  • Joanne Shaw Taylor unveils “Tired of Being Right”

Joanne Shaw Taylor has released her new single, “Tired Of Being Right,” along with an official music video via Journeyman Records. The track is the latest preview from her forthcoming album, The Trouble With Love, which is scheduled for release on October 23.

The song explores the difficult realization that love alone cannot change someone who is unwilling to change themselves. Opening with a restrained and atmospheric introduction, “Tired Of Being Right” gradually builds into a slow-burning blues-rock ballad centered on heartbreak, acceptance, and moving on.

“A very personal song for me,” Taylor said. “A song about always holding out hope that the one you love might finally step up but sadly sometimes you have to give yourself clarity and permission to leave. Sometimes people will never change no matter how long you invest in them.”

The accompanying music video follows a couple struggling to let go of a failing relationship, reflecting the emotional themes found throughout the song. Interwoven with performance footage, the video mirrors the tension between love, disappointment, and acceptance that drives the track.

“Tired Of Being Right” is the fifth song released from The Trouble With Love, following the title track featuring Joe Bonamassa, “What Good Is My Love?” featuring Orianthi, “Hell Or High Water,” and “This Is Who I Am.” Produced by Kevin Shirley, the album examines the many forms of love, from passion and devotion to heartbreak and self-discovery.

  • Taylor Swift Says “Sombr Is The Future,” Quotes Yellowstone At Songwriters Hall Of Fame Induction

It’s not like Taylor Swift ever disappears for any extended stretch of time, but pop music’s reigning superstar has been especially active for the past week. Last Friday, she released her Toy Story 5 soundtrack song “I Knew It, I Knew You.” On Tuesday, she performed that song and sang with Randy Newman at the film’s premiere. On Wednesday, she sat courtside at Game 4 of the NBA Finals with two Haim sisters and Detective Olivia Benson, all of them rocking matching novelty shirts. And on Thursday night, Swift became the youngest woman ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

  • Jeff Beck Biography announced

Da Capo Publishing has announced the release of Blow by Blow: The Jeff Beck Story, a new biography by Brad Tolinski and Chris Gill that offers an in-depth look at the life and career of legendary guitarist Jeff Beck.

Drawing on more than 30 hours of original interviews with Beck, along with extensive conversations with friends, collaborators, and industry figures including Jimmy Page, Johnny Depp, Clive Davis, and others, the book aims to provide the most complete portrait yet of one of rock’s most influential and enigmatic guitarists.

The new biography follows Tolinski and Gill’s bestselling Eruption: Conversations with Eddie Van Halen and explores Beck’s remarkable musical journey, from his groundbreaking work with The Yardbirds and collaborations with Rod Stewart to his genre-defying solo career.

The book revisits several pivotal moments throughout Beck’s life and career, including opportunities that could have dramatically altered his path. Among them were an invitation to join The Rolling Stones, a brief period with Elton John’s band before he chose to move on, and his connection to the longstanding controversy surrounding Stevie Wonder’s classic song “Superstition.” The biography also chronicles the creation and success of Beck’s landmark 1975 album Blow by Blow, which became the biggest commercial success of his career.

Beyond the music, Blow by Blow: The Jeff Beck Story examines the intensely private man behind the guitar. Through new reporting and firsthand accounts, Tolinski and Gill explore Beck’s fiercely independent nature, relentless creativity, and instinct-driven approach to both music and life. The book also details Beck’s unexpected friendship with Johnny Depp during his later years and sheds light on the circumstances surrounding his final days.

The release arrives alongside significant milestones in Beck’s catalog, including the 60th anniversary of The Yardbirds’ Roger the Engineer and the 50th anniversary of Beck’s Wired.

To celebrate the publication of the book, an all-star tribute concert, live interview, and book signing featuring the authors will take place July 16 at The Cutting Room in New York City. Author Brad Tolinski will also participate in a book signing and Q&A event on July 23 at Book Soup in West Hollywood, California.

Blow by Blow: The Jeff Beck Story is available now through Da Capo Publishing.
