Australian progressive metal outfit Teramaze have announced their upcoming studio album The Silent Architect, set for release on May 8. Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the single “The Invisible Countdown,” offering a first look at the sound and direction behind the new record.
With The Silent Architect, Teramaze distill many of the elements that have defined their evolution as a band. Magnolia Park has shared another track from the upcoming deluxe edition of their album ‘VAMP’, showcasing the band at their most decadent.
Titled ‘Dangerous’, it pulls from the most hot and heavy of RnB in a way that only they could truly pull off. Mashing together slick beats and velvet-coated croons with crushing metalcore intensity, it’s a sensationally bold addition to their discography. What The Weeknd would have sounded like if he were raised on Senses Fail.
It also demonstrates how the band are still capable of suiting any style that they wish to push their spin on. A skill that so many think they have, but often come up short when the time comes.
The band had this to say about where it fits within the story of the album it is being added to, stating, “‘Dangerous’ sits as the centrepiece for the deluxe and foreshadows a more sensual side we’re exploring that will make its way into the Vampire’s lore,” the band explains. “With its sexy lyrics, heavy groovy riffs, forward-thinking production and RnB vocals, it really acts as a sneak peek into the new sound for what’s to come after NIGHTS AFTER VAMP.”

Starting late next month, the Judas Priest documentary co-directed by Sam Dunn and Tom Morello will make its North American debut at the annual Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival in Toronto, which will be running from April 23 to May 3.
Though the film debuted earlier this year at the 76th Berlinale – Berlin International Film Festival, this will be the first time North American audiences will get to catch the story of Judas Priest’s rise to metal godhood over the last 50+ years. All we’ve gotten so far is the preview clip that debuted on Rolling Stone last month.
Not only is this a momentous thing for Judas Priest, it’s also Morello’s directorial debut. Throughout the doc’s runtime, the band and folks close to them discuss Priest’s cultural impact over the decades. Of course, it will feature classic songs like “Breaking The Law” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’” while contextualizing them in relation to the band’s career at the time.
In a prepared statement, Morello and Dunn said this documentary is a must-see for all Priest fans.
“While some may know Judas Priest for their huge hits that have shaped the heavy metal genre, there is so much more to their story. Tracing their incredible 50-year journey, this film will capture how Judas Priest both defined the sound and look of metal, but also made it a more inclusive place along the way.”
Similarly, Halford touted the documentary’s effort to highlight how things really went down for the band.
“We have lived and breathed metal for over five decades, and finally in this documentary we are summoning our congregation to officially witness our lives uncensored, in a never-before-seen way…the cassock comes off, revealing Priest in all its metal glory!”
