Pennan Brae Studio Review
The first track, “Scratch,” showcases Pennan Brae’s remarkable compositional abilities. He adopts a rich, unique, and visionary creative approach. The guitar riff and rhythmic development are genuinely original, almost avant-garde. This rhythm sticks in your head and has a hypnotic effect. The song possesses a sly yet kaleidoscopic quality that envelops the listener.

Moving on, “Déjà Vu” carries a relentless rhythm that captures attention. Brae consistently experiments with syncopated patterns that make his music particularly intriguing. “Hig & Jig” continues in this vein, as he skillfully plays with pauses and dynamics. His style operates like a binary code, leading listeners into a unique and immersive musical experience.
Next comes “Night Crawling,” a track that stands out for its night-time ambiance. This is one of my personal favorites on the album. “What I Want” features a prominent megaphone voice that captivates, combined with chords and a riff reminiscent of a march. The energy and feel of this track are especially memorable.
Studio – Sound and Atmosphere
“Strut” introduces a crunchy guitar tone. It features a more traditional rhythm that invites listeners to move, evoking images of Tony Manero from “Saturday Night Fever.” There’s an infectious groove that commands attention and encourages movement, making it a fun addition to the album.
The closing track, “It Ain’t Perfect But It’s Free,” carries a nearly funk-infused rhythm. This piece transports listeners back to the seventies, serving as a soundtrack that could easily accompany a television series. Brae successfully conjures a nostalgic vibe while maintaining his distinct sound.
Throughout “Studio,” the artist surprises listeners with his unique style. The combination of rhythmic intricacies and lyrical content enhances the listening experience. Each song presents an exploration of different musical landscapes while maintaining a cohesive identity.
Studio – Performance and Production
Brae’s compositions are innovative and accessible. His use of unconventional rhythms and engaging melodies marks him as a distinct voice in the contemporary music scene.
The journey through the tracks feels fulfilling. With intricate arrangements and inventive lyrics, this album is sure to resonate with those who seek music that challenges as much as it entertains.
Brae’s music resonates on multiple levels, making it appealing to casual listeners and music aficionados alike. His knack for combining familiar sounds with innovative structures sets him apart in today’s musical landscape.
“Studio” solidifies Pennan Brae’s place in contemporary music. The expert craftsmanship and thoughtful execution illustrate his continuous evolution as an artist. This album is a satisfying journey and showcases his skill at creating engaging and memorable music.
