive artwork to commemorate the birthday that will be available on posters, t-shirts, and more.

Knucklebonz, the leaders in collectible rock and roll statues, will issue their third Bon Scott edition in 2026, based on iconic images from the 1978 Powerage tour. This follows the sold-out 1979 “Highway To Hell” edition and the 1976 “It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock N Roll)” statue (complete with bagpipes!).

Apparel Collaborations

Although Bon was often spotted performing sans shirts, various apparel partnerships have been embraced by fans to display their love for the iconic frontman. Dixxon Flannel Co. will launch the second limited-edition Bon Scott shirt in “Heritage” Tartan, following the 2025 “Touring” Tartan shirt. Copa Football Jerseys will launch a collectible “Bon 80” football jersey, also in Heritage Tartan. YouTube Channel

The Estate has struck a deal with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) to provide Bon Scott video content to his official YouTube channel. This follows the ABC’s highly rated 2023 episode of Australian Story, introduced by Brian Johnson, and featuring the only interview ever given by Bon’s brother Derek Scott.

Additionally, the YouTube channel will post exclusive interviews with Bon’s friends, peers, and admirers like Rick Springfield, Bruce Howe (Fraternity), Sammy Hagar, and Scott Ian (Anthrax), who have all recently sat on camera to discuss their memories and why Bon remains a touchstone 46 years after his passing.

Tribute Events

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2026, Bonfest The International Bon Scott Rock Festival, will take place in Kirriemuir, Scotland, on May 1-3, 2026. The sold-out festival presented by Kirriemuir youth charity DD8 Music has an amazing lineup of rock and roll bands and AC/DC tribute acts, ensuring a weekend to properly celebrate Bon’s 80th. 2026 guests include UK rock legends Reef and former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade. There will also be a bespoke pop-up Bon Scott merch store at the site of the original Scott family bakery at 19 Bank Street in Kirriemuir.

Bon’s 80th birthday will be celebrated with the third annual Bon’s Birthday Bash in NYC on Monday, July 6th. Past celebrations have included guest vocal performances by Corey Glover (Living Colour), Jimmy Kunes (Cactus, Humble Pie), Peter Shaw (Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Tony Award-winner Lena Hall (Headwig and the Angry Inch), and many more of NYC’s finest singers.

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame And Museum will host a one-night-only theatrical screening of the classic concert film Let There Be Rock: The Movie. This will accompany a special limited Bon Scott memorabilia display, celebrating his career.

An Enduring Legacy

46 years after his passing, the music that Bon helped create with AC/DC remains of the utmost cultural relevance. Recent high-profile sync licensing featuring Bon’s voice include the 2025 Tom Holland-starring Lego short film Never Stop Playing that features “T.N.T.” and the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Australian TV spot that playfully recast “It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock N Roll” as the long-running Aussie in-joke “It’s A Long Way To The Shop (If You Want A Sausage Roll)”.

A new feature-length documentary centered on Billy Idol is heading to theaters in the U.S. this February. Titled Billy Idol Should Be Dead, the film was directed by three-time Grammy winner Jonas Åkerlund and produced by Live Nation Studios, with a nationwide theatrical release set for February 26.

Before it opens wide, the documentary will premiere in Los Angeles at the TCL Chinese Theatre on February 23, followed by a New York debut at the Regal Union Square on February 25. Both events will include an acoustic performance from Billy Idol and his longtime guitarist and collaborator Steve Stevens.

The film follows Idol’s path from punk beginnings into full-scale rock stardom, showing the personal cost behind decades in the spotlight. It also focuses on what it took for him to stay standing through everything that came with that life.

Idol had to overcome to not just survive, but to remain one of the most beloved figures in rock n roll, almost fifty years into his career and still selling out arenas around the world.

Billy Idol Should Be Dead traces his story through rare archival footage and new interviews with Idol himself, along with family members, peers, and collaborators. It looks back on his emergence as a defining punk figure, his massive success during the MTV era, and the challenges that followed as his career kept moving forward.

The documentary first screened last summer at the Tribeca Film Festival, then went on to an award-qualifying run. Evan Saxon Productions is handling theatrical distribution in North America, while Fremantle is responsible for release outside the U.S.

The film also features a new original song, “Dying To Live,” written with Academy Award-nominated songwriter J. Ralph. The track has already drawn major attention, recently landing on the shortlist for Best Original Song at the 98th Academy Awards.

The closing sequence of the documentary is built around “Dying To Live,” combining animated and archival visuals from across Idol’s life and career. The song was written by Idol and Ralph alongside Steve Stevens, Tommy English, and Joe Janiak. It has also been nominated for Best Song–Documentary Film at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards, which also recognized Billy Idol Should Be Dead with a nomination for Best Music Documentary–Special Program.

With its theatrical run beginning February 26, the documentary offers a direct look at how Billy Idol made it through decades of highs, crashes, and reinvention while staying a lasting force in rock.

It’s been two years since drum icon Carmine Appice and the revived Cactus first opened the doors to Temple Of Blues — a 15-track blast of heavy blues rock that pulled in a long list of guest players under the subtitle Influences And Friends.

Now the project returns with Temple Of Blues II, bringing another all-star lineup into the mix. Familiar names from the first volume, like Ted Nugent, Billy Sheehan, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Dee Snider, and Pat Travers, connect with a new wave of guests including Steve Morse, Tracii Guns, Joe Lynn Turner, Rudy Sarzo, Alex Skolnick, and more.

The first single from Temple Of Blues II is out now, a fierce two-part take on “Back Door Man” featuring Sheehan, Eric Gales, and Artie Dillon.

Appice spoke about hearing the finished track: “When we finished “Back Door Man” and listened to the whole mix, it blew me away. Billy and Eric are amazing together on top of my drums.”

Often labeled America’s Led Zeppelin, the original Cactus grew out of Appice’s earlier work with Vanilla Fudge and Beck, Bogert & Appice, making their mark quickly after their 1970 self-titled debut. Temple Of Blues II reaches back toward those roots, even revisiting the band’s presence at the Isle Of Wight Festival. One standout moment comes with “Purple Haze,” which reconnects Cactus with Melanie — another favorite from that historic bill — as well as its headliner, Jimi Hendrix.

Appice reflected on Melanie’s unique presence: “Melanie‘s voice was so distinctive in that it could shift seamlessly from sweet to raspy. Her talent was versatile too — she was at home in front of the mic whether it be an anthem or a pop tune. That voice could sound childlike in one moment and full of wisdom and maturity the next. No wonder she and her work are still so beloved.”

The album continues with more guest-driven cuts. Pat Travers returns for “Moanin’ At Midnight.” Joe Lynn Turner teams up with Morse, Tony Franklin, Derek Sherinian, and Appice for “Bad Stuff.” Dee Snider and Tracii Guns take charge on “The Little Red Rooster.” Ted Nugent and Bob Daisley join forces for “Spoonful.”

Across the record, the goal stays the same: heavy blues rock played with grit, groove, and authority, with Carmine Appice’s drumming driving everything forward.

Former Hanoi Rocks frontman Michael Monroe is set to release a new studio album, Outerstellar, on February 20 through Silver Lining Music. The record continues his run of straight-ahead rock with bite, and its third single, “Shinola,” already has an official video directed by Paul M Green.

“Shinola” goes after the kind of person most people have run into at some point — someone morally hollow who drains everyone around them until there’s nobody left. The track comes across as sharp and direct, built to turn frustration into something loud and cathartic.

Monroe explained the song’s roots in his usual blunt way: “”Shinola” was obviously originally written about a certain jerk but unfortunately most of us can relate as we know a lot of them. There’s a lot of negative, ignorant idiots in the world and sometimes it’s good to vent frustrations by singing about it. And karma always gets us in the end anyway!”

To support Outerstellar, Michael Monroe and his band will hit the road for a U.K. co-headline tour with Buckcherry, starting in Southampton on February 24, 2026.

The touring lineup is stacked with familiar names. Bass comes from Sami Yaffa, known for his time in Hanoi Rocks and New York Dolls, and a longtime collaborator with Monroe since the ’80s. Guitar work is handled by Rich Jones, formerly of the Ginger Wildheart band, alongside Steve Conte, who stepped in after Johnny Thunders in New York Dolls and has also played with artists like Suzi Quatro and Eric Burden. Drums come from Karl Rockfist, whose resume includes work with Danzig.

With Outerstellar landing in February and the tour following soon after, Michael Monroe keeps proving that his brand of hard rock still has plenty of fuel left.

Metalcore veterans Poison The Well are officially back with a full-length release. The band will drop Peace In Place, their first new album since 2009, on March 20 through SharpTone Records.

The rollout is already moving fast. The Chris Candy-directed video for the second single, “Everything Hurts,” is out now, giving fans another taste of where the band’s head is at in 2026.

Vocalist Jeffrey Moreira opened up about what it means to return after such a long gap: “Joining Poison The Well at 18 and chasing music shaped how I approach life. Coming back 16 years later — unsure if I could still do what I once left behind — only reinforced how strong our bond is and how much this band has given me. I’m grateful to do this again with my friends, and to share a record made with honesty, intention and connection at its core.”

The first single, previously released, “Thoroughbreds,” set the tone with lyrics centered on loyalty, endurance, and the slow collapse of relationships you once trusted. Moreira explained the track’s meaning directly: “Beasts of burden are hard to break — not because they’re strong, but because they’re stubborn. “Thoroughbreds” is about realizing that some lifelong bonds don’t fail early; they fail after you believed they were there to stay.”

“”Everything Hurts” is about the patience and effort it takes to keep relationships alive,” Moreira said in a statement. “I care deeply about the people in my life, but even the people you love can be frustrating sometimes. And it’s important to remember that we can be just as frustrating to them. We all have our moments — and I have my moments too. The ones that stick around are the ones you have a unique connection with. You can’t put up with everyone’s shit, so the people you keep close are the ones whose shit you actually want to deal with.”

For longtime listeners, Peace In Place also serves as the follow-up to The Tropic Rot, and Moreira describes it as one of the band’s heaviest emotional statements yet: “Peace In Place is probably the most pissed record we’ve ever made. After stepping away from Poison The Well, it felt like all the emotion from that time — frustration, heartache, disappointment — compressed into something heavy and unavoidable. But anger isn’t what drives us. Connection is. Sometimes that connection starts in darker places, and having an outlet for those emotions is how we find our way forward. This record lives across that entire spectrum. It’s about turning something negative into something honest, putting it into the world, and realizing that even in anger, we’re still capable of moving forward, relating to each other, and finding some form of peace — if not happiness, then at least a place to stand.”

With Peace In Place arriving March 20, Poison The Well are stepping back into the scene with a record shaped by time, distance, and the kind of intensity that never really fades.

Sun Dont Shine — the new band featuring members of Type O Negative and Crowbar — is gearing up to release its debut full-length record, Birth To Death, arriving April 1 through Corpse Paint Records. The band brings together a lineup with deep roots in heavy music: Kirk Windstein on guitar and vocals alongside Kenny Hickey on guitar and vocals, Johnny Kelly on drums, and Todd Strange on bass.

The newest single from the album is “Power To Live,” a hard-edged track that looks straight at humanity’s repeated violence while holding onto the basic instinct to survive. The song is already available to stream, and an official video is set to drop February 23 across Vevo/YouTube, Tidal, Apple Music, and Vimeo.

Written by Hickey and Windstein, “Power To Live” was recorded at OCD Studios during summer 2025. Production came from Duane Simoneaux, with Vinnie LaBella as co-producer and Andrew Spaulding handling executive production.

The song itself started with a discussion about its cover art. Hickey pointed out how grim it is that people still haven’t moved beyond killing each other, and that thought became the foundation of the track — a clear-eyed look at history repeating itself, paired with a refusal to give in.

“The track is a challenge to the times we’re living in,” Sun Dont Shine explains, “an insistence on survival and consciousness in the face of cycles that refuse to break.”

For the artwork, Sun Dont Shine worked with visual artist Nadiya Vizier, known for collaborations with Crowbar and Sailor Bob tattoo. Alongside the single, they’re also offering a limited art bundle tied directly to the release. The run includes 100 hand-signed posters, custom sticker sheets, and 10 ultra-limited trucker caps featuring Vizier’s original design. Everything was made specifically around “Power To Live,” and once these are gone, they won’t be reissued.

Musically, “Power To Live” sits right in the band’s lane: heavy riffs mixed with atmosphere, a balance of weight and space. Windstein’s crushing tone locks in with Hickey’s hooks, while Kelly’s drumming and Strange’s bass work give the track its drive and depth. The result sounds raw, lived-in, and built by musicians who know how to make heaviness hit harder through restraint.

The upcoming video, directed by Mike Holderbeast, carries those themes into unsettling visuals rather than a straightforward storyline. It focuses on mood, tension, and emotion, matching the band’s approach of keeping things honest instead of overly polished.

Japanese power metal firestarters Lovebites are stepping into a new chapter, officially joining forces with Austrian heavy metal powerhouse Napalm Records. Following, Lovebites channel some classic genre imagery by dedicating “Phoenix Rises Again” to the mighty mythical creature with regenerative powers, a symbol to outlast and overcome struggles. “Out Of Control” is a true rock hymn, perfectly matching its successor “Wheels On Fire” in its heavy metal vibe. A suspenseful riff builds up tension for “The Eve Of Change”, reminding listeners to raise their voices and stand up for themselves — this is the call! With “Reaper’s Lullaby”, the Japanese five-piece ventures into rougher territory, adding gang shouts to a thrash-reminiscent sound.

Exodus have unleashed the colossal title track from their new album, Goliath, out March 20, 2026, via Napalm Records. Revealed today with an accompanying music video, “Goliath” simmers the tempo down with winding, malevolent leads, towering drums, and ominous string work from violinist Katie Jacoby, coupled with intricate guitars by the legendary Gary Holt.
 
Even over 40 years after their debut, Exodus are steadfast in their refusal to settle for the safety of mediocrity and continue to forge their trademark just as resolutely as they did in their inception. The band’s highly anticipated 12th studio album is their most multifaceted offering so far, featuring several epic collaborations and marking the return of Rob Dukes as lead vocalist.
