Journey’s farewell tour kicked off in February in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and it’ll keep going for at least the next three months, without an officially announced end in sight. Before the tour started, fans weren’t even sure who would along for the trek. Founding guitarist Neal Schon and longtime keyboardist Jonathan Cain famously don’t get along, to the point where they were recently suing each other. Singer Arnel Pineda is facing domestic violence charges in Philippines, his homeland. Neither Cain nor Pineda joined the band for pre-tour appearances. Now that the tour is finally underway, both Cain and Pineda are on it. But based on what Pineda says in a recent interview, he’s not there by choice.

Gibson Gives and FirstBank Amphitheater Music Education Program Raises Over $216,000 for Williamson County Students with Star-studded Auction

 

Gibson Gives the non-profit division of the legendary music brand Gibson, is honored to partner once again with FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, TN to raise funds to support Williamson County Public Schools and music education initiatives. This year, Gibson Gives and FirstBank Amphitheater brought their selection of guitars and instruments signed by Alice Cooper, Brantley Gilbert, James Taylor, Willie Nelson, Cody Jinks, Collective Soul, Daughtry, The Doobie Brothers, Halestorm, Judas Priest, Rise Against, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and many more.

The online sale, hosted by Julien’s Auctions on March 5, marked the fifth consecutive auction in this collaboration and brought the five‑year cumulative total to more than $216,000 raised for the Gibson Gives and FirstBank Amphitheater Music Education Program–pushing the multi-year partnership past a significant milestone in support of music education–which benefits students across Williamson County, Tennessee.

Converting star power into tangible classroom resources for the next generation, the Gibson Gives and FirstBank Amphitheater auction featured nearly two dozen guitars signed by celebrated artists and bands. Every winning bid funded instruments, teacher support, and music programming across Williamson County Schools, and each instrument sold represented a direct investment in classrooms—from acoustic workhorses to iconic electrics. Funds raised will be used to purchase varied instruments, support teacher training, and expand in‑school and after‑school music programs.

“Through our partnership with FirstBank Amphitheater, we are proud to amplify the power of music for the next generation,” says Erica Krusen, Global Executive Director of Gibson Gives. “We believe deeply in supporting music education, and this annual investment strengthens Williamson County music programs by helping inspire creativity, expand access, and empower young artists to find their voice.”

After his arrest for battery of a police officer last summer after an erratic post-midnight expedition into the streets of Los Angeles, Lil Nas X was charged with four felonies, raising the prospect of potential jail time. In the immediate aftermath, he called his arrest and weekend-long jail stint “terrifying,” and his lawyer said he was not taking illegal drugs at the time of his arrest. LNX (pictured above at a hearing last month) had disclosed mental health struggles to fans several months before the arrest, and a few weeks afterward, his lawyer said he was undergoing unspecified treatment.
