Niki Moss returns with Getting to the Bottom, a richly textured track that sits between synth pop, post punk and alternative rock, bringing a darker atmosphere together with a strong melodic instinct. The production has a cinematic quality, with shadowy electronic textures and a brooding sense of movement giving the song its weight. As the track develops, brighter guitar driven passages open up the arrangement, creating a contrast between its introspective verses and more expansive choruses. Niki Moss approaches the idea of endings without turning the song into a simple statement of loss, instead focusing on the uncertainty and reflection that follow when something familiar has run its course. There is a feeling of searching throughout, both musically and lyrically, as the song moves through memory, discomfort and the possibility of starting again. It marks a compelling return with plenty of atmosphere and emotional depth.

Finding the bottom means finding what comes next.
