MGK Calls Out “Mickey Mouse” Rockstars: Are These New Lyrics Aimed Directly at Yungblud and The Osbournes?

The arrival of MGK’s “FIX UR FACE” music video has sent the rock world into a frenzy of lyrical detective work. While the high-energy collaboration with Fred Durst has already become a visual hit, the online discussion has shifted entirely to a series of pointed verses that MGK himself teased were “going over people’s heads.”
From references to “Mickey Mouse kids” to a direct jab at “oldheads” killing the vibe, fans across Reddit and X are convinced the track contains hidden messages aimed at former friend Yungblud and the Osbourne family. As the Nashville-shot video racks up views, the mystery behind the lyrics has become the central talking point of the “FIX UR FACE” era.
H3: LISTEN: Today’s Loaded Radio Daily Briefing
“Mickey Mouse Kids” and the Disney Connection
The most scrutinized line in the track comes during the first verse: “Mickey Mouse kids turned rockstars / Leaving private schools, tryna be outlaws.” For many fans, this is a clear nod to Yungblud (Dominic Harrison), whose early career included a lead role on the Disney Channel series The Lodge. Yungblud also attended elite private boarding schools in the UK before rising to fame in the alternative scene.
Given that MGK and Yungblud were once inseparable—collaborating on hit singles like “I Think I’m Okay”—this lyrical shift has fans questioning the current state of their relationship. While Yungblud has remained silent on the matter, the precision of the references has made him the primary subject of the “Mickey Mouse” theories currently dominating social media.

Taking on the “Oldheads”: The Osbourne Connection
The intrigue doesn’t stop at the Disney references. MGK follows up with a defiant claim: “And all the oldheads tryna kill the vibe / But Rock’s not dead as long as I’m alive.” Online communities have been quick to link this to a 2024 appearance by Yungblud on The Osbournes Podcast.
During that episode, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne were vocal in their criticism of MGK, with Kelly suggesting he was “copping” Yungblud’s aesthetic. Fans have noted that while Yungblud appeared uncomfortable during the exchange, he didn’t explicitly defend MGK at the time. Whether MGK is making a general statement on the “gatekeepers” of rock or pointing directly at the Osbourne family’s public comments, the “oldhead” lyric has provided plenty of fuel for the internet’s speculative fire.

A Visual and Sonic Nu-Metal Statement
While the lyrics are driving the conversation, the music video for “FIX UR FACE” is a heavy-hitting tribute to the nu-metal era. Directed by Sam Cahill, the video features Fred Durst in a hype-man role, perfectly complementing the track’s aggressive production. Shot largely in Nashville with additional footage from MGK’s recent global tour stops, the video has successfully reintroduced the rapper-turned-rocker as a dominant force in the genre.
With the track already a staple of his live set and the video now out in the world, MGK has successfully combined musical nostalgia with a modern mystery that keeps his name at the top of the headlines.

TL;DR:
MGK’s “FIX UR FACE” music video has ignited a massive online debate over cryptic lyrics. Fans believe the song’s “Mickey Mouse” and “private school” references are aimed at Yungblud, while the “oldhead” jab is being tied to the Osbourne family’s previous comments about him. Despite the speculation, the Fred Durst-assisted track is cementing MGK’s return to his nu-metal roots.

Peter Hook Won’t Join New Order At Rock Hall Podium, But May Perform If They Apologize
New Order (and Joy Division) were recently announced as members of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s Class Of 2026, and this November, they’ll also be performing at the induction ceremony. That news spawned speculation that founding bassist Peter Hook might be rejoining the band: In the nearly two decades since his departure, Hook has been embroiled in a verbal and legal feud with New Order frontman Bernard Sumner, and Hook doesn’t seem pleased with the musical direction New Order have taken without him. In a new interview with Rolling Stone this week, Hook cleared the air on how he plans to spend this year’s Rock Hall induction ceremony.
