  • KISS Reveals Las Vegas Fan Event With Exclusive Band Activities & Live Shows

Kiss have unveiled a packed schedule of activities for the second edition of KISS Kruise: Land-Locked In Vegas, which returns to Virgin Hotels Las Vegas from November 13-15.

The event follows last year’s successful debut, which attracted fans from all 50 U.S. states and 32 countries. Created in partnership with co-producers Pophouse, Vibee and Topeka, the gathering will once again bring members of the Kiss Army together for a weekend centered around the band’s legacy and its members.

One of the biggest draws is that KISS Kruise: Land-Locked In Vegas will feature the only live Kiss performances scheduled anywhere in the world during 2026. Attendees will also have opportunities to interact with Gene SimmonsPaul StanleyTommy Thayer and Eric Singer through a variety of exclusive fan experiences.

Among the newly announced activities is “Gene Simmons’s Private KISS Collection Show & Tell”, where Gene Simmons will showcase rare memorabilia and share stories from his personal archive alongside “KISSbySienna” host Sienna Hernandez.

Food will take center stage during “Paul Stanley’s KISS Cook-Off”, which sees Paul Stanley preparing one of his signature dishes while fans attempt to recreate it with assistance from Chef Colin. Participants will compete for the title of Cook-Off champion.

Music fans can step into the spotlight during “Tommy Thayer’s KISS Army Live Band Karaoke”. The event will feature Tommy Thayer on guitar, backed by Ace Frehley‘s solo band, while attendees perform classic Kiss songs and hear stories behind some of the band’s most recognizable riffs and tracks.

Meanwhile, “Eric Singer’s KISS Kruiser Drum Off + Q&A” will give fans the opportunity to sit behind the drum kit and compete in a guest drum challenge judged by Eric Singer. The session will also include a fan Q&A moderated by Modern Drummer’s David Frangioni.

Last year’s event featured acoustic and electric performances from Kiss, marking the band’s first live appearances together since ending its farewell tour in 2023. Fans also attended question-and-answer sessions with all four members, longtime manager Doc McGhee, producers Bob Ezrin and Eddie Kramer, photographer Lynn Goldsmith, and Kiss Army founders Bill Starkey and Jay Evans.

Building on those experiences, organizers are introducing an expanded “KISSperience” this year. The program will include artist panels, Q&A sessions, a Kiss look-alike contest, karaoke events, “Ask Doc” sessions with Doc McGhee, meet-and-greets, late-night DJs, interactive exhibits, merchandise shopping opportunities and a “Future Of KISS” panel. Renowned Kiss photographer Barry Levine is also scheduled to appear.

  • Sweeping Promises – “Cocoon”

There’s a surfeit of post-punk bands these days; it can be hard to stand out. That’s not a problem for Sweeping Promises, though. The first You Say I Romanticize single “Shooting Shadows” was a memorable banger, and its followup “Cocoon” is even better.

  • ALBUM REVIEW: Nirriti – Dhrupad Anutpada (ধ্রুপদ অনুৎপাদ): Apophatic Ragas of Non-Origination

Indian / Canadian black-death mystics Nirriti present their debut album. Following the 2020 EP that ignited quite a blaze in the underground; I hold high expectations for this LP. Out via Iron Bonehead Productions on June 19th.

Serene strings and samples begin our journey of esoteric terror and violence. Noise, percussion, vicious dissonance; Nirriti make their presence felt with a volatile and convulsive concoction of twisted malevolence. The clanking of the bass cuts gloriously through the piercing guitar assault to give a real body to the mix which is intense and claustrophobic. Vocally the reverberate cacophony is perfectly suited to the trepanning instrumental fury. While the abyssal mix is raw and harsh; there is plenty of strength and everything is hard-hitting while retaining that sparse and discordant quality. The opening moments of this record are a lesson in hostility and extremity where both are pushed to the pinnacle.

At 44 minutes in length, this is a cumbersome album for the style. With a lot of aural torture that is all over the place and yet unified by this savage pulsating heart that dissolves into itself only to take new form; it is not an easy or straightforward listen. This is probably as far into noise territory as I personally venture, but the guitar work, inhuman drumming and vocals are unmistakably of the most deranged metallic constellations. Expect a cacophony of metaphysical upheaval that will certainly leave a mark.

This album is an overwhelming onslaught of bestial carnage. Blackened death metal noise with no limits. If you are curious how far into the extreme metal can be taken, this is a pretty good answer. It’s a bit less riff oriented than the likes of Tetragrammacide but has its own style that will certainly appeal to those into the more chaotic and feral corners of musical barbarism.

    Rating: 7 out of 10.
