Tricky FM Announces New Album Twin Star Fantasy: Hear “Sugar In My Drink”
San Francisco-based Hana Freed records electronic indie pop (sorry, make that “emotional computer core”) as Tricky FM. She’ll be dropping her new album Twin Star Fantasy this fall, and as today’s single “Sugar In My Drink” demonstrates, you’d be wise to pay attention. The song’s blend of misty synths, kinetic breakbeats, and breathy, holographic vocals is a bit like ear crossed with early Grimes — a chilly endorphin rush ideal for sipping some ice water while fending off the sweltering temperatures enveloping the United States right now.

CAYNE Release New Single “Domina” Featuring Xandria Vocalist Ambre Vourvahis | Inspired by Nevernight as the Acclaimed Fantasy Series Celebrates 10 Years

Italian modern metal force CAYNE have officially released their powerful new single, “Domina,” available now on all major digital platforms. Blending cinematic storytelling with crushing modern metal, the track delivers an emotionally charged anthem inspired by one of fantasy literature’s most unforgettable heroines.
Following the momentum of their previous single “Outcast,” CAYNE return with one of their most ambitious releases to date. “Domina” features a stunning guest appearance from Ambre Vourvahis , acclaimed vocalist of melodic symphonic metal band Xandria, whose soaring performance creates a dramatic vocal duet alongside CAYNE’s frontwoman.
Inspired by Mia Corvere, the unforgettable anti-heroine from Jay Kristoff’s internationally acclaimed Nevernight trilogy, “Domina” arrives as fans celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary. The song explores Mia’s relentless pursuit of vengeance, her brutal training as an elite assassin, and her mysterious ability to command and communicate with the shadows.
The lyrical narrative captures the essence of one of modern fantasy’s most compelling female protagonists. Fierce, sarcastic, and morally complex, Mia walks the razor’s edge between darkness and redemption, accompanied by her enigmatic shadow companion. Through their contrasting vocal performances, CAYNE and Ambre Vourvahis bring this duality vividly to life, creating a haunting and unforgettable listening experience.
Adding even more authenticity to the project, Nevernight author Jay Kristoff has long been known as a passionate fan of heavy metal, making the connection between literature and metal culture especially fitting.
The single artwork was created by renowned artist Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design, whose portfolio includes artwork for legendary acts including Evergrey, Kamelot, Suffocation, and many others.
With soaring melodies, crushing riffs, cinematic atmosphere, and a story worthy of the darkest fantasy epics, “Domina” stands as one of the standout metal releases of the summer.
