A jury trial in the civil lawsuit brought against Marilyn Manson by his former personal assistant, Ashley Walters, has been scheduled for November 15, 2027. The date was set at a hearing on Wednesday, August 12, and initially reported by Rolling Stone. Walters first filed the suit in 2021, alleging sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual battery and infliction of emotional distress relating to 2010 and 2011, when she worked for him. Manson denies all of it. His attorney Howard King says the case won’t reach a courtroom at all.

Five years of the case going nowhere
The reason this is news — rather than just another date on a docket — is how long it took to get here.
Walters filed in 2021, during the wave of civil claims brought against Manson by multiple women. The case was then dismissed and reinstated more than once, and the sticking point every time was the statute of limitations rather than the substance of the allegations.
It was revived most recently in January 2026, after California passed AB 250 — legislation that opened a temporary window for adult survivors of alleged sexual abuse to bring claims that would otherwise be time-barred. In June, a judge denied Manson’s latest attempt to have the case thrown out.
Now there’s a jury date. November 15, 2027.

What his lawyer said
Howard King, Manson’s attorney, didn’t hedge. He said they’re confident the case will “never get to trial” once the court hears their upcoming motion for summary judgment.
That’s the next real moment in this. A summary judgment motion asks a judge to decide the case without a jury on the grounds that there’s no genuine factual dispute to try. If it succeeds, the November 2027 date evaporates. If it fails, this actually goes in front of twelve people.
So the trial date is real but conditional. Anyone reporting today that Manson is definitely standing trial next fall is getting ahead of the process.

Where everything else stands
Worth laying out plainly, because this has been running for five years and the threads get tangled.
Manson settled with actress Esmé Bianco in January 2023, and with an unidentified accuser in September of the same year. A separate claim from Ashley Morgan Smithline was withdrawn, with Smithline recanting and saying she’d been manipulated into making the allegations. A suit filed by Bianca Allaine Kyne in 2024, alleging incidents in the 1990s, appears to still be live.
And critically: the LA District Attorney’s office declined to file criminal charges in January 2025, after a four-year investigation. DA Nathan J. Hochman stated that the domestic violence allegations fell outside the statute of limitations and that his office could not prove sexual assault charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
That’s the distinction that gets flattened in a lot of coverage. Criminal charges were declined. Civil litigation continues, under a far lower standard of proof, and that’s what November 2027 is about.
Manson has publicly denied the allegations throughout and has countersued several of his accusers.

The timing
Here are the calendar facts, and readers can do what they like with them.
The trial date landed on Wednesday. On Friday, August 14, Manson releases One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2 via Nuclear Blast — his thirteenth album. Six days after that, on August 20, the Freaks On Parade tour with Rob Zombie opens in West Palm Beach, with The HU and Orgy supporting. There are also two Antichrist Superstar 30th anniversary shows booked at The Wiltern for Halloween and November 1.
That’s an album, a co-headline arena run, and a legacy anniversary victory lap, all inside a fortnight, with a jury date now sitting on the horizon fifteen months out.
Whatever you make of the man, that’s the situation he’s walking into on Friday.

What is Marilyn Manson being sued for?
Ashley Walters, his former personal assistant, filed suit in 2021 alleging sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual battery, infliction of emotional distress and violations of several California civil codes, relating to the period between 2010 and 2011 when she worked for him.
