The UK has their own Saturday Night Live now. Live from London, the first episode of SNL UK premiered on Sky TV last night, and it looks like it’ll be formatted pretty much exactly like the original version. The inaugural musical guest was the very British Wet Leg, who performed “Mangetout” and “Catch These Fists” from last year’s moisturizer.

  • BOUNDARIES – Return With “Skies cast amber black” via Sumerian Records

“Skies cast amber black” video directed by Max Moore

    IT’S ALL AROUND US NOW…

Boundaries return with “Skies cast amber black” (https://bndrs.lnk.to/allaroundusnow), their first new music since 2024’s Death Is Little More, and a track that channels the current cultural climate into a crushing, cinematic storm.

“I have a deep desire in the pit of my making to surround and suffocate the growing plague of people’s self-interest,” vocalist Matthew McDougal says of the Drew Fulk produced track. “Given the chance, I’d remove every ego from the music landscape and burn it off for fuel to power blood hungry behemoths whose only goal is to crush and disable. This song is my plea to cleanse a community I adore of people who see it only as an opportunity or a stepping stone.”

Boundaries will spend much of 2026 on the road, joining The Amity Affliction and August Burns Red for a North American tour from April 10 to May 17, followed by a run of major European festivals including Rock Im Park, Rock Am Ring, Download, and Jera on Air. The band is also confirmed for spots at Warped Tour and Louder Than Life.

Boundaries is Cory Emond (guitar), Cody Delvecchio (guitar), Tim Sullivan (drums/vocals), Nathan Calcagno (bass/vocals) and Matthew McDougal (vocals).

The Hartford-based band have released three full-length albums: Death Is Little More (2024), Burying Brightness (2022) and Your Receding Warmth (2020).

Revolver described their music as “a fascinating meld of crushing sounds,” New Noise said Boundaries are the “new standard-bearer” of metalcore going on to say that it’s rare for a band to have songs that “have a vibrancy and violence that is wonderfully contrasted with such gothic melody,” and Boolin Tunes said they are “a beacon for hardcore bands to look towards.”

  • Album Review: Hellripper – Coronach

    Album Review: Hellripper – Coronach

    Reviewed by Richard Oliver

The Scottish speed metal king James McBain returns with a brand spanking new Hellripper album “Coronach”. Named after the improvised communal singing that is a tradition at funerals and wakes in Scotland, “Coronach” continues to bring Scottish heritage, culture and tradition into the lyrical themes whilst the music continues to grow and progress drawing from different sounds and influences whilst still retaining the blackened speed and thrash core Hellripper sound.

Hellripper has grown from its origins whilst at the same time remaining much the same. The music is still all performed and recorded by James McBain at his home studio as has been the way for all the previous Hellripper releases but whilst black, speed and thrash metal are the still beating heart of Hellripper, James refuses to do the same album twice and “Coronach” sees the introduction of different instruments such as synthesisers, cello, violin and of course bagpipes and even a few clean vocals pop up here and there. Before anyone panics thinking this is a radical departure for Hellripper, be reassured that this is still the same band but with a few new ingredients added to the mix. Influences as diverse as post punk, prog rock, death metal seep their way into the sound with James citing bands as from Mercyful Fate, Venom, Opeth and Manic Street Preachers as providing influence on his songwriting approach.

    Album Review: Hellripper - Coronach

The eight songs which make up “Coronach” are varied and give a wide scope throughout the album listening experience from the harsh coldness of album opener ‘Hunderprest’ to the rock ‘n’ roll debauchery of ‘Kinchyle (Goatkraft And Granite), the atmosphere and evil feel of ‘Baobhan Sith (Waltz Of The Damned)’, the all out thrashing assault of ‘Blakk Satanik Fvkkstorm’ and the majestic progressive title track which closes the album and sees the most diverse array of influences and sounds on the album.

“Coronach” is another superb album from Hellripper and showcases the ever growing maturity and evolution of James’ songwriting and musicianship. This is still the same Hellripper which have ripped our faces off on the previous three albums but this is definitely a branching out and expansion of the Hellripper experience whilst still remaining true to the ethos first shown on the debut EP in 2015. Hellripper started out as a little project which James hoped a few people in his local scene would enjoy but has blown up to something beyond which James could ever imagine. The evolution of Hellripper continues with “Coronach” and the future is looking very bright.

  • Sepultura Perform “The Place” for the First Time in Perth: Watch

    sepultura_band26

Apparently, Sepultura have a thing for alliteration, because they hit us with a lil bit of it this past Friday (March 20), during the kick-off show for their Australian tour. The decided Perth was the perfect place for, well, “The Place” (there’s that alliteration!) since the debuted the track live on stage that night at the Metro city venue. Seemed like fans loved it, as you can see from fan-filmed footage (alliteration, again) like the clip below.

“The Place” is taken off the band’s upcoming new release The Cloud Of Unknowing EP, which comes out April 24 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Sepultura’s Perth setlist was as follows, according to good ol’ Setlist.fm:

    1. Beneath The Remains
    2. Inner Self
    3. Desperate Cry
    4. The Place (live debut)
    5. Kairos
    6. Propaganda
    7. Attitude
    8. Means To An End
    9. Choke
    10. Phantom Self
    11. Kaiowas
    12. Guardians Of Earth
    13. Escape To The Void
    14. Dead Embryonic Cells
    15. Agony Of Defeat
    16. Orgasmatron (MOTÖRHEAD cover)
    17. Troops Of Doom
    18. Territory
    19. Refuse/Resist
    20. Arise
    21. Drum Solo
    22. Ratamahatta
    23. Roots Bloody Roots

Sepultura’s vocalist Derrick Green previously said this about “The Place”:

“This song deals with immigrants who have come to a place seeking refuge and start a new life. Once assimilated into a false sense of security and relentless propaganda, they began to act out against what they hate about themselves. The transition begins to escape from the self-hatred and the lashing out against people who believed in the same ideas. I feel the lyrics truly follow the transitions of the song. Starting with disappointment and arriving at anger.”

As someone who often starts with disappointment and later arrives at anger, this definitely resonated.
